Are Organics people more snobby than other Potheads ?

It really kind of sucks that there is such division amongst us.
I love the O.G, I love the bubble. I use both 'refined' and 'organic' nutes....am I truely a misfit? I think not. It just really doesnt make sense to me why we choose to be weakend as a community, in lieu of our differences. If you think about it, we're becoming more and more like the people who have criticized us for centuries. The people who fear what they dont understand and hate what they cant conquer.

Why does it always take tragedy for us to realize that we're all in this together, and that our differences are miniscule to our similarities?

Stoned Cold, that was a bit dramatic...

however, in this case, it is not that people hate what they do not understand; as I understand very clearly the difference between organic/biological gardening as opposed to synthetic feeding.
I already explained the main differences, so people choose to use each method and its consequences according to the way they want to work... if some people think they need the chems to grow good ganja, that is ´ok´, but that does not take away the fact that the synthetic foods have a negative effect upon the environment.

so what now, r we gonna pretend synthetic chems are cool just because some can´t take some heat?

peace

That has nothing to do with the plant though, IMO.

That's not dramatic, that's a harsh reality. Dramatic is what I've seen happen in 8/10 discussions about nutrients.
I also did not direct my comments at you. REASON BEING; I agree with alot of what you have stated. Personally, I'm not comfortable using refined nutrients outdoors, but to flush them through a pot and then through the septic system, well, I guess it just doesnt bother me as much. I also use the LEAST amount of nutrients neccesary for a satisfactory yield.
BTW, what kind of car do you drive? Dont answer that, but DO go to that site(I forget the name) and check out your carbon 'footprint'. I'm sure you'll find that there are many more important factors that you could focus on, rather than picking on refined nutrients.
Who's PRETENDING that synthetics are cool? Who's taking WHAT heat? I dont get it?

Haha, yeah, I was thinking the same thing also. I wonder how many of the 100% "bad for the environment........" organics people own and drive cars. I live in a big city, and I've never even owned a car.

Those organics people with a car have probably polluted this planet 100 times more than I will ever do in my lifetime. And I find it quite funny to read about 'environmental' baloney everytime I go to the organics forum. If somebody is going to make a good argument for organic growing, then it should be based upon other things besides 'the environment', lol. Like I said earlier, I'm just a beginner, but I've been using both methods, and I'm just interested in growing decent buds, not being lectured about 'environmental' crap.

PERFECT example. Some folks give their plants what is best for them, not neccesarily the environment. It's sort of like saying "you should drive a prius, cuz it's good for the environment"....For MANY, it's just not practical. I know I dont buy my vehicles according to emmisions and such. I like safety, reliability and comfort;) Right?

greenhead: lol...Right on!
I DO want to go on the record and state that I DO show a GREAT amount of respect to the environment, but honestly it's not me that needs to learn more about it, so when I need grow info., it shouldnt be a factor.

True dat.

It would be nice if there were two organic soil forums. I know which one I'd visit, lol.

(1) Organic soil growing for treehuggers
(2) Organic soil growing (plant related topics only)

I do not drive a car, do not own one. too poor for that, you see, most people in south america have no cars  all my electricity is made cleanly, hydro-electric, just in case you are wondering about that as well.

just because people drive cars in general does not make using synthetic nutes any less harmful btw...

You were the one who brought up the environment. The environment has nothing to do with the plant.

If I visit a grow forum, I'm interested in grow info, not unrelated environmental, political baloney.

I've always used synthertic nutrients, but my ladies always get flushed religiously....every ten days during growth(for 24hrs) and every three days for two weeks before harvest... This is just what has worked for me though... Solid white flakey ashes, and always tastes good to the end with a proper burn.

To me..IMHumbleO..it's when people don't flush properly thru-out the plants' growth and nearing harvest there is a noticeable difference in taste and the way the weed burns...

I just don't see what the big deal is no matter what your technique is,...as long as you give it your best and do it with TLC...

I bet there was a lot of beneficial and decaying bacteria there that the plant just loved.

Yes we don't agree with you, therefore we must have either no experience or just did it wrong, unlike you, oh expert. Some discussion.

This is like saying "we all like good burgers, who cares where the meat came from - woof woof".

The only "power" you have is to shut your mouth and go away.

Well, like I said earlier, I'm already using a combination of the two methods at the moment. I don't make my own teas though, with a gazillion different ingredients in it.

Growing and the environment are pretty related in my books. Maybe that's the difference between organics and non-organics? Who knows?

hydroponics is a fad,,, just like wearing luminous odd socks and thermal-glow jackets.. in the long term it's non-sensical! chemical farming produces a larger yield at the cost of everything else around it!

while the coco growers are getting closer,, the traditional hydro growers are still playing catch-up IMO... no offense... hydro weed taste funny and produces a clinical effect on smoking. couple this alongside the fact that most hydro growers don't understand the analytically contents of the chemical feed they are feeding.

Im sure you have evidence supporting these claims?

I find it comical you all claim refined nutrients "pollutes the planet"... But if you cared THAT much about this planet, you would be out fighting municipal dumps that bury your garbage underground to pollute the earth, instead of bitching over whos got better nutrients...
