Wow, entering my hard work ...

AND meeting BOG... Could this be the best time of my life? (Sorry wife and kids!)

Just hope i dont come last!

I'll be putting away a couple of oz of deliciously more-ish white russian (AK pheno) She actually makes my mouth really water with every inhalation, no joke! Just like opal fruits! She has no single fruity taste to describe... more like all the citrus fruits all rolled into one!

dg, could you tell me when i have to hand in my "entry?" It will be before the judging starts on tues surely!

And BOG... save a book and signature for dark angel eh?

Plenty of time for a nice cure! :canabis: We expect to start receiving entries in March '06
with deadline to receive entries sometime the first week of April. The exact dates
will be posted a bit later, but this will give you a good idea.

Thanks for your interest in entering....nice frosty looking plants! :canabis:

Will you be accepting multiple entries of one particular strain, but from different growers?

I may submit Bogs Lifesaver, because I have 30 grams ready and busy curring in glass jars, so by april it will be perfect, But what if someone else wants to also submit Lifesaver?

In the Growers category its not the strain which is judged, but the growers' skills, it doesn't matter what you submit in that particular category, and it doesn't matter if its already been entered by ten other people...its not the strain that wins, but the grower.

People can get alot of the info they're looking for by going back and reading the thread.

Entries are received, then blind labeled, and judges have no idea what is what as there are no strain names on the labeling....for obvious blind judging reasons.

We anticipate many multiple entries of the same variety...but the way one grower grows a particular variety may not be the same as another grower's entry. Some grow in soil, some grow hydro.

Look at it this way....like at a county fair (coming from the South I'm real familiar with county fairs :D ) Alot of livestock get's entered, or chickens, or rabbits, etc....but the way the farmer cared for and raised the particular 'floppy ear' rabbit, or the Angus cow...how it's fed and groomed...how it is presented, can make the difference in a blue ribbon or no ribbon at all....this is much the same as the grower's cup. Another analogy is a dog show, there can be several entries of the same breed of dog, but the best of the best usually wins. Many people can grow Bog's Lifesaver, or Rez's ECSD V3, or Serious Seeds AK-47, or GH Arjan's Haze, Paradise's Sensi Star, DJ's Blueberry, or (the list goes on and on) as well as their own variety or cross, but some might be a better grower than others and pay more attention to enviro issues and realize a better result than someone who didn't properly grow, manicure, and cure the final product.

Sooooo, it's the quality of the finished product....no matter the origin of the genetics.

Thanks Ronley, we look forward to your entry. :D

Exactly DG and this is what makes this event so special really. Every attendee has the chance to have their work rated. Don't worry about being last. I remember the last place entry and it was horrible. :D LOL...

If your stuff isnt pure green leaf it won't be made fun of... we all try and look for the best rather than finding losers. We are all winners at this event and everyone goes home happy.

When someone enters a breeders pride and joy it becomes their pride and joy. For REZ and myself it isn't a competition between us. Can you believe that we are actually happy when the other is honored.

The greatest honor is being allowed to get any credit for what you do actually. Every breeder and grower has pride in his or her work and this event will increase your self esteem in all you do. We are a positive influence at our event and Amsterdam welcomes us with open arms.

What else would you expect from the most civilized people in the world. My thanks goes also to the Dutch for making our yearly event possible. Give thanks my friends. BOG

Nice idea, that Sat-ind-hash category thing..

But how much it will be for one category? Let's say it'd be 80 euros.. And then i'd want another category - i hope the price wouldn't be the same 80 euros, maybe like 40?

Just trying to make suggestions here.. But umm..

Another thing i was wondering, is that if you get a pass to, for example, sativa.. Are you FORCED TO SMOKE? Or can you just pass the rest and still get to judge? Or do you have to smoke em all?

I'd like to get Indy-Sat pass for myself and Sat pass for my girl..

Are there what methods of taking the bud for judges? Just smoking? No vaping (volcano, mmm)? (Neither one of us smokes so we would die if we had to)

I don't know about prices but differing judges passes should be available from the sound of things. The admin needs to really know about how many or each entry by the number of entries and judges. It is complex with such a fast growing event because the interest in participating in this event is so great. :D

Vaping however is allowed and encouraged and judges may use any method they choose for the judging. If we referred to smoking the samples it was just an oversight. Some strains really come through well with flavor in a vape and my sour bubble would be happy to be judged in this manner. Up in vancouver everyone vaped it and tasted something through the vapors that made them look surprised.

Often vaping makes strains taste similar to me but in fact the tastes do come through when they are unique and strong. Perhaps we could have vaping judges. BOG

I am pleased so many of my friends met last year plan to attend again. This is how an event like this really grows. The fun draws everyone back and more come each year. In 10 years we will be The Event of the Planet! :alien: BOG

As we are being judged according to the growers ability, I am wondering if, of the 30 (or so) grams that we enter, must the whole entry be of the same strain or can it be of mixed strains.

1 entry per variety....each entry is divided up equally, so all judges will be
judging the same 'blind sample' entry.

Otherwise, how could anyone judge a sample called IBHE5692956 if that sample
consisted of different varieties, some judges getting one type and others getting
another....really got me confused on that theory Ronley.
