Are there any reputable clone vendors in USA??????????

Lets start with some truths, I am not an expert in cloning, growing or business acumen.

I have been on this site since 2005 and ever since the legalization of cannabis discussion was started people on this site were saying, " There will always be a market for AAA flower" ---Wow!! was that overstated.

Legalization has driven the market price of cannabis so low most cant sell it anymore. Just ask around IC mag and you will see most, not all, but most cant compete. The average consumer could care less about quality.
I have a hard time believing that the price of clones, and yes even the special phenos, will not all be close or under $10/ea. very soon. If it goes federally legal, then for sure.

Arguing about the cost it takes to hold mothers and produce clones is so 1970 its crazy. I feel like I am in a time machine. Supply and demand will drive the cost. You think anybody but us hobbyist gives a shit about quality products wether its flower or clones?( Not that it matters but I prefer the 1970's)

Dude, go to your local dispensary and see what is most commonly bought. If you live in the US you live in the Walmart culture. Cost drives everything and therefore it will do the same to clone prices.

This will be the interaction of the average guy buying clones.

Consumer:Which one is the cheapest? Merchant: "But sir dont your care about testing and condition and pheno. choice?"

Consumer: Does that cost more? Merchant:"Of course sir, I have electricity bills, testing bills, nutrient bills." Consumer: Shut up and give me the $10 clone.

So good luck selling your $2K clones to a hobbyist. This market will be as small as my grow room.

Did you read this whole thread ? Do you realize that dispensaries and commercial nurseries are the biggest reason why this problem is happening in the first place ?

$100-$300 Sounds like a reasonable answer.

I guess the point of my post was the price will continue to fall. It doesn't matter what your costs are to maintain clones.

I have been in sales my whole career (25 years) and the first thing I was taught was to ask your self , "Who gives a shit?" If the answer to that question is only the guy selling the product guess what, your fucked.

Let me tell you something I have learned over the years, not many people give a shit what your costs are.

I did and I agree with you but ask yourself, "Who gives a shit besides me?". The answer will be very few people. If you cant live on a 20% margin on each clone you sell, someone else will.

That , I know for sure. The market has already spoken my friends.

If I have a 40 year old cut/s1s that nobody else has, and it's desirable... demand will shoot the price to whatever people are willing to pay. Fairness is subjective when you are buying the same cuts that breeders are basing their seedlines off of.

Where should one start? that was the subject of the thread.
Not here to advertise myself... I do sell anything I hold for 175 tho.

I believe things should be accessible to the masses...

But ...

There are some.

Gmo always has been good and transparent
Cloney had some great stuff
Farmer joe is awesome

I know folks on discord that have good stuff.

Also have heard horror stories so...

Gotta see thier transparency of thier garden, ipm etc and go from there...

Ok, how many of those cuts exist?

As soon as I buy that elite 40yr old clone I am now selling it for 1/2 the price you bought it for and then so is the next guy I sell it to. There is no way to police peoples ethics when you sell something. So goes the market slide downwards towards the bottom.

Look around here on IC mag and you will see many people complaining, rightfully so, about how some asshat took there elite strain copied it and sold it for a fraction of the cost.

There are no elite strains for sale that price fixing is in effect. There are ways to control that but this industry was built on the backs of the black market. There be no copy right rules brother, its China in this market.

People care about one thing most, themselves.

You must be missing the point. Look what happened when commercial cannabis companies started racing each other to the bottom. What happened ? Quality plunges. Flowers testing hot. Remediation at an all time high lol.
So given that, it sounds like the same exact thing is happening with clone vendors. Guaranteed the guy selling $20 clones isn’t testing and doing their due diligence to ensure you get a clean product. So to me it doesn’t matter. I have a great career. I do this because I live to do it but it has to make sense. I’m not wasting my life providing a quality product for peanuts. Thank god for me that many people choose quality and are willing to pay a premium for it

Well, cloney was mentioned in my post. I even gave a link to him.

I appreciate you putting yourself out there and good luck selling your cuts. I mean that, much appreciated.

You better do some real background checks to make sure the next asshat doesn't undercut your cost. Its going to be hard to find a market big enough for a guy to make a living selling elite cuts because you cant check whats going on in my mind or the next guys. I only need one of your clones and I only need it once and I am in business for myself.

If you only sell to vetted people its a tough row to hoe. Maybe its not about the money for you. Good on you brother!
Thats not what everyone is doing. They are in it to make money and they don't give shit about how good a guy you are. These are the facts, sorry but true.

Not many of the cuts exist no, but if I am the only one holding genetics, and I know someone is going to pull crap like that... that person is going to be paying up the ass to get ahold of my cut, or not getting it at all. Sure there is stuff that is passed around, but many of the breeders in the PNW that I know of, have their own created elites that nobody else has touched for this reason.

Many people, what number constitutes many people to you?

I am sure you are right in your instance, but this is a public forum not "eastcoastjoe" forum. You are arguing your case not the markets case.

I cant read your mind but it seems you are arguing that the general public gives a shit about your ethics of quality. Rest assured, they dont!! Ask around IC mag I'm not speaking in a vacuum.

Do you think that most people, including myself, came to this web site looking for ethically mined people. No, we came to gain knowledge and use it to our advantage.

That sounds like some bro shit right there. Someone who wasn't in the game during prohibition, but wants to capitalize off the growers before them.

Agreed, i have seen many people who will no longer share cuts on IC mag because of that reason. I missed out on the good ole days.

I was talking about making money/business. You don't make money holding on to the cut, my precious, for ever. If you sell it it will be pirated , end of story.

In my humble opinion...
And I'm for the plant, so my outlook is a tad different. But, there's no animosity to a guy or girl selling the same clean cut for more than myself.

I don't hate on anyone selling clones, for whatever price. That's how we get by.

I will however call out bullshit when selling dirty cuts, wrong lineages, scams...There's alot of fuckery...

It's a wild world , this plant attracts so many, so always feel out whom your dealing with imo..

Idk..I just live the plant... and want accessible genetics to those in need, Chad's need not apply.

Appreciate this conversation 😌 🙏

Enjoy discussing, not infighting as we all love this plant in some shape or form.

Now you are catching on brother.

I never have been anything but a lunch box guerrilla. The most I ever made in a year was $7K during prohibition. I grew to make money to grow again next year. Free smoke was all it was ever about.

I came here in 2005 to learn about growing and use that knowledge. Bro shit, just like you said. I know longer grow for anyone but myself, but at $7k/yr I never really did:LOL:.

There are so many other guys out there with more money than god looking for their next venture and you are on a public forum. There is no such thing as keeping a elite clone unless its just for yourself. Or they could go to cloney , he was stated as a good elite cut provider. Its a public forum and all the ranting we do means nothing to someone who doesn't use emotion to control his actions. Fucking bros heheheh.

The price will go down and there is nothing to stop it. The price of flower taught me that.

I’m speaking market and price justification. I could care less what you or anyone thinks. You’re missing the point of this thread though. The dude keeps getting dirty clones. You think large nursery / dispensary clones that are the cheapest price is the solution ? Get real

If you came to gain knowledge, maybe pay attention to what the people are telling you that have personal experience

Well, its a public forum. I came to throw in my two cents maybe its only worth 0.5 cents only you get to decide that, right.

You are 100% right the original post was about getting good, clean clones. I will give you that no worries.

I think if you read all the posts a few may have been a bit off topic. Not sure I have been on public forum thread that doesn't have a few off topic posts. By the way I am gaining knowledge with each correspondence with you, much appreciated. You know what we say in the sales world, "Kill um with kindness".

Good luck with your business venture.
