any kiss users have exp. with veg+bloom

sprinkle it in until you hit the EC you want brotha. I picked up a 25lbr for 380 from my local shop and it's running me about $20 a light right now and we are producing sticky fire, a LOT better then what I see going around here, and I live in dank central with people running all kinds of ridiculous nutrient routines

I usually fill up the Rez and sprinkle before i adjust PH since the V+B is gonna lower it a bit anyways(for me anyways).

I used tap formula for the first bucket, now i just bought RO formula. The tap worked really well though not finished yet.

Guess I'll chime in since I've been using V+B for awhile.....I use RO water that comes out around 4ppm 7.0 pH. I use DM Zone as a rot preventative as I've found running a live rez with my RDWC mucks up all my pipes after a few runs.

In my 50g Veg system I'm mixing 50ml Zone and 2g of V+B which comes to around 0.8EC. I don't add back anything and change the whole solution out every 10 days so I'm on my second change out so far. For about an hour or two after mixing the pH sits at 6.0-6.2...but then TANKS overnight to 4.7-5.0. It takes about 25ml of liquid pH up to get it back to around 6.0, then tanks back down to the high 4's again by the next days check. My solution temp is kept at 68-70F and as I said I use DM Zone and my roots are bone white so I know the drop isn't from any rot issues. The system is fed air from a regenerative blower pushing about 3l/gal/min so I know it's also getting enough O2.

Really not sure what else it could be besides the new nutrient. Gotta say, the plants, besides the twisty fans from the pH swing, look great. No spotting from Ca- or Mg-, leaves are perky and good color...overall they look better than they used to when I was using GH Duo...but this pH issue is annoying and will eventually cause problems once they are bigger and in flower.

I'm seeing the last few posts about dropping pH but the problem seemed to be the pH up they were using...I've tried both GH liquid up and AN liquid up (supposedly the holy grail of pH solutions around here) and while the AN takes less to bring up, but still tanks overnight. If the pH wasn't an issue so far I'd be right there with you praising V+B.

On another note, I originally ordered a sample, then found out you only get 150g which wouldn't be enough for me to get a good impression so I ordered a lb a few days after they told me my sample would ship...got a tracking number for both but only received the lb. I had Emailed Chris a few times and he responded a few days later but when I asked about the sample (because I would need the lb + the sample to get a whole veg run) I got no response.

Also, in my emails with him (mainly about the low P and high N issues and asking him if they make custom formulas if you buy in bulk) I specifically told him I was using RDWC....then a few days after ordering I saw the post in this thread about how HR is releasing a new DWC specific formula so I emailed Chris again asking if this was true and that I'd like to return my unopened lb for the new DWC formula because I wanted to get the best test run I could, since this was going to be my test run for deciding whether to switch all my systems to V+B which would equate to over 50lb/month....again I got no response. I emailed once more to ask if he was getting the Emails, again no response. This was all to the same Email we were previously communication through so I'm pretty sure it's not a tech issue.

Don't take all that as me whining, I'm not, I know he's probably busy...I'm just posting my review so far overall.

Maybe it's just me but I don't use zone , don't use anything but V+B by itself at 1.8-2.0 and my pH is always 5.8-6.1 and crystal clear! RO so nada mas. not trying to make you feel bad bro just throws me for a loop

Beautiful.

The pH tanking has me wondering as well. The only time I get that is when stuff I don't want to grow is growing (slime/snot/whathaveya) or when the oxygen levels get too low and normal rot starts.

I'm a big fan of simple dwc tanks without plumbing... very few places for 'crud' to grow undetected.

Hydro ... As I'm finding out , anything living or organic doesn't seem to react well with the V&B . If you want to really give the V&B a good try , then use it all by itself a few runs ... leave the zone out of the rez & just try the V&B & PH it to the right levels . i'll bet your PH swings stop happening so fast .
I've added a few things to the rez & everything except drip clean has made the rez foamy . i've used cannazyme , Rhizo & the earth juice PH adjusters & every one of them made the rez foamy . i'm back on track with just V&B & drip clean .... i've been using GH to adjust the PH but have a bottle of AN's on the way here . but for 2 days now sense cleaning & sterilizing the rez & pumps & using the GH for PH adjusting .... i haven't needed to readjust the PH ... its right where i left it 2 days ago .

I'd love to know why I'm about the only one who has to PH down after mixing .
My RO is 25ppms 7.1 PH .... after i mix the V&B in..... my PH is always 6.4 or 6.5 & i have to PH it down to 5.8 .
even with my foam problems it always came back UP to 6.5

It seems the V&B don't drop the PH as drastic for me as the rest of you guys .... weird !?!?!
I do remember when i first started using the V&B ..... that i was happy that i didn't need to use any PH at all .... when i mixed it always came out to 5.8 to 6.0 depending on the strength . but that was a different place & different water source too .

So I'm thinking if Chris is willing to do a water annalisys & send you nutes formulated for your water ....( which we know he is ) its probably a really good idea !!!

i use tap water and need some ph down @ tsp/gallon.

i got 7 oz's off those 6 ssh from clone w/ 0 veg w/ 400w cmh
i must say, i've grown rom's ssh off and on since 08 i think and have never pulled such dense buds off her. i could only imagine what a bigger bulb could do for her!
it's also the earliest i ever pulled her, in any medium, and the potency is crushing.
real head spinner.
i'm personally going to have to chalk this up to the V&B
i've never ever ever in any other run of her got her to look and perform like this.
i am fucking sold, kicking maxi to the curb!
nah, j/k i wont toss that maxi, that's wasted $ and i ain't big pimpin.

Ok... so, coming from someone who's used to using Maxi or Flora at 8/16... this confuses me.

Are you guys maintaining a steady pH with this stuff?

I've spent 10 years getting the best results with a full pH swing in DWC... so... this really makes me curious. Once I mix a tank and set the lowest optimum pH... I usually only have to use nutes to drop the pH from that point on. I also don't dump my res until I harvest.

How many of you V&B users maintain a steady pH in your DWC and how many do the swing??

No , not rock steady . it will come back up for me but it takes longer than a few hours like it was with the EJ crystals i was using .
I use an 18 gallon rez , & it will normally come up a little every day like from 5.9 to 6.0 the next day . i can set my rez @ 5.7 when i fill it & by the time its empty 4 or 5 days later it will be around 6.1 or 6.2
Thats a normal rez situation for me , but i was the guy having all the problems of foaming & PH raising in a few hours time . i stopped using the EJ crystals & I seem to be back to normal again . its only been 1 rez fill sense switching .

but yeah ... normal a rez of V&B should climb from 5.6 to 6.2 in about 5 or 6 days time . i'm not sure if its the same for guys having to UP their PH . & mines DTW not recirc .

For me, the pH drops unless the concentration is pretty low. I bring the pH up to about 6.2 when I mix up a fresh batch, and let it swing down to about 5.7 over the course of 8-10 days. At the end of the run when the EC gets taken down to around .8, it seems to hold steady wherever I put it. And, like Dan, it's DTW.

Ok... dtw is different since you guys are using the medium drying out to drop the pH. Your 'optimal' pH range in the tank is going to be a much narrower range near 6.

Anyone using DWC care to chime in? :)

The npk ratios changed slightly to 15-10-27 from 16-10-30. Wonder if this change will make a difference if so what is, also the labeling add more things to it...

Hey Rives ... have you tried using protekt as your PH up ? the added benefits of the protekt is really worth using !!! i've been using it for years & its great stuff ... i just can't use it here cuz of the different water source & how it affects my overall PH ... so i'm adding powdered DE right to my coco when i do the transplants . its amazing how much a little silica helps strengthen up the plants .

Hey Rives ... have you tried using protekt as your PH up ?

I tried it for one run and really liked what it did for the plant, but it made my pH really volatile. Where did you find the powdered DE? I would like to add some silica, but for whatever reason, my water chemistry just didn't work with it.
