Corky, you just haven't been paying attention. Hemp seeds are not hard to get, even in the US, and they are a hell of a lot cheaper then those rip off seed banks we all shop at. I've been breeding hemp/high TCH hybrids for about three years now. As already suggested, look at the hemp hub thread. There are recent additions.

Rip off Seed Bank LOLZ

It's ok, I got some on the way now in the mail for cheap.

Thank You

Well I finally received my 250 grams of Hemp Seeds today.

They'll be chilling in my refrigerator until I figure something out.

I'll probably test 25 seeds early next month for germination.

There is lots around you need to actually find a hemp farm
I live close to one miles of miles of hemp growing first time i drove by i was like WTF lol
I was actually going to see him shortly and get bunch of hemp seeds as cover crop in my garden

I think its a perfect cover crop although they can grow monsterious you need to train them side ways
advanages no herbicides needed , fewer biological pests , hemp can be used to refurbish soils
its a win win

Honestly, I don't think there's any Hemp being grown anywhere near me.
If there is it's obviously kept a secret to keep the kids from jumping over
the fence and stealing.

I saw video on YouTube of Feral Hemp where the Government left the plants
alone because the seeds provided the wild gamebirds like pheasants enough
food to survive adverse winters. So maybe gamebird or poultry owners should
grow Hemp some to save on feed supply.

I was told about another place to buy Hemp seeds.

They have 3 cultivars called Finola, Helvetica and Monoica.

Swiss Hemp Shop

Finola, Ruderalis
Ruderalis Hemp, rather small, a spontaneous flowering (auto- flowering), mature in 4 months .
Suitable for small gardens and potted plants. Early legal guarantees THC.
Rich in CBD
The seeds are on the lists of the EU list Seeds, licensed in Switzerland.

Helvetica The Belle of the Albis
An old recultivation of a kind of hemp for fiber
Culture: permitted in Switzerland
Sowing: mid April to mid June
Seed maturity : mid to late September
Gender: 50% female plants / 50 % male plants

Monoica
Late monoecious hemp variety
Culture: variety accepted by European varieties catalog
Sowing: mid April to early May
Seed maturity : October
Gender: Hermaphrodite
Content: very little THC, high CBD

There is pretty good data on the cannabinoid profile of those lines. All three average 2% CBD, with Finola possessing the highest population wide CBD:THC ratio at 15:1, and Moinica with lowest at 2:1. Worth noting: a 15:1 ratio doesn't pass inspection in the US for high cannabinoid content plants (unless you are in Vermont or West Virginia), but these are low enough to not pose any worry.

But there terpene profiles are not so interesting, to high in Myrcene. For inflammation for example you will need β-Caryophyllene. Myrcene has more a sedative effect.

Keep on growing :)

Hemp Seed Germination Test:

I just dropped 25 random Hemp seeds into water and they will now soak for 8 to 12 hours.
A small piece of cloth is weighing the seeds under the water to make sure they do absorb
some water vs just floating.

Then they'll go in a moist folded cloth placed inside a nearly closed plastic baggy to see if they can germinate.

This is the way I germinate most seeds including vegetable these days.

I won't be cultivating these seeds it's just a germination test.

Well it's been less than 24 hours and a few Hemp seeds have popped.

So it's a success as the seeds are legit. :)

48 hours later and I got 4 hemp seeds popped circled in pink and one has even shed it's seed shell.

Nice thread. I'll subscribe and try contribue if I can. What are you gonna do with the plants? Seed them?

These were just a small germination test Mate Dave.

I wanted to make sure they were not sterilized.

I purchased 250 grams and with that I have more than enough seeds to play with later on.

I just figure growing Hemp indoors to maturity is a waste of resources considering that outdoors they'll ripen quite easily.

I've always wondered why it's so easy to buy Cannabis seeds that produce lots of THC.

But finding viable true hemp seeds that produce no THC at all or just a trace of it are next to
impossible to find. Like the hemp used in textile or clothing, etc.

I wouldn't mind growing one of these plants one day. Just to say I have done it.

Why is that?

Maybe the war on Cannabis is really a war on Hemp.

The COTTON MAFIA is probably at fault. They fear Hemp durability I bet.

If you see a reliable hemp seed link.

Do post it here if you can.

SHIT brother that shit grows wild out on the farm in nearly every midwestern farm town....atleast my buddy's farms all had atleast a spot where they just couldn't kill them out. Came back every year....sure it still does!

I don't live in the midwest and have never seen a Hemp plant grow before.

Nor are they any Hemp fields near me that I know of.
