Normalize it!!!

I was dragged to nycc by my gf this year and the way that you can get 100's of fully dressed deadpools, all in one picture at these events, really speaks to the cultural diversity of the city.

Many people will never get to experience it.

A recent British comedy may well change your view ...lol

The Lady in the Van
A big screen adaptation of writer Alan Bennett’s iconic and celebrated memoir,

directed by long-standing Bennett collaborator Nicholas Hytner.

The film tells the true story of the relationship between Alan Bennett and the singular Miss Shepherd,

a woman of uncertain origins who ‘temporarily’ parked her van in Bennett’s London driveway

and proceeded to live there for 15 years. Their unique story is funny, poignant and life-affirming.

Maggie Smith has been nominated for a BAFTA for Leading Actress,

and a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.

Maggie Smith winner of Best Actress at London's Evening Standard Film Awards.

Mrs. Merx and I watched this last night...brilliant. Except I can't seem to get her out of my head tho lol...

I don't know....I just moved back to the States after most of the last 5 years overseas...mainly China and Russia. Metal and plastic recycling.

In different cultures you can't base your read of people on what works back home. People in the present are the creation of their lives' experience, and overseas has too many unknown inputs dissimilar to my/your own.

I generally go by age, cleanliness, and how well clothes fit in some order. I guess lower-level "reads" would be quality of clothing, and how trendy/stylish.

But, generally, clean and well-fitting clothes indicate - at the very least - a personality type. Not much else but, it's an indicator.

Can't rely too much on color, hair, etc...in the States or abroad.

I have a friend like you I go fishing with down in the Gulf of Mexico. Flounder and Sea Trout, mostly.

He practices law to finance his fishing addiction. :)

Grouper is better (I'm biased)

i agree, but it is a hell of a drive from here for grouper, LOL! first grouper i ate, the diner split a filet open like pita bread, stuffed it with popcorn size shrimp, pinned it shut with toothpicks, dipped it in batter & deep-fried it...:woohoo::biggrin:

I'm sorry to say but I judged someone by their appearance yesterday. I was at the dollar store and the kid at the register was wearing some kind of weird medieval leather sash with glass "potion bottles" hanging off them. It's something I would imagine you'd find a Comic-Con. I gotta say I felt a little sorry for the kid. A lot of people in line were snickering, trying not to laugh. It was truly a bizarre spectacle.
