Airy buds, what to do with them?

Hey again gang,

For the first time since I had my first grow 9 years ago, I ended up with a bunch of loose, airy buds. Don't know why, it was only with one strain, and it was the one I had the most experience with. Strange. Anyway, that's for another post.

Rather than sell the shitty looking weed, I'd like to process it into a more desirable form, and I'm wondering what my best bet is, as far as getting the most bang for my buck, so to speak. I have ice hash bags, but I've never made it with dried buds (did I mention the weed is dry?), and I've also never made it with anything but primarily trim. Thoughts?

I make bubble all the time with dried trim. Just stick in freezer to get cold and run same way as fresh.
TIP: don't run as long as you normally would I stick it in my washer for 5 min. No longer than that cause it's dry you'll end up with fine trim in ya hash.

Roger that, fine contaminates get to the final product,
but, damn, if the product you washing is decent, won't
matter one bit.

Zamaldelica bubble, from old cured stash. I've had guys offer
their daughters in trade for this stash, lol

That airy bud is great for a vaporizer. Otherwise I'd separate the glands from the plant matter with a bubble bag, dry ice and elbow grease.

I use cured stash and trim, it starts at room temperature.

When I want some hashish I put some product in the
freezer along with a liter of water and the funnel to
make everything cold.

After some time the water has a skin of ice, so the product,
funnel and water comes out of the freezer.

The buds and trim easily hand crumble in a mixing bowl,
then placed in the ice cold water and mixed/agitated with a
wood spoon for a few minutes.

After those few minutes of stirring the chunky mixture
is passed through a 250 micron strainer, which collects
the stripped bud material, into a clean jar.

The resin laden water is then poured in the canning
funnel where the 74 micron screen catches the resin.

Said resin is collected from the 74 micron mesh,
which is available after funnel separation.

I place the wet resin on a small piece of parchment paper
to dry, takes a day or so.

Here's the funnel and screen, exploded view:

This method is very good for small amounts of product.

I like it very much, and props to member noreason for the concept.

Do you have a link to a video or a particularly good walkthrough on ICMag that you'd recommend? I haven't made hash in a while, I'd love a refresher. Thanks!

Yup, the funnel is only good for small runs. My zamaldelica
hashish was got by maybe 50 grams of buds and trim.

Yield was almost 4 grams of awesome hashish.

Bigger amount of stash to run, there are obviously better
methods, lol

Washer? This must be some new technology I don't know about, or is it a nickname for the bubble bags? All I've got is a set of 6 bubble bags, how would you recommend I process this? Thanks!

Have you thought about dry sift? I would consider getting or making a large frame or two and sift it down to kief.
