Farmerlion even though that greenhouse has electricity and a tile floor it is still outside and it looks great. I was going to cry foul because of the tile floor. LOL! How many gallons are those black grow bags?
Hey brother,
I use single planted 35 gallon grow bags and I double plant 45 gallon grow bags. I have found this is the most productive way after several years of trying different plant numbers and verifying the actual dried weights after harvest.
The tiles are 3/4" marble tiles from a reclaimed bank many years ago. I repurposed about 200 of these tiles. I could have used another 30 or so, but they make a nice protective barrier for the 2" Styrofoam insulation under the tiles.

This really equalized temperature fluctuations. It has also been extremely durable for several years now. This is a nice thread.

IMG_1987.JPG IMG_1986.JPG IMG_1988.JPG Here are some photos taken July 6th of our 'community garden' plot in the village where l live in B.C.
There are about 60 plants left so far as the males show and get chopped. We are growing 2 strains this year. Some are 'Hippie Carl's' local yokel acclimatised strain from "up the valley" and some are my last years pollen chuck cross made from 2 of the now defunct 'Bama Seeds' "RIF KAFRINE" females (Moroccan KIF KETAMA X La Reunion K-1) and a Lebanese male from seeds l got from a dude in Zgharta, Lebanon the previous year in the mail. l am curious to see how my seeds do VS the local strain. We grew 'autos' in here last year, but the males were left too long and made seedy love to all the females. Very disappointing results last year. l have a few pics of the last year autos l think somewhere, eh?

Thats cool! Looks great! Why did you guys plant autos instead of full plants, would have had much better yield for the community! Probably have more where that came from. Thanks for sharing!

How many pounds do you usually get or expect in that greenhouse farmer lion? What are the dimensions? That was a good idea of reusing the bank tiles. They would be good daytime heat sinks and then help warm at night. Is your greenhouse a well kept secret?

Glen Vowell that is a big garden. We call that a truck patch around here. I think it is wonderful that you can have a community grow where nobody in the village narcs you out or rips you off. It gives me hope for the world. Hobbits in the Shire are real. I am in constant fear of LEO and thieves. But I kind of like the thrill of it in a moonshiner sort of way.

Farmerlion-- Excellent work! Got to be careful growing in greenhouses, the plants get so tall, it can become an issue. Also you know to monitor the temps in there. Got the fan going. How is it going keeping it cool? Love the Kushes in the back, 2 different phenos. I have similar phenotypes in my afghan stock.

Why are there holes in the top of the soil in the containers? Does that help aerate the soil, or is it a place to let water/fertilizer in?

Thanks for sharing!

iTarzan,
The greenhouse is a Farmtek 12'w x 20'l x 10'h it comes as an 8' high model. I bought heavy railroad ties, staked them together and raised it to 10' of total height. This ground barrier is easy to spray with vinegar for cleaning and dramatically cuts down on pests. I never use the roll up side for this very reason. All ventilation is through the front and out the back.

For several years the actual harvest varied, as I tested over 60 strains for onset of flowering and finishing times. After I had my baseline of preferred genetics, I started working towards my geographical latitudinal grails. The most dried cured buds I have had from the 19 grow bags is 18 pounds cured. I average between 12 and 15 pounds, this season I have a few new strains. I don't know exactly how much they will produce. I have 4 Chocolope and 1 White Widow x Thai?

Quantity is not my goal, quality and geographically acclimated strains are my goals. I donate everything to cancer patients, veterans and chronic pain sufferers, I always have. This season I'm finishing up my male for breeding and in the coming years I will be refining and releasing 3 strains of world class genetics for outdoor growers. (Moon Strangler Series)

I'm not a name chaser of crap at dispensaries... Landrace, geographical homogeneous strains that have a unique profile of cannabinoids and phenotypic expressions. (Hawaiians, Lebanese, Highland Nepalese, Thai's, Asian genetics and Mexican genetics like Oaxacan) from there I made selections governed towards flowering onset and finishing times with the broadest phenotypic expressions not THC numbers.

Love how big herb gets in those little 5 gal buckets. They aren't even hungry looking! Good work!

Got some pictures, stay tuned! :)
I have grown 10ft+ tall sssdh in 5 gal buckets an yeilded around 2pounds per plant some were over. Once they are flowering they'll need to be watered twice a day, an can potentially get knocked over if the weather gets bad. Only "down falls" lol. But they can be moved up against my house during bad weather to help prevent this.

Glad to hear you donate medicine to people who need it. Its too bad people aren't able to grow this valuable medicine for themselves. I give away/sell for cheap too. Don't feel bad charging for growing a crop. You deserve to make something for your efforts. It costs a lot to grow, plus all the labor it takes. Helps motivate you to get the work done. Its about that time of year to rotate out he old crop!

Looking forward to the strain releases! Thats fun stuff! In the greenhouse, you can finish those long flowering crops, making it possible to work the lines and hopefully shorten the days until harvest. Thats a lot of weight for a little greenhouse. Guess direct light helps increase yields.

Are you fully pollinating crops or cutting males once female flowers are small clusters?

gumzgi-- Thanks for all the excellent pics. Got some big plants going! Keeping up with the grasses there! Should yield pretty well! What is that mutated 3 leaf plant? It needs pulled in my opinion. Don't save the seeds. Unless thats what you're going for. Maybe thats good disguise if it doesn't hurt the plant too bad. I say it needs pulled.

Glen--Thanks for sharing some views from the garden. You guys are on it! I bet thats amazing to have some help on a big garden like that and be self sustainable. Hope you find more males soon. Getting them out early is the secret, it lets the females fill in the areas where males were pulled. I pull them very early. Using your fingernail, you can bump the preflower lighly to see if it has 2 claw-like parts indicating stamenate male, or a single tube indicating female. They trick you sometimes, so try to find 2 identifying preflowers when doing early, unless its obvious. Hope that helps. All my males are out now except the 2 choice pollinators. One plant still has small preflowers and could turn out male though.

I fully pollinate the crop for seed. I'm either all seed or all females banishing males the day they declare who they are.

I have 25 plants less males or male depending on the goals. A lite plant does 10 ounces a heavy hitter will go over a pound.
I did take donations from my last indoor grow to help pay for the greenhouse. And again after the first season of growing in the greenhouse.

I was blown away by the phenotypic expressions of greenhouse cannabis. I honestly felt bad about not getting a greenhouse years earlier. There is just no comparison between natural and artificial lights. Then to develop the Fungal Repositories System took it to another level of organics that I didn't know was even possible.

Since I had spent over a decade scouring the world for rare and elite genetics. When I brought them all together it has been very special.
Have a wonderful day.

Some lucky gals gonna get the business 🤠

I am bringing my males inside because I want to do a couple different crosses this summer and want to avoid a possible cross pollination. 2 Lebanese males on the left, 2 of my favorite indica moms on the right. Lebanese plants were extremely quick to start flowering. Not a pretty picture but they are hanging in there. It's the first time I have seen peaks of 38 inside my grow room.

Outside it's even hotter I don't event dare to look at the termometer, but my maple leaf mom is quite happy as long as she has some shade from 1 to 4 PM.

These are sativas I got from a friend of the forum, the cross is zamal x Jamaica blue mountain, they don't care about the shade lol. I sowed 3 seeds and got 3 females. I was happy with the number but later decided to sow 3 more to hopefully get a male or 2 to pollinate them. Late stoner decisions as usual. I am the worst at planning. Still got around a month until they start flowering hopefully.
