OMFG, MICRO GROW GOD through and through. I envy you sir. Your buds came out nice and dense? maaaaaaaaan that makes all the difference, that picture of you holding up the scrog plant is fucking amazing, if you posted ONLY that pic up and said you had grown it in a pc case no one would have beleived you on here. K+++ im thinking the same thing as diy try is thinking, you must be a really clean and organized guy, as your growroom is immaculate. Man, i hope you enjoy the shit out of your harvest, you definitely deserve it, cant wait to look forward to the dry weight and a future grow here on icmag.
edit-damn you had 3 inches of height left, thats crazy, theres always room for improvement isnt there, even with a badass finish result like yours.

LOL ScrubNinja, thanks!! This is good news for you too because it looks like your new cab is gonna kick my ass someday soon! More power to you, these lights do produce some quality buds. I now believe that PL-L's can rival HID's for quality, but quantity still goes to HID's. Doesn't mean we can try to close that gap in the future and I believe we will. These lights are amazing!!! I'm impressed..

Thanks Theblotto, I wouldn't recommend seeds for a grow where yield was the goal because they aren't consistent, some bulk up some produce almost nothing. I did have 2 seeds in this grow, 1 Mazar, and 1 White Satin. Through some stroke of luck, both were female however, neither were producers and the clones quickly over grew them. Together those 2 plants from seed produced less that 2 grams. The clones did all the work. I wouldn't recommend lowryder strains because you are forever growing from seed. There is no problem growing full sized strains in small spaces.

I don't have a link, that radiator is left over from a water cooled PC I once ran. I'm sure there are plenty of these left on ebay or the likes. If I find any, I'll post a link..

I thought I would post some pics of the roots I pulled out of one of my aero manifolds. The molasses turned them kinda brown and I cut the extended roots that tied the manifold to the sump but this is pretty cool, you can clearly see the drain hole where the roots were chopped!!

I think I'll "borrow" a couple of your ideas if you don't mind. At the moment I can't find a PC case that I like so I'll prob build a PL-L box / tent, but the principle is the same. Love those pl-ls, I had a dual 55w unit about 4-5 years back when I grew in soil. They kicked ass.

I'm interested in aeroponics, your setup is cool.

Did your roots grow into the sump then?

You mentioned you cut them, did you cut them during the grow to stop them going into the sump through the drain, or is it ok to let them just grow into there?

As the roots formed a matt along the gutter, it looks like it ended up like a hybrid nft / rdwc with an aero component further up.

Great stuff man.

Plonkman, thanks for checking out my little project, The roots did go into the sump through the drain hole. I didn't cut them until harvest time so I could get the manifold off. I mainly built this little system just to see how small one could pull off aeroponics. Now that it works, another will be built and this one will be retired to a cloner.

Aerohead this is one of those classic super-innovative setups that comes to IC from time to time. Thanks for putting it up here!

For those who might be interested, here is a little bit more I found out about the case Aerohead used. It was made by Lian-Li for Best Buy, and for whatever reason Best Buy decided to sell them all for very cheap, so people were getting them for between about $50 and $75 for a while.

Those seem to be pretty much all gone and unavailable now, but there is good news and bad news about getting something similar in aluminum made by Lian-Li:

Good news is that the Rocketfish case that Aerohead used is pretty close to the same as the Lian-Li PC-A71B.

Bad news is that the lowest price I can find for the PC-A71B is about $250 when shipping is included! :yoinks:​

man aerohead, youve altered the history of pc grows forever, when hps users start bashing on fluorescent and/or pc grows, this thread will be used in response for reference im sure. Im sorry to hear the 2 from seed didnt do well, damn, something to think about. Maybe those forced to go by seed for their pc grows, may think about planting only 1 seed and having a 30-60 day veg to fill up their screen, so at least the buds grow consistent with each other, otherwise a modular scrog might need be considered. Cant wait for your dry weight buddy. Im saving up for my dream case,http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811160008 however, when i get mine im goona have to put up a sealed in wall 6-7 inches from the back of the case much like mr micro's nano machine, to serve as my equipment/activated carbon room for mine will be built with stealth/odor control as the 1# concern, i should have about a 12lx8wx25.6h grow area, so maybe a zip may be a reasonable pull. man k+ when i can give more rep.
