Pics as promised, just a bit late. Here's some pics of some current TGA gear in my garden. The QT cut is something I've had for a bit, the Plushberry and JTR were from seed. QT is a staple in my collection of genetics, Plushberry pheno #4 is the keeper. I've been farily unimpressed with JTR, but this #3 pheno is possibly redeeming itself in these final weeks of flower. Chopping the QT and some of the Plushberry phenos tomorrow, have to let the JTRs go to day 63-65 probably.

The JTR is probably the best smelling. That lemon/lime funk I can almost relate to Trainwreck. Mouth watering. Although the QT has it's own unique savory, pungent aroma.

So yeah... despite it all, TGA has some keepers out there.

One thing I don't like about Sub is he does spread some misinformation at times when it comes to growing. Also, his pride is a bit more abundant than it should be. Compared to the breeders who have done real WORK... growing thousands of plants, stabilizing and selecting traits etc, he is a pollen chucker. Undoubtedly.

He has indeed done quite well for himself, I will give him that. Theres a large amount of TGA fanboys out there who grow only TGA and nothing but... and spread his word like wildfire. I just wish those individuals would realize theres more to life than TGA.

.

What are those people thinking??
Obviously not much. :comfort:

His weednerd videos are definately 'facepalm' material. :)

I watched his Space Bomb video, where he shows the cola size as similar to his arm, and then says 'And I have pretty big arms.'
He 'seems' like a nice enough guy, but possible slight delusions of grandeur. lol

How do your Plushberries smell? Blackberry? Raspberry?

Thanks.

The #4 pheno with purple/magenta calyx's has a bit of a berry smell, otherwise pheno #2 has a pungent diesel/skunk sort of smell, #3 has a lemon/lime smell comparable to JTR, and #1, which is the least favorite of mine although a large yeilder with very dense buds, has a very light smell that is not enough describable due to all of the other funk around her.

Haha "facepalm" for sure. How about the video where he goes off about some "smalltime breeder" that was running their mouth about him, basically saying that'd be like him slandering emery, cervantes, etc because he's established himself in the industry and is "obviously" successful. Like wtf man. Haha. Be humble.

Like I said, passionate about cannabis - but he's got way more pride than he needs.

Try living with the guy..lol He was definitely ahead of the curve when it came to using long veg times and low plant #'s and growing organically. I don't think I remember anyone back in 2000 growing trees, SCROG was getting done, SOG was all the rage...Heck bubblers and BOG were all the rage..lol

sidenote:
If your looking for the agent orange magic pheno that is the huge yielder(based on what I have read in this thread)....get a cut of the cali-o he used as a parent and give it a nice long veg..I am guessing the occasional bean leans a little farther towards the momma..

Pure speculation on my part tho :)

Cheers
PS....EVERYONE HAVE A GREAT CANNABIS DAY TOMORROW :)

While i don't 'dig' subcool's style (who cares anyway), i will give another vote for Agent Orange.

Couldn't have really hoped for more in an Orange strain, yield, frost, structure & smell. A+

Been growing Dannyboy from TGA since overgrow days.Just fantastic.Great buzz, great funky cherry, church incense flavor. To be honest Grown a lot of his strains.was never really disappointed.

Grew "Jillybean" and "Ace of spades". Compared to other plants I have done they turned out ok. Nothing to get really exited about . May have just been I selected a so-so pheno. I usually won't keep plants that don't impress B+,A, A-,A+ my rating for what I had from TGA was at least a C+ or B-. Compared to the Larry OG for instance a solid "B+" ,Super silver Haze "A" and some other keeper mothers in stable. But this is just my opinion and everyone has one.

Have grown a lot of his stuff. Overall some decent genetics but I had his CheeseQuake auto flower on me, couldnt find a yielder in Querkle, and a lot of his strains just have a fruity thing going on. Personally dig more of the pledge/ fuely smells/ flavors.

I have two vortex females flowering for the first time. I've had basically two identical apollo 13bx in the past that grew exactly like these. However, those were spicy, woodsy, and earthy. These smell more like jack's cleaner....aka citrus/spice. The better of the apollos I ran a couple of times but the high was very racy. I LOVE sativas but this is where terpenes play a huge role. It was obvious at week 6 which vortex was the keeper based on past tga experience. And I kept the vortex that looks like the picture (more stacked sativa calyxes while the other beefs up slightly more). I've smoked some premie pieces but I'm cutting thursday at 8 week exactly. I think I'm going to keep her around until I find a jacks cleaner keeper that doesn't throw nanners..late nanners. Trainwreck style, not talking shit. Maybe she's with me for the long haul. It's interesting that someone said they ditched it for the jtr. I can see that even though I havent grow it. But what I think is so great about the jacks cleaner is that it doesn't have a burn out. It just wears off. Can anyone state whether thats the case for the jtr? I mean absolutely no burn out! I'll put my two cents in about the vortex soon enough.

The dispensary I go to is full of TGA strains. Tried Chernobyl, it was awesome. Only downside for me tho was that it made my nerves feel overactive, would cringe when I put my hands in pockets because the feeling of the fabric. High was great tho.

I meet subcool once upon a time on the west coast. He gifted me some beans and alot went hermie but he did warn me they were not his best sales stock. Like people said I think his strains are not very true breeding which sad to say is like an important factor for a breeder to consider before releasing a seed line...

There are very few breeders that bother to stabilize their strains anymore.
