recently, while reading through some threads here, I ran across a rumor about Afropips having passed away earlier this year: does anyone know for sure whether this information is true or false?

Thats what I heard my brother. Also looking to get it 100% verified.. All indications are that it is true. Spoke to a person that knew him personally. I was hoping it is not true, but I have had no response from his personal inbox for many months now.

Wow, bummer. A controversial figure around these parts for sure, but in the end a damn fine breeder of distinctive cannabis hybrids, from my personal experience. The high of his Tribal Vision is as complex and psychedelic as I've come across, a true treat for the head, and a feast for the rest of the senses as well. One of few keepers in my garden, in fact. Personality issues aside, I'm a great fan of his work.

Seems this is sad news then, Afropips was a great breeder and also offered many nicely preserved african landrace lines.
where can we still get some of his gear?

Word is that one can still get the seeds from a few sources. It really is great African genes. The man did alot for African strains.

It's a shame if this is true, I haven't tried any of his gear but it looks to me like he had good intentions. I definitely need to try some'n of his, sometimes I scratch my head at some of the lines that Gypsy doesn't stock, can't have 'em all I gwess. May his vibes live on through his cannabis divas.

I really don't know what to believe... i still hope that this is some kind of sick misunderstanding, i have even asked Ngakpa about it on another forum, i knew that they were friends and he was one of the few people to defend Jim when he was banned, but he wasn't able to confirme it just yet. There are still a few places where you can get his gear, i won't mention them here, i did that a couple of days ago and my post was deleted

whatever happened that was so heavy so as to break all relationship with afropips? when i bought the malawi and swazis, i got them through seed boutique, got fresh seeds nicely packed and all was great.

highlighter, how was that malawi x pp cross?

it is weird to see so many people complain about afropips' on-line persona, my experience is that he was helpful and polite, at least this was so in the few pms we exchanged about a couple of years ago.

99, they are good mothers and fathers, and also good smoke in themselves if left to mature well and cure well.

van, i was hoping that ngakpa would show up in this thread and tell us something.
