Yeah.....I really don't think that insulting people is the correct way to debate a topic Jim.

...no matter what passion you may have for your style of politics, there are others that might not agree with it, and just because we are on an internet forum site doesn't mean that you can just randomly insult people by painting them all with this 'liberal' brush that you are using.

Many members, my self included,... do not identify as any particular political persuasion. So we are not liberals, or conservatives, republicans nor democrats......

i dont think so. calling out dumbasses wherever they are makes me happy. fo

To cause irreparable harm to a good cause by being an abusive jerk, because "it makes (you) happy", is pure selfishness and stupidity. In fact, you're causing such harm to the 2A that I suspect your on the other side of this fight, pretending to be a crazy idiot. If so, then you're doing a damn good job of helping to destroy our Constitutional Rights.

Looks like Babba gave Jim another holiday from ICMAG...

Not as if Jim really seems to care, but we must have some rules of engagement on ICMAG...

Indeed! A 'polite' society that seems to value its gun-rights more than it values the lives of innocent children???

Our gun rights do protect innocent children. There are over 30,000 gun deaths a year here...around 3,000 are murder. Suicide is a bitch and it accounts for most of it.

CDC Survey On Defensive Gun Use Was Never Publicized

Defensive gun use (DGU) happens more regularly in the United States than gun crimes, according to data the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) never publicized.

Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck has been arguing that point for a quarter of a century, saying that his own research led him to believe that DGU was far more prevalent than gun-control advocates claim.

The CDC’s data, collected a few years after Kleck’s survey, appears to corroborate his findings, Reason.com reported. The question asked in the CDC survey addressed the use or threatened use of a firearm to deter a crime. “During the last 12 months, have you confronted another person with a firearm, even if you did not fire it, to protect yourself, your property, or someone else?”

Kleck, upon reviewing the CDC’s data, noted just how close it came to mirroring his own.

The final adjusted prevalence of 1.24% therefore implies that in an average year during 1996–1998, 2.46 million U.S. adults used a gun for self-defense. This estimate, based on an enormous sample of 12,870 cases (unweighted) in a nationally representative sample, strongly confirms the 2.5 million past-12-months estimate obtained Kleck and Gertz (1995)….CDC’s results, then, imply that guns were used defensively by victims about 3.6 times as often as they were used offensively by criminals.

Many gun control advocates have complained about the fact that the CDC is limited with regard to research on gun violence. A 1996 amendment to a spending bill bars the organization from using congressionally allocated funds to “advocate or promote gun control.”

What those fighting for stronger gun-control generally leave out is the fact that the CDC is not barred from doing any research on gun violence — and the research it has done in the last two decades has largely corroborated Kleck’s findings.

Jimbo...crazy. You come to the table with facts and then, like a monkey, throw feces all over the place. For shame.

Hopefully it was not a perm ban and just a time out. If so I suggest you come back willing to debate rather than insult. You even insulted people that agree with you....:comfort:

I don't even remember reading anywhere where people were disagreeing about the fact that most murders happen in inner cities so I don't even know what his problem was. You started this thread about a specific topic which was school shootings and he kept demanding that we talk about all shooting deaths for some reason. Then when people tried to return to the topic at hand he screamed and cursed at us calling us hypocrites among other much worse things. That dude was the definition of unhinged.

Nobody disagreed with him.hes either schizo or was just trying to cause a scene.if its the former i hope he gets his meds.

ANYWAY!back to the reason i made this thread. The kid in Dixon tried to get his 2 million dollar bond reduced and was denied.im kinda surpised he even got a bond. he cant pay it anyway.i actually know exactly wich cell hes in.my dad and i know that small ass jail well.lol

I'm surprised too that they'd even give mass murders a bond of any amount that goes against basic logic. Some of these kids if not all were bullied but everybody goes through shit at some point in life and they got no right taking it out on innocent people. Even if they were picked on heavily they need to realize that school is temporary and you'll likely never run into those people again after graduation. There's much more to life

just thinking on same odd tangent......Maybe school bullies might think twice about bullying other students if they thought they might come to school one day locked and loaded?

...I always found that a good form of defense was to act kinda crazy in jail, then most bullies would not want to fuck with you thinking that you would just go apeshit and retaliate to any bullying violently, because you just didn't care about your own survival.

Lmao even if you're not the biggest at least act like you're the craziest and they'll leave you alone. I'll have to remember that advice hopefully I never have to use it though and hopefully you guys dont have to use it again either. With everything's that's happened in recent years you'd think they would've figured it out and tried to be a little more compassionate and understanding to one another but we unfortunately haven't evolved that far yet. It's 2am I'm calling it a night peace hawk and gypsy have a good one dudes.:tiphat:

The first thing to do was to find out who was actually running the jail/detention place......

From the outside it looked like the Warden ran the jail......But from the inside it was the Korean mafia that actually ran the jail, and the Warden and the guards were on the payrole of the Koreans who got just about every privileged you could imagine...

So what made sense to me was to be-friend the Korean mafia boss Michael Tan, who could hardly speak English, and my Korean is about 4 words.....so we had a translator, made fast friends and although I only had a couple of dust-ups......I was spared from what others got because of my friendship with Mr Tan....

As insecure as many adults can be, elementary and middle school, even high school, is a place of social niche-finding. Sorting cliques and membership. Who's cool and who's not. Self-consciousness reigns supreme.

For kids who are truly tormented, every day , waking up, having to go to school, knowing that there -will- be multiple persons (like a wolf pack feeding) haranguing, mocking, tormenting, bullying, demeaning, etc. 5 days a week on regular weeks.

There's kids who kill themselves over such stuff.

It's not light teasing in many cases; it's seemingly inescapable torture of sorts that has the kid feeling trapped and hopeless..

The boy who tried to break my older son's arm in the door (that wasn't his only effort) had been held back, and despite violent behavior, was still in a mainstream classroom on a behavioral plan for anger and aggression.

I had a good relationship with the principal there.

When the issue occurred with the kid trying to break my son's arm, I had a frank talk with him on the phone. I told him that as a former licensed MH clinician, I didn't give a flying fuck what the kid's issues were, that a kid with that sort of propensity didn't belong in a mainstream classroom where other kids were at risk by his presence, and that we were now talking about a fairly serous assault. Potentially a felony, and at least a decent misdemeanor.

I told him that either he had a serious talk with the kid and the parents, or I was coming to the school myself, dealing with the kid in question, then heading to the kid's house to deal with the parents/father in a more than assertive manner.

But that kid wasn't the only source of torment for my soft-hearted son. There were daily issues with others. The whole process of identifying the beta wolves among the pack results in someone being the target. My son was it for what was probably a 5-7 year period.

I came to hate parents who thought such behavior was cute, or a mark of their child's toughness/machismo. Parents who themselves never grew up, and gave atta'boys to such kids, who, in many cases, were a reflection of their parents' values, or at least their willingness to tolerate such things.

My kids were already occasionally cut off from friends by their friends' parents, due to their parents' views of my activism; years of pursuing legalization, or other issues. Small-mindedness that kept some of their friends from being able to play at our home.

I think it's difficult for folks who haven't witnessed that kind of torment to understand the toll it takes on young persons.

Alas, Poor Jim.

Once I realized he was bonkers I felt horrible about engaging at any level. Jim was an angry dude and really didn't get it. Definitely not a Blue Oyster Cult fan.
