Remington's reputation hit some obstacles with their trigger safety fiasco years ago, regardless of the degree of validity in all of those complaints. Their sales were suffering long before the more recent school shootings and marches against black guns..

They were once-upon-a-time one of the reliable and commonly known domestic sporting arms manufacturers, and have slid down-slope now to the extent that those that were department store manufacturers of firearms 40+ years ago, are now the standard for utility-grade sporting rifles; Savage, Tikka, etc.

Years ago we hunted with bolt action Model 700s, and older pump action Remington .30-06 models, as well. Baited black bear with a custom 16" shorty of a Model 700, the last time I baited bear, about 31 years ago.

These days, when someone approaches me about selling a Remington, I want to know what vintage and more, before I give it any serious attention at all.

Remington files for bankruptcy, downturn in AR-15 rifle.

Remington isn't even a blip on the map of AR's, and bankruptcy doesn't mean they're going out of business.

Colt, Sig, Ruger, and S&W have picked up the slack on AR production, along with many smaller companies.

We're going to need them.

Trump is going to take our guns just like Obama was going to.

And the next President.

And so on.

And so on.

The guns aren't going anywhere.

Period.

Find something else to do.

Or bring those ARs to a drone fight and start the revolution.

Abortion doesn't register as murder for most nonreligious people.

Most reasonable people consider raising a child of rape undesirable.

Most understand Down's syndrome tests are offered for a reason.

Down syndrome babies and rape account for about 1% of abortions....... 1 in 700 born have down syndrome.

I wonder what the child of that rape would think about you calling them undesirable.... that is a person you are talking about........

Whatever you have to tell yourself to make is sound reasonable. How about the majority of black babies in New York city being aborted? What about the other 99% of babies that are not products of rape or down syndrome? Should we justify away their lives with false equivalencies?

Mean mr mustard was more than likely meaning that people consider rape babies undesirable because of the fact the child was conceived by rape a heinous crime... true that baby is an individual.. but no one should dictate whether or not someone is to have an abortion... for that is someones body to make their own decision on.. which neither me nor you (Easygoing) have a legitimate say so in... it is not our ship to sail, understand?

Im not even going to get in it with dowb syndrome because that is not anything i personally care to discuss, especially with the real problems this world is facing, and i mean a plethora of problems.... this world is in a serious SHIT STORM

And all most of us do is just point our fingers at irrelevant shit (dictating others freedoms kinda shit)

So ill sit back and dab away...

Peace :tiphat:

Remingtons problems (mostly) stem from their offering (per customer requests) an adjustable poundage pull trigger. the lighter the trigger pull (up to a point) the more consistent groups you get shooting the firearm because you move it less in the action of pulling the trigger. problem being, too many customers adjusted theirs down too low from what i have read, beyond what was actually safe. hence, you could conceivably set the rifle down and "pull" the trigger without it actually being touched, just from the momentum of the weight of the trigger itself. unless you are in the Olympics, or shooting at 1000 yds in International matches, you do not need a trigger that drops below 4 or 5 lbs. assuming the pull is smooth, anyway. too many firearms today have triggers designed by corporate product safety attorneys in my experience...

I like my triggers to break right at 2 pounds with no creep. 4 or 5 pounds is heavy for an accurate rifle.

I just wanted to see if you even thought it possible to justify.

I don't believe an aborted fetus would have much to say. Rape or no.

If you obsess over unborn millions why don't you consider the millions that are hungry and cold that are actually here?

Do you even understand what drives logic leading to abortion?

Or are you swept up in demanding that it cease?

Seems to me, trying to take guns away from Americans, they had better get body armor that will stop more than a .357 mag.

If push came to shove and they were determined to get your weapons (not saying i think they should) don't you think they would have more effective methods than to get into a gun fight?

If you were saying you wont give them up, they could send a drone over or something with sleeping gas or something, walk in, take the guns and you wake up later with no guns, or in jail.

I know it seems radical but it's just one reason the 2nd amendment seems pretty archaic.... of course governments will always have more options than citizens.

Game on then mofo - we can build drones and counter drone defences too AND THERES MORE OF US. If it comes to the publics attention that what you described had happened ONCE - that it, its time to overthrow that tyrannical government. There would be international support from Russia, Mexico and Venezuela at least

In a lot of states it is not known who has what. Not every state has "registration". Many guns are home made, many passed down through inheritance and given as gifts, sold and bought privately.
Authorities may know that you own a single particular firearm but not know about the other ten stashed away.
How are guns going to be confiscated when they dont even know who has them or what they have?
