Oh yah!

BTW - I've been getting Swazi here in the North and it's been in matchboxes. I ain't seen matchboxes in ages, must be about 13/14 years!! Over the past 10 years I've been coming down from living in the UK for hols every year. Each time I scored it was either in baggy form form or in block form. Dunno if any one ever scored Swazi Block from the mintek building there in randburg, just by the home affairs type place. Must have been a banky in size but was pressed into a block which you had to break apart, that was nice stuff...

I'm also in conversation with a Malawian guy and with a bit of luck I should be getting a Malawi Cob tomorrow. I told the guy that I know what a cob is and he better not be trying to play me, he's promised but we'll have to see. Now Cob is definitely something I've not had for over a decade...
I get it(Swaz) in bankies only. Damned good price too, in comparison to everywhere else. I've seen street prices go as high as R150.00 for a skraal 3/4 bankie.
Let me know about the cob. It has been about 15 years since I had genuine cob, and even then I grew the gold myself, and my domestic did the cobbing for me.
Ah, good times. The was power, one hit stuff.

sadly, that doesn't exist here. i know of one place, but they won't have any African varieties.. only hybrids etc.

Good man!
I would offer too, but I is off to lesotho next week.
You know what that means. I must organise a helicopter (Hope I have the spare cash), and some basotho ponies for a trek.

man you south africans and your lesotho treks... leaves a brotha in brasil jealous

thanks for the help though... appreciate it a lot

are there any good resources on the web for differentiating the types of grass grown in africa? is swazi the same as rooi barb or whatever that red one is?

someone (me) ought to research the different cannabis growing cultures of that continent and write about it... pretty fascinating the different strains and the radically different ways of processing and selling it... from the hash in n. africa to the cobs and the molds (is that really true, that they allow weed to mold with orange peel, for sexual potency?) and then there's nowadays all the westernized stuff in the s. african scene... man you africans got it all

back on OverGrow, 'Derayld' (South African member) had a great thread describing all the different African weeds. i wish OG was still around :badday:

Been a kak day.
I did a tour of a few nurseries on saturday morning, and had no luck with finding an alternative. I have one more place to check tomorrow, and then I am out of places to check.

Northfolk nursery. 011 705 1388. Cnr of Main and Witkoppen.
They have an organic soil, that has wood chips in, but fairly small.
With a filler and some lawn dressing, it'd work pretty well I think.

Hey, Any SA'ers got a grow going on in a built in cupboard? You know the ones in bedrooms that measure about 6/8 feet high, 120cm wide and about 60 cm deep.

The reason I'm asking is that I'll be moving soon and will have space to accomodate a slightly larger grow spot. I'm trying to decide whether to go for a 250W or 400W HPS which I will remote ballast inside one of these cupboards.

If you had experiences let me know...

No experience. I did ponder it though.
I think, you could do a perpetual harvest setup, splitting that height into three sections.
With all the neccesary stages to feed a four plant scrog in one of those black plastic tubs you get at pick 'n pay in fourways.

Nice looking buds there ezra, I took a peek at your thread and them buds are looking yummy.

I went to The Green House yesterday in Melville, and guess what, closed again. They claim to be open between 11am and 7pm on a saturday and I was there mid afternoon.

I also tried calling all 3 of the numbers advertised on the wall of the house with no reply. Bummer for them, I had a wad of cash with me that needed to be spent but I'm gonna probably go elsewhere now...

Anyone know of any other hydro stores in JHB?
