BowTech is quality and innovation, PSE I don't like, they tend to develop problems and 'patent Pete' Shepley has few friends in the industry

Have you looked at Diamond bows by Bowtech? They represent good value for money

What's your budget?

I do like my Bowtech! The only complaint I have with mine is,the string silencers, they wear out fast, and the cable slide is not good.So I just remove it every time I put my bow away, and it seams to do the trick. When I left it on it would split in two,at the seam. Not good when at full draw!!!!!!!PS I don't like PSE either.

Have you tried the cable sliders Bomar make, really solid stuff

Jim Cox is a Bowtech staff shooter, or was, call him for a price and ask about the ranch hunts

I used a cheap PSE Nova compound for years. It was a nice little bow. Light weight, dependable, quiet shooter. All it ever needed was a new string/cable after I wore the originals out. Like the guy at the pro shop said, "take care of this bow and it will last forever". He was right. I shot at least 50-60 deer with it over the years. From my experience Ive got no complaints about PSE bows.

On a side note,I didn't get to go this year because of fund's,but you can bet I go shooting as much as possible!

i got a big budget so im definatly gonna spend coin and get a real good bow. i have looked at diamonds they seem ok for a first bow or something but im looking for a bit more quality.
. ive shot a few pse's one of the older gents from my club is sponserd by them and his bows are always great bows silky smooth great valley great walls. and he gets them free.

My bro also shoots a pse nova cpt. he has had it since about 7-10 years ago. i was just telling him last night when we came back from the bow club he cant shoot the same bow all his life. who knows maybe he can.

i most likely gonna get a mathews heliM or a hoyt maxxis of a bowtech assasin still not sure.

im a fan of zebra bow string and alpine cable slides preferable the mach 5

Your bro has one of the good bows that were around then, if your bro likes the bow then Dave Barnsdale will make him a set of limbs for $275 ..... his limbs are so much quicker and bring out the true potential of the bow

My Blue Mountains are 16yrs old, the riser and cams have never been bettered IMHO, the limbs on all 4 bows are ones I had custom made by Dave, his Classic X is my target bow and has the quickest, sweetest drawing wheels I've ever shot

He does custom split limbs for $150 a set, upgrade your own Bowtech

What is she going to use this for?

If you're going to spend $$$ on the rig, make sure it fit's her needs, a basic hunting bow is cheap, hence why I mentioned Diamond, most guys get their women cheap bows, good for you spending some money and getting good kit:tiphat:

any thoughts on arrow rest selection mines a real old school shoot through about 6 years old and my girls is a new wiskar biscut my goal for right now is a good medium between hunting and target. then once hunting season is through probably buy us some target type rest and befor next hunting season get us ones geared twoards hunting. for the first perchase im leaning twoads a QAD ultra for her and either the trophy ridge revolution or drop zone for me.

I use Bodoodle rests on all my hunting bows, whisker biscuits are OK in a tree stand but for stalking I prefer the ease of loading the arrow using a conventional rest, make sure you get the heavy duty speed fins

The Zapper holds the arrow in place and price/quality is good

I shoot a 05 Mathews Switchback. I 3d shoot and hunt, I don't do much shooting beyond 50yds on the range and less than that hunting.. I'd like to go pro, I'm good enough to go pro, but family and work wont allow it.

I don't ever see upgrading bows either. I totally LOVE my swiitchy, no complaints at all about it.

With a 6'6" frame I've been ALMOST ready to try the Freak from PSE, I need the draw length! Recently got introduced to the Elite Pure and I think it won me over. Dont know much about Elite as a company though...
