I'm sure that was a really healthy plant...hard to cut them down, but it must be done. Culling is a necessary part of what we do.

HB.

Yup, All the work to grow them to that point with allot of well structured tops.

It's still better than dealing with getting buggy clones, toxic clones, or keeping mothers with all the associated hassles.

outdoor at the batcave.....42 N -lat.
yes, near water with bats....lol

3 bigger ones (3 amigos) are my very first hybrid
(cherry bomb X pure red leb) F1s - 2 different phenos Ive noted
one of them has way better branch structure, leaves are more slender indicating a stronger presence of a sativa
(cherry bomb female) then the indica (pure red leb male)....
ya, i cant wait to try this one....lol

my 3 amigos are now pushing 7' tall and climbing

picture.php

above^ ....2 plants in 15 gal bags (experiment)
in foreground is a pure red leb female (finally got 1)...background center is a sunset sherbert, all other plants are my 1st hybrid (cherry bomb X red leb)

picture.php

above ^ foreground center, red leb -female, right side is baby hybrid

picture.php

above ^ the top of my 1 hybrid, pushing 7' tall, and climbing
just after misting/watering

picture.php

above ^ white pisitls now forming -check out the red stems on leaves....oh boy cant wait for this to develop
the red stems are predominately cherry bomb i believe, (seen it on the bomb), last year
it is exciting to see my efforts of last season,
begin to take shape this season in F1s

plants seem to be stable already at F1s...but may back cross next year into F2s
the cherry bomb strain i had is long gone, and so is the red leb, if i was going to back cross her, id prefer another red leb male,
give her extra leb vitamins in her linage...

my red leb (seed) was outta bekka valley
purchased 2 yrs ago...

beriut, - i deeply feel for y'all

judging by the amount of deer, there's no mountain lion around !

They eat the wet dirt around the garden. I should put out a water dish. They seem afraid to come close to the house where the other water is.

Come on in birds, eat them creepy crawlers

this is a great idea, - i think
but when i discussed this with my dad (he knows everything)
a walking encyclopedia - for real....lol

he says this about it....
he said in principle it wont work, because birds like many animals and mammals are either carnivore or herbivore......makes sense

that being said, a seed eating bird, will not want to eat insects (meat)

so according to his logic, you are attracting the wrong kinds of birds

to take this excellent concept you have, one step further
applying my father's logic of 77 yrs......how about a fat....like soot
my theory is any bird that will be attracted to, and gobble up soot
(white fat for birds) will be meat eating flying poop machines

give it a try, and let us know....if you then see a real difference
in your excellent idea....nothing like using natural predators to rid yourself of pesty insects....

i think you are on to something here......

I put suet out all of the time.
Most of them are seed/fruit suets.
Ive done personal trials to see which flavors the birds like the best, and will put out three at the same time and watch.
Ive learned that their favorite, by far, is the ones with mealworms. They go insane for those.
Ask your dad.
