Nice plants mate. Buds are looking chunky already. And that's a nice looking setup, should be plenty of light.
I just harvested my first grow for a few years and I made exactly the same mistake, I was anxious to get them flowering so I veg'd too small. No big deal, you will have lots of lovely bud soon.
Best wishes

Right on, Pandyfackler, looks like I'll get a good taste of each, and there are a bunch of clones pulling up the rear that'll way outgrow their mothers;) I'm about to take 4 clones from my new tikal mother to cycle back in in a couple of months... make a little strawberry patch next to what'll surely be the Panama canal, next to the Golden Tiger natural preserve.

I didn't rush to flower at all, just didn't feed 'em;) What I've learned is that these plants LIKE nutes, at least organics, pretty much close to full strength. Haven't tried any real chemical nastyness on them. So my clones are getting a totally different treatment than their moms. They're out in the sun today.

It's wonderful to hear of the strawberry smelling Tikal. In a couple of months I'll be popping some Tikal, Panama and Malawi.
And thanks for sharing about the nute requirements. I often under fertilize on the first go.

@PandyFackler - It's a very sweet plant, very easy. I definitely recommend growing it if you're new at these genetics. Panama, too, although I think I got a long flowering green (what I thought I wanted-now I'm on the search for a chunky red). The two I have going are similar in their chunkiness and smell, but the younger one is more strawberry, lankier, much frostier and has slightly thinner leaves that have longer stems. Didn't take clones; I'll have to reveg;) The Tikal 1 clone I do have will be much bigger when she goes into flower.

100% germ rate for the 13 bean drop. The last Golden Tiger just poked its head out of the ground. The 3 Bangis look phenomenal, very fat; there's a couple of red stemmed, darker leaved and one greener. The 4 Panama are also healthy; 3 dark, 1 light. The four GTs were the last to germ and poke out their heads. Very tiny little things; I had 25 regs from which I chose 2 very tiger striated seeds, which I associate with strong hybrids, and 2 dark, red-edged seeds with no stripes. Lastly, my Purple Wrecks, the first up, look good and have a bit of purple already. Very nice strain, Querkle x Trainwreck.

I gave away a couple of clones and so am down to 8 in soil. 1 Tikal, 4 Panama green, and 3 mystery plant; i.e. Nepjam or Pink Panama. It grows very columnar so I may do these in one gallon, onebud style. I have 2 each Bangi Haze and Nepjam fem clones ready for soil; beautiful roots. Just need to know if "mom" bangi is indeed a girl. This the very fast flowering Nepjam, so i'll need to veg these a good bit. Doesn't react at all to topping, though the mouse did a killer fim on the clones and they'll have a couple main stems.

Things look healthy in the flower room @ 5weeks. Hi temps 84, mainly 75-82. Won't be a very abundant harvest but a great learning run and great things on deck. That big mystery plant flowers very slowly. Good resin, big stretchy plant with hardy pistils. Pink outdoor, white, in. If her buds grow into her stems, she'll be a biggie. The good thing is, if she's Nepjam, she's longer flowering pheno, more Jamaican... if she's Panama, she's a shorter flowering pink pheno... maybe. Either way is tops.

I'm excited about all my new kids and will document them closely and try to keep them alive.

Flowering girls are getting the day off from light as I need to switch their photoperiod to nighttime so I can access tent and keep it closed with lights on. Temps OD at night are very low ATM, i.e. 40-60 and only moderately warmer inside, so I can get good temps with it closed. I hope they take this change well. Fingers crossed.

I've decided to set up the 3x3 for 2 plant rdwc under LED for the moment. If the Bangi in the big tent is a girl, I'll run her clones parallel in the small tent.

I'll take pics tonight of the babies.

Flower tent pic update - day 39

Flower tent pic update - day 39

Here they are. I repotted Tikal 1 clone and Panama 1 clone into 5 and 3 gal respectively, and put them in the tent for a couple of hours yesterday eve. They were drinking their one gallon pot dry everyday and no longer fit under the t-5s where the babies are. Sunny and hot these days, so clones are OD, and soon the seedlings'll be under the great cmh in the sky.

The flowering girls are going to get some more PK next feeding. I think Tikal 1 will get one more feeding and then on water for a few weeks. She never seemed to grow into her pot.

I'm still not sure about the Bangi's sex. Lots of preflowers that look male, but no real clusters. It's taking so long to show that it may just be a girl; hell, I've seen some of the best growers on IC be happily surprised, so I'm waiting for a definite answer from him/her. i've got two clones of it who have so many roots they'll be hard to repot... They're using the cloner as a dwc home at the moment and growing quite a bit.

Da evidence: (Tikals and clones next post)

More mouse action in the house. He ate the only seedling I was thinking of culling; the smallest Golden Tiger. I was pissed when his family member fimmed my Nepjam reg clones and ate through Bangi's stem, but man he did a great job on the clones. The have four tops out of the gate on a plant that doesn't like to branch hardly at all. Also, where he ate the bark clear around the Bangi stem the plant has formed a big knuckle manifold and is very vigorous. So hah, mouse. Leave the seedlings alone and get back to work on the clones, you disease ridden bastard.
Speaking of which, I potted the 2 Bangi and Nepjam fem clones and only have Tikals in the cloner for now. As soon as they're potted I'll shut it off for a while, until the seedlings need cloning. Dat's da nudes.

Here's a question; now that I've switched to nighttime lights on and daytime lights off, daytime lights off temps can be as high as with lights on at night (daytime temps OD this week close to 90, temp in tent can reach 81 lights off)! As this doesn't probably happen in nature, I wonder if the plants'll suffer for it? Humidity stays low, as it's desert. Max 40% lights off, lower lights on.

I gave Panama and the two Tikals a tad of PK at 1/2 strength last night in pure water. I hope they respond well. That's the news. Tomorrow will be 6 weeks since first buds for Tikal1 and Panama 1. Trichs all clear and putting on a tiny bit of weight.

Very nice looking plants, DWD! All those colas on Tikal1 especially, so beautifully developed.

On the lights on during the night thing - I'm doing the same thing for the same reasons as you and I didn't find any hints anywhere about this being a bad thing. If anything, I read that it does help to reduce the stretch, especially if the temperature with lights off is higher than temp with lights on (search for negative DIF for plants or something like that), but I think this method is only used sparingly, not throughout the whole grow cycle. The nights at the tropics are pretty hot and humid, after all, and plants seem to be doing well there :)

But then again, I don't speak from experience, so maybe someone with some real world knowledge could give you a better answer.

Cheers!

Long winded update-more for my sake

@orfeas-true dat;) I wish I spoke Greek. My granma spoke English, French, ladino (old Spanish) and Italian as well as Greek, which is the only one I don't know at all.

That's reassuring, mj, thanks. I'm the same as you; there's what I've read and draw conclusions from, and what's really gonna happen;) of which I have no real idea. June is typically the hottest month here in the high desert. Today and this week OD will be high 80s-90, indoor much cooler thanks to adobes.

Tikal 1 has a nice structure, but she's really small. Her clone is as big as she was when I flowered her, I'm holding off for 2x;). Her sis has better bouquet and less leaf and will get revegged.

Everyone in the tent looks good at 6wks since first flowers. Alas, Bangi is definitely a dude, as suspected... I can't bring myself to cull such a beaut, but he's out of the tent. I'm going to check with some pals to see if they have a spot for him. That clears him and his clones from the roster. I suppose the girls are settled into the new rhythms and space by now. Looks like they took the pk well.
Nepjam reg is a very interesting plant with big greasy looking leaves, drinks quite slowly and is nute sensitive, too. I have three good clones of her that I'll run if mom's good smoke and cull if not. I can't tell by her structure if she's going to yield or not or how long she'll go. Very stretchy, could have nice main cola at the end.

Nepjam fem is now hard at flower; gonna be a fast and furious one-bud kinda girl from bottom to top. No stopping/training her. Her clones would be good for stealthy outdoor.
The Tikals we've already talked about. They seem to be the earliest finishing of the bunch in flower. Tikal1 @ 6wks flower is still shooting new pistils, but few, and starting to fatten. I can see a seed or two, though no male flowers in the tent that I saw. I'm hoping I brought in some Panama on my clothes. I'm tempted to put #1 on water and let her fade, while sis will get maybe 2 more weeks of food.

So far Panama is the clear and obvious winner in the tent. Of course, this is a tad skewed as my whole reason for starting this grow was my interest in this strain, and specifically the green pheno. It turns out to be the most vigorous of all, the biggest buds for plant size and seems to want to go long, although I have no idea how long. Judging by compactness of buds she looks like medium flower length, maybe 11-14wks. Definitely not an early 9-10 weeker, but not a spindly, wispy 16+ girl either. I guess I'll know more in 2 months. Very happy to have clones to run and some new Panama starts to choose from.

Seedlings got a pretty rough t-storm yesterday, caught it just before the hail and brought 'em in. All alive and OD again. Today is a special day, because I'm no longer running the clones in and outdoors. This eve they stay outside, and in one place, all day, all night, though still in pots. I think they'll be much happier. The Nepjam fem that's in t he tent was outdoors for some pretty hard stuff and is fine, so...

that's that for this book. Thanks fer tuning in. Dwd

New bean drop : mouse is back

New bean drop : mouse is back

Mouse got 2 Panama, 1 1/2 GT and my best Purple Wreck. The motherfucker has good taste, chose the best looking plants. After I set a few traps, I dropped 2 Panama, 1 GT and a Humboldt Truthband 707 fem freebie in the dirt. The damaged GT is gonna be all right, and the rat bastard cut off the P Wreck at the base, so i put it in my cloner. if it makes roots, it'll go in my DWC.

Flushed Panama1 and Tikal 1 and runoff was good pHwise. I guess I just didn't give 'em enough nutes to get big. I've still got a buncha weeks left with these girls. Won't happen next time. Tikal 1 put out a round of new pistils since the flush and is "bulking up"... to kind of a toy plant. I'm hoping she finishes within 3 weeks so i can get her replacements in.

I could list everything I've done wrong with this run, but it would be much too long a post. Let's say I'm glad they're alive, but I definitely fucked em up and the last few days I've had about enough of this grow. Reminds me of a girlfriend I had that would just shut down when we argued, no telling what the hell she wanted. I feel the same about the girls in the flower room. A mystery. SO forget the past, how about the near future?

I repotted the 3 Panama clones and the NepJam clone left in bad soil (Atami seedling stuff-first burned em, then bad deficiencies started-only that soil, no others reacted like this.) into 3 gal pots outdoors in a soft Black Gold mix that I know they like. NepJam actually went in Happy Frog. SO I have the next round of 6 LSTd in their final pots and under the sun. After another week or two, I'll have to lollipop em. Culled big, beautiful, short internoded Bangi boy while keeping a clone. You broke my heart, Lola... now gimme your pot.

That's it. As soon as these new beans pop, I'll have 28 going, not counting the cloner that'll be full in a month. A lot of work for me. Pics are a pain in the ass right now, so maybe once a week or when there's something exciting. later

Finally-out of tent flower pics. NepalJams reg and fem

Finally-out of tent flower pics. NepalJams reg and fem

Whoever the kind soul was that found the last post helpful, I tip my hat to your good nature:tiphat:. The mouse killing my favorite seedlings had me pissed as hell and seeing things in a deadly light.

I had written a text bout the plants before looking at the pics on the computer and then when I did they blew it and me away, totally nullified a bunch of what I was saying: I thought Tikal 1 was finishing, def not so, and I thought Panama still had all white pistils at 52 days.
Every plant but the small NepJam, in early flower, surprised me in better light. And the camera saw things I didn't, especially pistils turning on the panama. I did not take tikal 2 out of the tent for this session.
We'll start with the NepalJams, picwise. The big one from reg seed looks like a killer. Big, vigorous plant, has about a 10" main cola it's working on filling out. The closeups knocked my socks off. Enough said.
Other news, Humboldt 707 is up.

Panama 1 @52 days - just a babe

My fav since before I ordered the seeds. Definite bias toward this strain here from the start, but take a look, may be justified:biggrin: Though that bigger NepJam has definitely got my attention. Grown better and bigger, without all the changing of environment, light, etc, her clones are going to fill that tent:peacock: Also happy to see that I was way off about her just getting started. She looks to have at least 30%brown hairs. Have to look again, but happy she plans on expiring one day;) I gotta say, taking Tikal and Panama out of the tent was like seeing them for the first time, like unwrapping a great present. Here's my babe in all sorts of undress.

Clone Pics - Panama, Nepjams and Tikal

Thanks for stopping in, justabluez and MadMac;) i know they've got a ways to go, but things are looking and smelling tasty. The Panama's a crazy lemon sweet tart:biggrin: and both NepJams are taking off. MadMac, you've got me impatient. The NepJam fem looks like it might have at least one big bud like you produce;) i'm thinking and hoping she's gonna be fast.

These are the 4 Panama, 1 Tikal and 3 (or 4 depending on one's survival) NepJams. 2 or 3 of the big girl from reg and one of the fem. I just flushed all but Tikal and biggest Panama; soil pH too high. And heat here has been 95 and above for almost a week before it finally poured yesterday. Had to bring the seedlings inside after their pots got too hot and put everyone in part shade so they wouldn't cook. I'll let you guys figure out what's what, you know the moms. (sorry for sideways NepJams.)
