nitrate meter is no good?? In what way? I've been using the #s you gave me as guidelines for N fertilization. I don't follow anything blindly but if it makes sense to me and I don't have any better way to do it then I'll use it. Thus far it's been working so I'll continue to use it til it fails but it sounds like you've seen it fail recently... what happened??

On another note, are the green veins and yellowing in this old leaf pretty standard evidence of Mg deficiency?

imo no. They are evidence that you never got enough balanced energy in your plants from the beginning leading to sick leafs, bug attack (all kind of bites) and then leafs sending their energy upwards to protect reproduction.

Your plants lack enough energy and mineral density to protect themselves. They are generally underfed and as I recall you did not have enough Ca in the plant to begin with. You cannot recover from that. The plant bullds cells with K or Na or Mg instead of Ca making weak cells. No fixing that.

What is your sap K readings?

Start spraying with Ca (albion) now 3 x a week so your buds at least have Ca to build their cells with.

I don't usually take samples at 3 pm but here it is. The lower leaves I took were super yellow. I'm not sure I believe these numbers so I'm going to do them again tomorrow morning.

Old, new
K 1100, 860
pH 6.8, 6
N 3500, 1600
Ca 130, 54
Brix 7 fuzzy, 7 fuzzy

I grabbed some upper leaves for pressing and this is what I hadn't seen until now:

So how do you gather sap?

If you crush the cells...if the leaf don't still look like a leaf when you are done...your plant is built out of k instead of Ca

Spray Ca and some aminos

So what are those lime green tips? Ca?

I have a pollen press that has a cap with holes and a screen. I tear the leaves a couple times, stuff them in, and twist it until I get sap. Usually the middle of the puck looks normal and the top and bottom look smushed.

How could you get sap without crushing the leaf? Would it be better to sample petioles?

With a cec like that, 20% Mg is way too much and you're going to need more gyp.

I've been mixing my own micros for this years grows:

It's got some Zinc and Manganese also but smells just like the expensive foreign stuff.

Here are some plants from a rec grow I work with. Forum cut:

Their native soil is pretty nice, 20 cec, 65% Ca, 12% Mg, 5% K, decent micros. Needs lots of Phosphorus though.

I have some blue dreams showing the same marginal chlorosis in different soil and the yellowing has progress further inward. It feels to me like a deficiency but thank you for the links avenger.

Actually I've been trying to find that tomato deficiency link you age me a while back. Could you give me that link again??

Anyone have trouble getting copper sulfate and sodium molybdate to dissolve? I always have blue and pink powder at the bottom.

On a different note, the marginal chlorosis is progressing. What does It mean that it's only on the newly mature leaves? All I can figure is that itsimmobile...

Looks like there is to much of something. Last thing I would do, is boil down micro sulfates and add more.

Try something more forgiving, worm castings, compost, liquid kelp. Compost tea really helps balance stuff out, and keeps it cruising to the end.

Kelp is so diverse, full spectrum. Add to much soluble copper and I imagine you will regret it.

I didn't mean boiling down micro nutrients and adding more... I meant using really hot water to mix the dry micro nutrients into solution

i like to use aloe and/or yucca when making micro-concoctions {i have been adding for Cu, Mn & B} the saponins help suspend it in the solution/provide for a better mix
