I recently cut cable and got a new internet package at 150mbps download speed. I watched the last ufc and it was flawless up till the co main and main event where it started to buffer a bit. I have the ott box m8s+ and im not sure if its the unit itself but the playback of live sports seems horrible.

Again last night, i found the ufc and it was damn near unwatchable. 10 seconds of action and 10 seconds of buffering. All live tv seems to be doing the same. At this rate, i dont think it will be long till i am back to cable. Im going to try new cables and look into a hd antenna but its been pretty frustrating so far.

I had to watch a standard on sportsdevil myself. The servers were blasted last night during the fights, some prefer to just watch a nice HD replay, an hour or so after the fight, or the next day. Better than nothin, forget cable, shits like a damn car payment these days, fuck them...

Just ordered a M9S Android TV Box 2GB RAM 16GB ROM Amlogic S812 Quad Core AP6330 from Amazon. Seems to get pretty good reviews, fairly current and sub $100. Ordered a separate keypad with it. If it's all that and a bag of chips, I'll get one for boys at school.

Movies, and tv shows are fine, but weekend traffic is starting to be a bitch on some live tv addons. Maybe Krypton might resolve or help some hopefully, it'll evolve with the higher usage at some point...always does..

S812's good dude, pretty high Antutu score(speed/efficiency). Yeah they're great for the kids rooms...

tbh its more your internet service then kodi it self its only as good as the internet you have have never had issues with kodi an watch anything you need to clear your cache you have to many programs running in the back ground :) :tiphat:
That is causing you issues

I clear my cache constantly and have cleaned up the install. I have new cabling, new highspeed modem/router, 150mbps download speed. Maybe i can look i to this no cache setup but the box should be adequate hardware so i am really stumped as to what the issue is. On deman is no issue at all. Live programming is painful.

Last night certainly was...3 or 4 addons aren't working at all today b/c last night broke them. It's not your hardware, cables, router, or 150 mbps speed...I have half of that damn, 150's close to business grade lol.... There needs to be some addon server/kodi server upgrades is all, to handle Kodi as it gets bigger, maybe with Krypton...:tiphat:

Downloaded tdb wizard i think it was and used the tools to clean up the bufferi g issues etc and it was a very slight improvement but its still quite frustrating to watch anything live. Im watching the prelims for the ufc right now and its just constantly buffering. Its basically unwatchable and im almost at my witts end with this crap.

Are all software hardware up to date
Cause obviously there is something going on i can be downloading a big file and watch a movie with out any lag

if you want i can go into your pc and look for issues either out dated drivers or something re download kodi latest beta release and we an see what is going on maybe that is all you need is a new download release
check your video drivers if there up to date

He's got a new device, and movies aren't the problem he says. It's the live streams, which the last couple weeks have been buffering, at least on HD streams. Tonight was a lot better than CMG/Diaz 202. What I do is before the event, I make sure I have the latest versions of sportsdevil, and other sports addons, go through and find the best quality STANDARD definitions(sd), and save them to my favorites. Lately, on weekends, I don't bother fuckin around with hd. They need to upgrade their servers for the increase in kodi users on weekends, it's not the hardware. Until this is done, maybe with the release of Krypton, stick to standards. The 8/22 updated sportsdevil has a good #, and improved. Other pay options are available for live tv, like USTVnow, Sling to name a couple...all cheaper than suck my balls cable...

I did end up finding a better stream in sd. Most live things buffer like hell, much more with hd. I have an ott box m8s+ which says it will stream 4k content. I have 150mbps internet, new cat6 cables and a new modem/router.

I might try to wipe out the box and reinstall everything again. 99% of the time, there is no issue with on demand content. Its strictly live stuff that is chapping my ass.

None of the M8's I've tried handled 4K at all. It says it does, but it doesn't, it's horseshit. Except for maybe 4k youtube or something like that, not kodi. Shield's the only one I've tried that plays a 4k movie in length, but I've only tried 3 boxes. You should be good with 1080p tho. The new Mad Catz Mojo has the Shield chip it seems at half the price, may try one in the kids bedroom...but I returned my M8, blue triangle light on the front, they're all the same, 100 different so called companies sell that same exact box...with the S805 or the S812. Fine for the bedroom, but not my living room...
