Dropped by the swamp yesterday evening to check on everything. Plants are growing, the water wicking setup is working beautifully, and no pests/critters are messing with them. Now that's more like it. The next trip will be to drop off the remaining 5 Boreal lights. Also did a bit of bird watching while I was out there since I always carry either binoculars/a bird book/and notepad with observations or a fishing pole and tackle (believable alibis.) Saw a huge flock of doves take off right by my plants (they weren't bothering them) a blue heron, and a bunch of others. Very relaxing trip compared to last time since I was properly outfitted with long pants and sleeves and didn't endure so much pain.

Hi everyone,
in some countries and I’m assuming states within countries, carrying a rifle, fishing gear or towing a vessel (and probably other examples l can’t think of) give authorities “reasonable suspicion” to check your person or vehicle, you may be travelling in, at any time.
“Plausible deniability” is very different across the globe.
Educating oneself of local laws, is part of a growers arsenal. You could ask a law enforcement officer directly however, they can give you half answers. A lawyer for five or ten minutes could save embarrassment by informing you of your rights.
This subject may be worth discussion in it’s own thread for gorilla growers.
Cheers,
40.

The best tool you have is your silence. Once the cops have you, they have you and will not let you go.

The best way to get convicted is to talk. So SHUT YOUR MOUTH.

It's the cops job to put you in jail. Nothing you say will convince them to let you go. They got you. Period. Live with it because you'll be free soon, IF YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH.

If they want your name, hand them your wallet. At the very most say "I want to talk to my lawyer". Then you go deaf and dumb. The innocuous questions and micro interactions (like handing them your ID) are a distractions to put you in jail for a long time. If they want your name, let them take it from your wallet. That could get you off.

No matter what they say, or promise, or threaten, SHUT YOUR MOUTH. You're in their custody, so it can't get any worse. Unless you start talking or interacting with them.

Let me make this clear - Answering even YES or NO to any question, puts you in danger.
And for god sake, don't sign anything.

If you haven't had water for 4 days, and they ask you if you want some, don't respond. Got it?

These seedlings, I bent the stems on 2 of them a few days ago so the under-branches get a little more sun.

Fantastic advice Tycho,
“you have the right to remain silent”, use that right.

"Any lawyer worth his salt will tell the suspect, in no uncertain terms, to make no statement to the police under any circumstances."
--- Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson

Before being on the Supreme Court, Jackson served as
- United States Solicitor General,
- United States Attorney General,
and is the only person to have held all three of those offices.
Jackson was also notable for his work as the Chief United States Prosecutor at the Nuremberg Trials of Nazi war criminals following World War II. So you can trust his advice.

Really like your Faraday's cage concept :peacock:
Will be a smooth smoke for sure :dance013:

plants prefer cool roots over HOT roots, for sure.

would be interesting to see some studies.

i would think, when you stick your hand in the dirt and it so hot enough to be uncomfortable, that has got to slow something down.

in nature they are in the ground, so most of the time protected from that kind of heat. the above ground in a black pot situation, just something I got away with for a few years.

when i had the all black pots, i tried to deal with the heat by giving them afternoon water in addition to morning water.

after a while it does get to be like work :huggg:

in the pic with the 3 plants, they have the madrone leaves to take the heat of the sun.

also there is a natural aquifer that runs about 3 feet below the bottom of the pit, so they have a chance of dipping into some of the same water as some blackberry plants that grow along a 100 yard stretch of the ravine/ crevice they are close to.

As the year continues there's a huge difference between the size of plants and root structure between the pool and fabric pots

Easily pushing 10+ feet from top of soil, all plants have been treated similar.

Day 69 (July 15). Started to flower, around week 1 or 2. 48 inches high. Concerned I might run out of root room, only 5 Imperial gallons or 22 liters. Until last year always grown in the earth, so not much experience with container grows.
