Hello

Well started training 2 the day before yesterday. Hope Im doing it right. Think its a bit difficult as the plants are so "non-strechy" - 6-7 sets of leaves and 8 on the way. But only 15 cm high/(long now). So plz. comment if you thing I shoul do something different. Im trying to keep all new shots down too, gently, the way I did I only keep them down from the top. No knots.

Heres some update pics.

Youre taking your time to make those babies monsters! hehe
Tuned in! :D

I just grew 5 of these,2 in Hydro,3 in soil. The hydro girls stretched alot, and finished off at about 4-5ft. tall.Tops were bent some, and tied up.Unfortunately, still being slightly a noobie I did not keep a calender, but the flowering was definitely in the 10wk.+range. Nice, fairly dense buds, branchy with alot of nice, smaller nugs that finished up w/a good yield for each plant. The soil girls did nicely too,but only averaged 2-3ft.tall due to small pots.I still got a great yield from these too.
Once dried and cured(2weeks),the buds were nice and fairly compressed for a sativa, very sticky with a strange, spicy, minty taste/smell that leaves a little bit of a bite in aftertaste. The high is very strong, definitely sativa, cutting through other strains effects/and/or burnout nicely. No ceiling at all,and the butter I made from the trim gave me EXTREMELY potent cookies. Ate 3 and definitely needed no more.I was impressed due to reading lots of negative feedback about Greenhouse.Overpriced for sure, but for my second grow I was definitely surprised at the excellent results. One friend claimed it to be TOO strong!!

Hello folks

-Minipurz - thanks, yup they look happy, so lets hope its the right way to train them...

-_frankenstein_ - hope they will become monsters and Im doing it right. They grew a bit slow from start, but the 5,2 ph waterings I think was the problem. They water 5,2 in GHS video from start, so I thought it was right. But can easily see the difference when I switched to 6,0 ph. Much better now. The result looks good, there's only 1-1½ cm between each set of new leaves. So I think I will be able to make many shots from each plant.

-smellmyfinger - thank you for the information man, it sound like exactly what Im hoping for... But looong time to go (long, but a nice time)

Heres a little update.

I put up some Mylar today, the scrog net will be coming in level with the buttom of the higest placed mylar. So about 30-35 cm from pot tops.

I also mounted an extra timer, so know my bulbs run:
The Leds are set on for 20 hours a day
600 watt MH lamp 1 for 11,5 hours a day
600 watt MH lamp 2 for 11,5 hours a day

The timers are set so the MH lamps has a 3 hours overlap where, they both are on. I think it helps a little as it gives a more natural - most lumens mid day. And also the bulbs are placed 60 cm apart, so the light will be coming from 2 different directions (i have heard that its good to hid different places of the plant) I know the results of this is prob. is not much, but I like the Idea.

Heres some pics.

nice job smeden.....looking forward to see Godzillaz 3 he he. No doubt they are gonner test the size of the room ;o)
I see it as a win/win situation for you, either you get big big HUGE buds, or not.......but then you can always start up a boobietrap school!!!! Nahhhh just kidding, it really looks nice with the string and sticks there.....some WORK you got cut out for yourself , but hey that is often followed by great reward ;o)
See you at Icetokers ;o)

The purple and blue spectrum added by the leds will sure have a subtle influence in the way they grow/flower... Thats it!
Thats 2 HPS 600 guys... if he shut them off... it would simply be dark...

Kudos for you training... that sure will help maximise yeld for that hibrid!! :D
Very cool the 3 Hour midday!! hehe :rasta:

Hello

Thanks a lot for all the kind words - it warms.
Ludo - Yup, - At Icetoker's - the place to be
dkmonk - the leds I got for 142 dollars on ebay, 1042 dkr incl. handling and taxes to Denmark.
Icetoker - See ya tomorrow, well have a great time again :rasta:

Heres a little update, they definetly grow faster and faster. Nutrients now boosted to 1715 ppm and ph 6.0. If they can take 1715 I go 1800 next time.

All girls now have between 13 and 16 upgoing shots on the main stalk. And these shots have up 6 small upcoming shots each, so multiplication will be booming now - I hope.

This is just before the grow explodes. You can see the LED´s...but not the 2 x 600W HPS:

Hey all, sorry I'm late to this one, but what an awesome grow. I am really excited to see what the LED's add to the mix. I am a huge geek when it comes to lighting, and I am always interested in seeing what the next evolution of lighting will bring. And this looks like a great lighting experiment.

I am also a huge fan of LST, its such a wonderful method. There are so few plants that respond poorly to LST. Smeden, you are doing a great job with the LST, look t those wonderful bushes. I really can't wait to see the end result of this grow.

Hello again

- Paddi - Yup, what a nice day, more of us growers should "unite" as you said... Thanks to you, Icetoker and Kallenavn.dk - for a great day, with lots of very nice talk about the herb.
And thanks for the pics. and tasters :joint: super nice!!!

- Smoking Gun - thank you for the nice words. Im pretty satisfied, but I made a mistake, the first 3½ week I feeded with ph. 5,2, and can see that they grew very slow, on 5,2 feeding.
Now Im on my 2-3 week of 6,0 ph, and the nutrients was boosted to 1815 ppm last night. I hope they can handle all the feeding... But the previos feeding on 1715 ppm, made the plants grow about 10-12 cm in only 2 days. So now im in a hurry to fix the scrog net. Best to be done tonight or tomorrow. Hope tonight, then I will post a few shots.

Cheers

I saw the original pictures and posts, and I do notice the difference. The growth now is fantastic. Also, it looks like you are running soil, and I was wondering why you went with such a low Ph into the soil system. Soil and soilless mix, in my experience, needs a more neutral Ph. I am sure if you changed the Ph of your feeding to 6.5 the plants would do wonderful, although it does seem like the 6.0 Ph is working for you. I hope you can get that net fixed. Another way to do LST with then plants is fishing line and fishing weights. Same results and no netting to get caught in.

Yes it was truly a nice time we had last saturday.........all the good talk and smoke!!!!!

It´s just a outstanding grow you hve going there smeden!!!! I cant wait to see them going crazy when you flip the switch.............boinggg :canabis:

i agree with smoking gun about the ph.....6.0 is a tad low with soil 6.5 is ideal in my books.

look at this table:

you can see that with 6.0 you get less nute and micro uptake than with 6.5.

see you soon my friend.

Good evening.

Thanks for the information to you both. So you think I should feed them 6,5 ph? then I will try tomorrow on feeding day. I heard from a friend that they really can take a lot of nutrients, so im pretty excited to see how far I can go when I step up under flower. My flower nutrients will be made of mix of RO and tapwater to about 100 ppm (to get some of the "needed" good minerals that RO doesnt let through). Then I will start at about 1400 ppm and step up 100 until 1700 and from 1700 I will step up 50 ppm each watering. Till I find my plants max nutrients intake (first sign on overnutes and I will flush and step 100 down and stay there)

Well heres a pic of the scrog net I just mounted. Now I just need the girls to streeeeetch.

Things are looking awsome

How are the LED lamps working for you?
They screw in like a typical bulb socket?

I wonder if I can find the data for what spectrum of light is needed that i can build my own and mount them on the side and top walls of a 4 ft cube area (4 feet = 1.2192 meters)... But thats just me dreaming now
