Aerohead this is one of those classic super-innovative setups that comes to IC from time to time. Thanks for putting it up here!
For those who might be interested, here is a little bit more I found out about the case Aerohead used. It was made by Lian-Li for Best Buy, and for whatever reason Best Buy decided to sell them all for very cheap, so people were getting them for between about $50 and $75 for a while.
Those seem to be pretty much all gone and unavailable now, but there is good news and bad news about getting something similar in aluminum made by Lian-Li:
Good news is that the Rocketfish case that Aerohead used is pretty close to the same as the Lian-Li PC-A71B.
Bad news is that the lowest price I can find for the PC-A71B is about $250 when shipping is included!
FatRob, thanks again buddy, your suggestion is a good one, I came to the same conclusion. The next aero PC run will be with 2 choice clones vegged for a longer period. I wasted alot of space in the screen with too many plants last run. My theory was reduced veg time with more plants but I don't think some of them had the proper root structure when flowered so they were stunted somewhat. I feel less plants vegged longer will give me better results here.Im sorry to hear the 2 from seed didnt do well, damn, something to think about. Maybe those forced to go by seed for their pc grows, may think about planting only 1 seed and having a 30-60 day veg to fill up their screen, so at least the buds grow consistent with each other, otherwise a modular scrog might need be considered.
Thanks!! If I made these cases for profit, I would have to charge $700 and I doubt anyone would want to pay that kinda cash for a micro box. There is alot of work in there and parts add up quickly, lots of time to build too.Man, can i come kick it with you?! haha
But really, great job.
I'm tellin you, you should start making those pc cases for a living.
Have you always grown using aeroponics?
Alright Aero! Read the whole thread and it's incredibly impressive. The PC building background really starting to pay off now eh!!
Question for you if you don't mind - I'm on my info gathering pre build mission currently. I will be going for a micro grow heavily influenced by your excellent set up. Maybe a bit wider as sound smell and heat are my main stealth factors as will be in my loft/attic so doesn't have to look too stealth (as long as reasonably small size). Will also have a small mum room on the end and a carbon filter on top, so a bit of a cross between your setup and NGBs classic stealth box.
I want to go T5 route as well so was wondering if this was the 80Watt fellas you mentioned?

What do you think the Lumens would be from this? I'd like to have at least 2 of these next to each other (pref 3) but it says they're only 44mm wide which can't be right surely? Unless they're talking about the width of tube itself rather than the double tube width unit if you get what I'm saying!
SVK, you are in luck, I have my PC case torn down due to mods for the next run. I have removed some of my aluminum work to access wiring ect so I can post some pics for you. As far as relocating the fans, I had to cut the case up pretty good and build a new rear panel. I used pop rivets to mount the 2g11 sockets to the reflector, then glued the reflector to the top of the case with heat sink glue. I left a removable access panel for the wiring of the sockets in the rear. I'll try to get a few pics posted soon. I have also built a new aero sump and will post those as well.
Thanks for checking out my grow SVK!!
