I've had a nasty case of powdery mildew on one of my plants. It doesn't have the resistance my other plants have.

Mixed that Essential smart water stuff with Green Cure and sprayed it on a few times. It worked better then the Green Cure alone.

Stopped the mildew from spreading and actually knocked it off some of the leaves with a minor infection. The worst of them that were all the way white weren't cured but I don't expect miracles.

Between stripping all the leaves and the Essential/Green Cure mix I've stopped it from spreading throughout a 2nd plant. Today I'll wack the worst lower limbs of the infected plant, the leaf has some powder but the bud sites are clean. And the upper part of the plant where the big buds are is uninfected. Dodged a bullet.

I have 2 plants with PM. Both Sativa's.

I can see why people don't like PM. It can reduce commercial value of a crop, and is hard to counteract. At least with spider mites you can do something.

I was just joking about the late spraying. This summer I sprayed sulphur, ethanol, hash oil, lemon juice, abamectin and nicotine. Mainly used them to rid myself of russet mites, but I haven't applied anything since early August. The impression I got was that the sulphur, lemon juice and nicotine were the most helpful ones. I also sprayed on the calcium foliar that I put on my tomatoes.

Haha.. Ok. Went right over my head. Abamectin hardly even puts a dent in those Russets. Forbid seems to be the best and abamectin mixed with forbid seems to be even better. I forgot what the name it's but they sell it pre mixed. I mix it myself.

I know allot of people that use nicotine in the form of home made tobacco extracts. Do you use a tobacco extract or what? I haven't done it because i was paranoid about tobaco diseases like tmv. Or do you use a commercially prepared extract.

Yeah abamectin didn't seem too effective to me either, I experimented with it at the recommendation of the hydro store guy, but I guess he probably knows indoor stuff better than outdoor. I'm not even sure if the nicotine was really helping because I sprayed it mixed with lemon juice, I made the tobacco tea by soaking 3 or 4 cigarettes in a pint of boiling water. It could have been just the lemon juice doing everying, I read somewhere or other that acidic sprays makes russet mite eggs fail to hatch. Maybe next summer one of us will finally figure out exactly what the magic bullet is for russet mites.

Been a good end of Sept round here . Few cool nights but morning dew hasn't been too bad.

Random NL from Peak thrown outside in Aug.

Didn't have room inside, wasn't sure of sex. It was throw it away or throw it outside.

It's forbid mixed with abemectin for sure with russets. Forbid works ok on its own. Abemectin does nothing on it's own but kick them back for a week. Together it works really well but somewhat difficult on big plants that have an established population. Once you have Had them in your garden, you kind of have to use it proactively the next year. Like use it on your starts, and a couple Times in veg.
I have definitely used the mixture to completely kill russets on small plants so i can save the genetics. Now i spray my mom's, i spray when i first plant and spray early July. Haven't had a problem again, even though i have high exposure.

Wondering how you have dealt with the rains? Harvesting?

Good luck

BgC

Ive just been really busy......yes it's rained 3wks straight here... finally a little break. I've got a few more smaller plants I need to harvest this week and a few large plants mid-late Oct if the rains stay away. I've cut some mold/mildew off my plants.... That's about all you can do. Really if my larger Cristal Limit KC Brains plants don't start to mold very much and I can push them into October it would be great!!!. Also hoping a few guerilla plants I need to check haven't molded. I'll be busy all week again with Dr appt s I'll have some pics and conversation when I get back

Great pics/plants guys!!!! Thanks for the pics:tiphat:

1st Anything Outdoor 2018 post of October, do I win something?

The plant on the right had a small spot of botrytis looking death on it's lower main stem so I cut it down and hung it up earlier today.

Loving the fall colors guys! Looks like its been getting cold there! We got pretty cold recently, but I didn't see any more than the leaf petioles turn purple.

Looks like we're going to have to harvest wednesday.

Several days of rain chances are coming up.

Got a couple new views for the garden. Enjoy!
