me and you 215 are on the same page, just arguing opposing sides, trust if i knew the persons intentions were to harm then i wouldn't feel too much guilt, i certainly would mourn the loss of life though...

and yes i agree that guns and grows equals bad image for the medical marijuana scene...but what about dead growers and dead victims like the face of the poor growers up in shasta who were brutally murdered...

there are martyrs in every struggle for freedom, when we have the freedom to grow we'll have the freedom to protect it with force...

most of us who grow are not normal folks...it takes a certain level of insanity to commit felonies on a daily basis risking years in prison as our livelihood...im no thug gangster but im not saint either,
real shit, respect

im out of this convo for now cant argue online forever...

If you are scared of guns, you might has well be scared of a hammer.

Guns are tools for a certain job.

As far as having a gun and a grow, probably not the best idea.

Better to have one of these.

The best defence is nobody knowing about your shit. Can't steal what your not aware of.

Second line of defence is my nine dogs. A snarling mob at the fence will stop most thieves. Far more effective than any gun. They are doing what they are trained to do. If it happens on my property I won't go to jail for their actions.

My dogs have caught rips before, so they have a reputation. We're an island, so that reputation spreads. It's not a bad thing if people know that so and so got mauled ripping.

Absolute last resort is my shotgun.

Hawaii gun laws are so strict that a fellon can't posess ammo. Mandatory jail time.

the 2nd is just one my most passionate things aside from growing marijuana....

also back on topic....the safest bet is to NOT GROW WHERE YOU LIVE...i know not everyone has that luxury. but its the only real way...hopefully one day i will move out of this grow house and live somewhere else where i can keep an arsenal around me at all times lol..

Well guys this is always a heated topic and everybody is going to agree and disagree on different levels.

Personally; I never have guns around my home or garden unless I need em.
I have been shot and shot at. I have been in the thick of armed robberies and home invasions. I've also been in the thick of more than a couple police raids.

I know that my training and instinct take over and how I handle myself in dangerous situations. I once took out an armed robber from 20' with a sugar jar.
A criminal is always different than a cop when they enter your home or property: A criminal is "trying to not be detected". A cop is looking for a bad guy to shoot.

If a criminal enters you can usually intimidate them into leaving by making your presence known. A gun will usually reinforce your presence.

However if a cop enters, he is prepared to shot and kill you or anything that he perceives to be a threat, you can't intimidate him or you will be shot. A gun or even the known presence of a gun is enough intimidation to provoke a cop to shoot on site.

Since I grow marijuana in my home, I am potentially inviting both, criminals and cops to break my door down. I know it, they know it and anybody who doesn't know it is a complete idiot. Marijuana attracts cops and thieves. It's that simple.

So "knowing" that it isn't a matter of "IF" cops or thieves will break in, it's a matter of "WHEN"... I am prepared for both occasions as well as I can be.
I have kids and a GF who live here as well, so to reduce the risk of a cop shooting one of them, I make it known that I do not own any guns and won't allow them in my home.
On the other hand, a criminal wouldn't make it 6 feet inside my door.

it's called ego-trippin. Nice homes, people with flashy cars, and people who talk a lot or brag, are the first to get robbed. That and the ones who look like easy targets. The rest are just random and desperate acts of robberies

I left this open because I thought a discussion regarding what charges could be involved with ammunition might help some people.

As usual it's turned into comments regarding "shooting to kill" and other things so I have to close it as we don't need that kind of discussion here.....
