Another Crappy Day in Paradise....Embracing the Suck.

It may be sunny over there but is has been raining here. Looks like I will have a wet summer.

I feel ya DB. On my side of Maui we've had a really wet winter and spring with gale force winds too, like oldhaole said, but maybe it's turning around. The last four days have been nice and sunny.

Why are you rattling my cage?

Do you believe this? I know I sure didn't.

Here's a new development.... Green Harvest is working yet again. Had our own little version of Apocalypse Now. This morning. At least today we had a warning.... though I can say we didn't believe they'd fly again so soon.

The past few weeks the weather has been a zero sum game. An either /or proposition, where only half the island has perfect weather, and the other half basically sucks at the hind tit. For a couple of weeks, while the trades were cranking, we had wonderful sun all day long. The North side got pounded, and you all heard DB and all the other Windward siders whine about it. Now the trades have slacked off, Casper and I have had four days of afternoon rain. Thought today would break the wet streak, but no, it sprinkled at sunset this evening.... ensuring the girls another wet night....so I guess now you all get to hear me whine. If Casper won't I sure as hell will....Fuckin' rain.

Happy days.

So two weeks ago, when they flew last, the trades were cranking, which meant they had to take a pass on flying half the island. My guess would be they are catching the areas they missed, but then they pop up here, so I don't know what to think.

It appears they are well funded this year.

Persistent little fuckers aren't they?

So hats off to the bull.
No giving up.
Either way, it makes ya mad.
Well, some of us
Hats off to the bull, keep giving all.
What ya say we make amends?

I was a few over....but not anymore.

Shit....more trimmin' tonite. Cry for me.... I drink your tears.

All our needs put together
don't bleed on their own.
You've paid for an eyeful
so behold the bull.
Why can't I look up, out in the clearing?
Tell me what's there below, end over end?
While he's safe for the moment, guess what I'm learning?
He's never safe from the crowd.

You know I've been waiting to work this one in....what can I say?

Anyway....

New problems surface....

Abundance.... yea I know. Shitty place to be.

Everything here is stuffed, loaded to the gills out there, and the room is firing on all cylinders. There's nowhere to put the overflow. This is where the gulch came in handy, but my partner quit that job, and it's not like we can stand at the lip of the gulch spraying stolen water over onto our plants below....anymore....like we used to.

Since GH is done....for how long I can't say..... but....I'll go out on a limb, and say a month.

Taking that as a given.... one month.... look ahead, what will be gone by then, and replant those holes now. There's ten down. Shed more. OK. We can push out the Scogi's early, we have another wave behind, so those can go outside. If they go off early, BFD, the replacements are there.....

That still leaves.....give or take.....ten left....

What can we do with them? They need homes. Do we dare return back to the scene of the crime?

Gotta go somewhere.

It's a problem... not a bad one....but..... maybe we will have a canefield trip or two this year. Anything is possible.

To be monumental
could mean the beyond.
The simpler the treasure
means the higher the cost.
Well as for the ending, damn right I'm learning.
You might ask for the door, end over end.
Well I hate how the clouds hide
the gasps from above.

I like it... it fits.

Now onward, to the noises from the peanut gallery....

You Asshole! Did you just say that?

No, my evil twin Skippy did....pay no attention....he won't be back....the others have eaten him.....eeeerrrrrr.....explains alot doesn't it?

Grey....Dude....talk about reinvent the wheel! It's a watering system, not a nuclear reactor. Glad your able to save those five minutes and all that back strain. Was it worth it?

I'm sure it was. Maynard has a winery. I know. Slacker.

And as for fishing....we need bait. Money won't work anymore. That means my old white ass has to hop in the water and see if I still have the eye. Don't hold your breath....looking at this weekend.

Here's that Bluedream/Urkle thing from whoknowswhere.

Backyard..... Thanks.

Canni....nice to see you again.

DB....Feeding the ghosts....while fun....aaaahhhhhhfuckit....don't feed him.

Relax... it'll dry out. Nice looking OG there.

Liteweight....there flying. I didn't believe it until I saw 'em.

Casper..... back to your cage.

Hats off to the bull
His time ain't up.

Maybe the hit Maui before the BI nowadays. Last year they came on a Friday right about now.
Wish they didn't count seedlings as plants lol I got to get my ass over to Maui for some R&R Wife B-day coming up soon. Mahalo for the gh update OH

Since there's a bunch of Hawaiians' in this thread...I feel justified in a teeny-weenie hijack. I'm curious if anyone here is close to the University of Hawaii at Manoa...? NORML is saying they're starting a pilot program studying industrial hemp for soil toxin-removal and hemp's potential as a biofuel.

Hopefully it's in a sealed greenhouse or lab. Sounds great on paper...but I'm doubtful they'd cull the males... Just wondering what y'alls thoughts are on this.

Everybody must be busy with long season here.

My malawi clones started revegging 8 weeks into flower. How's that? I think I'm just going to cut off everything but the bottom bud sites and see what happens. I think they'll go beast mode for the rest of the summer. Anybody have any experience with this?

Also do any of you guys on Maui (or other islands) know the artist Richard Fields? I have a buddy trying to contact him about some art work he did in the 70's. It was for a T-Shirt company owned by a guy named Tiny and apparently Richard did some amazing art work.

Rusty, Mark Merlin over at UofH at Manoa teaches botany and ethnobotany and is the resident expert of cannabis. He cowrote a massive tome on cannabis with Rob Clarke last year that should be mandatory reading before asking pot questions online.

Thanks Weez. Informative article. So the planes a Hickam will aid in scattering the pollen. Cool.

Luther: Sorry if my question was that vague. But it really had nothing to do with the industrial uses of hemp, other than it's geographical proximity to medical gardens. Is hemp useful for many industrial, commercial and medical applications...? Of course. But did Merlin address having a local hemp garden dropping boatloads of hemp pollen during the growing season(s)? If your medical garden is downwind from that hemp field...I'm guessing that THAT would really suck. And it would likely suck every year.

Ah sorry Rusty. I thought you were inquiring about the program itself, but your question about nearby farmers getting hit with pollen seems obvious now.

There are huge uses for hemp and we'd better figure out how to play with hemp around us as sinsemilla producers. I think you're starting from a loaded position worrying about "dropping boatloads of pollen". I do not believe the concerns for blowing pollen from one plot to another are as large as hacks like Jorge Cervantes lead people to believe. In a humid climate with distance, trees, etc I do not foresee huge cross pollination. Someone will undoubtedly reference supposed pollen clouds from morocco blowing to Spain but evidence shows quick dropoff in viability of pollination as distance increases. If you had a great open plains with a couple miles of windswept distance between the plots maybe, but I think most of this is theoretical worrying on the part of drug producers.

One more minor piracy, with apologies

One more minor piracy, with apologies

Hickam is adjacent to the Honolulu airport.
Half the time the pollen will blow out to sea.
The rest of the time?
Worst case?
We all go back to smoking seeded weed.

I'll get wealthy selling album covers and shoe box tops. :D
(Only the old farts will get that one.)

Sorry for the

Wee
