I got a few jars of different homegrown at the moment. It just happens to be I got two chronics-same clone- here grown at the same time. One in ebbnflow GH 1week flush, other soil with biobizz 2 week flush.

My personal preference is GH.

I use Organic nutes and grow in soil, but I would not say I am snobby, I am just picky, and I won't smoke poor quality herb.
I guess it is the same as going from a Mercedes to a Chevette

no both sides, in the long run, do not have equal advantages
one relies simply upon what nature makes itself and will produce no by products that wouldnt have naturally occured while the other takes much more energy (since it is not a naturally occuring process) and you are left with reactants which either do not occur, or at least do not occur in such concentrated forms, in nature and therefore present a danger if not properly handled

however, overall on plant growth, it will be the same if the availability of all the nutrients and water and etc. is the same and the plants being grown are clones (genetics will have an effect upon growth rates as well)
however some of the methods can ensure the availability and constant state of all the necessary nutrients so growth is of course better, but once again hydroponics isnt exactly a natural state for cannabis (some plants, sure) but not cannabis and therefore also requires a certain degree of processing things to construct the set up
but alas thats the world we live in today so why not?
i will also think that no matter what, outside in the ground is the best method
its just more connected, feels better

to produce nitrogenous fertilizer chemically(ammonia, anhydrous usually)
you are very often left with radioactive elements among other things

if you want nitrogen, go some legumes and the bacteria which form nodules will fix atmospheric nitrogen and then you can leave the plants int he ground and till them into the soil come spring or whatever and voila, you have added nitrogen back into the soil
it takes some time, but what are the reactants? seeds, nature, time (of course time lowers production but i'd say health is worth it...)
not radioactive chemicals!
the plant material also feeds the soil microbes and etc.
mycorrhizal fungus (the largest organism known on earth is a fungus!) can expand a roots availability to water and nutrients many many times over

at least thats my take on it...

:D see that's why someone made this thread

....and i made no reference to equality between the two, so dont get your panties in a bunch

10 feet chimes in again, what a trip this character is.... With his outrageous know it all nonsense... An admitted liar. Telling peeps one's pot is organic when it is not at all.....? That's almost criminal, but I would expect no less from the angry one that IC loves to hate..... Featuring the "Typical Cali - Non - Accountability" that I always talk about.

I CAN taste organics, given two samples.... Or whatever. I sure can taste chemmy weed......

I absolutely love our organic brothers who are so very careful about what they put into their bodies, but I wonder how many of them eat at McDonalds or buy chemically fed veggies at the market.

I grow organic and eat organic. I'm vegetarian too. :yoinks:

Let the :spank: commence.

Has anyone considered that maybe outdoor growers might like to use organics because they don't believe in pouring concentrated chemicals into the soil? Or they don't like using chemical insecticides?

There is an environmental side to growing organic too. It's not just about pot snobbery, of which this thread reeks. Why not all just take a toke and celebrate growing instead of this animosity. Each to their own?

What do you mean, the coco growers are getting closer?

Coco methods (with out drip feed) are adaptable to organic feed,, in turn this helps support microscopic bacteria and rhizomorphs (friendly fungi).

And also what do you mean about hydro producing a clinical effect on smoking?

I n I smoke lots of erb (used to make a profession from it.. lol). Flowers that have been subjected to chemical feed usually (not always) give a synthetic high,,, in the worst case a slight headache with tension in the back of the neck.

hope this helps

I'll start your count for you, Pops. I'm one. Not Mickey D's though. I got a real weakness for KFC. As for the veggies, yeah but only the last 2 years or so. I broke my wrist playing softball 4 years ago and was in a shoulder high cast for over a year. It didn't heal right so I had to have some bone cut from my hip area added to my wrist. Talk about fun for all. So my garden suffered badly. It's my assigned task today to get started on it again. I want my tasty veggies back.
I grow the way I do because I'm an old dog and I ain't learning new tricks. And I'm not buying what I can do myself.

I can understand not buying what you can do yourself. That's why I am not married and never frequent hookers!

I always thought some hydro growers were snobby. Same with dealers. However I must say my organic grows are the best out there LOL

In all seriousness I think products like open sesame, beasty blooms are not something that should be put in weed. And YES pot does taste amazing when grown organicaly, much better than when I use chemical crap.

Let's be realistic people - we should look at cannabis as an extension of ourselves - what would we feed ourselves - that junk that they put in refined foods (i.e. high fructose corn sugar, preservatives, colors, etc..) or the natural stuff right from the earth? Same with the plants - if you want to see your plants naturally very happy with minimal complaints or health issues then go with organics. If you are supplements freak for example and give your body extra pills for stuff then I can see why you would go the hydro route - its your mentality. Who we are is how we grow, just my thought - everyone's different. Don't hate, appreciate life, in all its forms...

Maybe this is one of the reasons the cannabis community doesnt get the respect we desire. If so much animosity surfaces on the basis of nutrient delivery, how 'respectable' are we?
I'm afraid we will never attain our common goals, until we can either set aside our differences, or embrace them.

Does this make sense to ANYONE?

Snob:

ORIGIN late 18th cent.(originally dialect in the sense [cobbler] ): of unknown origin; early senses conveyed a notion of ‘lower status or rank,’ later denoting a person seeking to imitate those of superior social standing or wealth. Folk etymology connects the word with Latin sine nobilitate ‘without nobility’ but the earliest recorded sense has no connection with this.
