are the plants actually in flower now? i'm seeing some at the farm are budding already and we're still at 14 hours of daylight...i just passed 600 miles ridden this month,at 140 for the week, all single speed miles...

Yeah…mine are all in early flowering stretch phase. End of July is about right. Same as my gardens in California. Things are going quicker growth wise. The fun times! By the end of this grow (like all my outdoor grows) I’ll be fried. I feel like I’ll be dealing with frost in October.

I won’t be leaving the garden from here on out. In October I’ll start overnighting down at the ranch. My presence will be constant. Not letting the guard down.

That job making you ride more?

^ Bug bite infection surgery I did on myself…on the Klamath National Forest. Some kind of biting fly (or stung me…not sure what it was) hit me…a few days later it was dripping infection. The infection was spreading…so it had to be done.

This fixed it. Used about 1/2 a bottle of hydrogen peroxide to flush it out. The infection ate a hole where the fly hit me. That never filled back in.

* A doctor was not an option unless I wanted to drive over the mountains for 60some miles. Then what? They would give me antibiotics and do the exact same procedure that I performed.

Guess I’m just conveying that…sometimes you have to take care of yourself…and not automatically think you need a doctor and his meds. We’ve been trained that antibiotics are the go to…save all…route. I’d reconsider that…if that is your answer. Everything has a counter measure to it. Nothing goes in the body…without leaving residue.

yeah,20 + miles to get there or home, mostly been riding to work then getting a ride home since it's been hot and that makes it hard to recover enough to ride to work the next day and be functional for 8 hours, plus it's hard to get enough calories in to restore glycogen levels for the next day...once it cools down i'll be doing 40+ miles a day 5 days a week and at least be able to take more interesting routes home...morning rides are pure time trial...going as fast as is reasonable considering i need to work and not be cracked all day...
i kinda fell off the program when covid reared it's ugly head so the job kinda forced me to get back into cycling shape...just unfortunate i started in the hot season...and being a "valued company asset" they don't want me riding when it's over 95...plus sun exposure...the grow bay has shade cloth, but i was getting a bit sunburned before i insisted it be put up...i have sun sleeves/leggings and carry an extra water bottle just to splash water on myself, but still tough on a 57 year old body...

This sun is brutal. Seems like I got toasted more this season than last. Takes it out of you. Draining.

Fueling. Difficult…for sure…to stay fueled up for that kind of schedule/mileage.

Glad you are back in the saddle !

for sure,i've dropped 20-30 pounds, gotten to the point where the ride to work barely affects me anymore, knees and back feel much better, sleeping like a rock...and direct deposit paychecks are way easier than hunting people down for weed money...i do kinda miss the big ugly wads of cash, but paying bills online is way easier...

I sleep…on average…about 10 hrs a night. If I want to drop weight quick…I go on “camp food” diet. Peanut butter on Saltines…and tea. Somehow I survive well on that diet. Fuels me enough to keep it together.

Something to be said for getting that steady “paid”

Seems like you are working for a decent place. I looked at a facility outside of Wilcox, AZ while I was over there. Big greenhouses…very professional. $12.50 an hr…and they were hiring through a contractor who served up the same work force that picks the food. I was like…not what they were looking for. Took me all of a minute to realize that.

White guys ran the show…Mexican labor did the work. Beautiful facility though…fenced in like a prison. I left that conversation not feeling too good.

That was my last attempt at the thought that Cochise County might work out…as a place…where the wife and I might settle. I looked at it all the winter of ‘21. Froze my ass off camped below the Stronghold (for almost 2 months) and in the Dos Cabezas (3weeks). Had the wife out to Douglas…to take a look. No way she say.

Love the Sky Islands there…the Dragoons and the Chiricahuas….but I’m only 2hrs away from them…living here. It’s all the same to me…the terrain and elements.

pretty much the same deal here except the crew has been the construction crew so probably a higher skill set and the management team gets dirty just as often...i was able to make a nice deal for myself for sure, but then again they headhunted me,so i didn't see any reason to accept less than i was making on the black market, and got a parachute clause in my contract in case things went tits up...and only signed a one year contract so terms can be changed once the facility is finished and we have a solid idea of where the market is going and how well the grow is going...

^ Working on the Middle Island this morning. Pruning and Wiring. A Sister #1 lead…early flower

^ I left a hole in the screen in between plants on the Middle Island…so I could have a place to stand up. This morning though…I added more screen…so I have less space to pop up…doesn’t matter…this should all fill in with flower branches…and I’ll become regulated to working from beneath the screens…like everywhere else in this garden.

^ Wife and I taking turns adding some moisture to the plants and medium (around mid day)…normally something I do not do…but I didn’t hose water this morning (because the garden was wet from a night rain)….and we were both down there to pick up my truck…

Had to put a new alternator in the War Pony Danger Ranger...with the help of Mike (ranch owner)…old one quit working yesterday…and had some wiring that needed rerouting and soldered together. That job went fast…successful repair.

Things are starting to open up here. Not sure how many big operations are set up and going. I don’t try to know too many people…so not really in a loop…if there is even a loop…assume there is…haven’t walked into any of the shops. Wife does.

One place is serving infused food…and I think you can smoke on the premises. Compared to California…seems pretty lax…from an outsider perspective. I don’t even know all the technical details of the laws.

As a homegrown cannabis enthusiast…it’s good for me!

i just discovered the other day there's several pot shops within spitting distance of my house...or i guess sprinting distance would be more appropriate...no plans on going in,got my legal 6 rec plants going, plenty of properly cured mostly organic bud of my own...still yielding enough at home to pay for fancy bike parts while i bank my legal pay...buy house, new roof,solar,greenhouse,chickens,retire...my 8 year plan...

Had an expanded spell of steady rain…last night. Got up before the sun…and spent several hours…pruning and wiring. A labor intensive procedure…all done below the screen…like figuring out the pieces of a puzzle…requiring a detailed patient sort of mental focus…a form of stretching to catch physical comfort…where I can….and be the proactive guide to the Sisterhood.

Below is Sister #11…..I had a long wire…from her main…angled to the screen…because she had a strong lean…especially when her canopy was drenched with water. This morning I decided to let this…creeper expression…grow natural for a while. I took off any wiring and did little to prune here.

She’s been gutted of interior sucker type growth before…but as long as…she grows into the screen…unable to fall over onto the ground…I’m going to leave her. Not all the sisters get the same haircut. Each as an individual.

* working with the sisters is every day…at this stage…and from here out. The plants are changing daily. Easy for me to see. Throttle up

^ I believe in push ups. You don’t need much to find variations. Incline…decline…wide…narrow…deep…shallow…slow control…fast twitch. Core strength.

Being it…that I’m spending more and more time down in the garden…I’m working in push ups and pull ups (Juniper limb)…stretching…powering in plant power…energy of summer

^ We’re all stardust in our own gardens…in our own narratives…

…take the time to have fun with the plants and time…seasons…hold what you got…enjoy the ride through

Wife came down to the Ranch…after I’d been there an hour or so…brought down some sunrise coffee…we sipped it…making the rounds

looks like we have another hot-ish week coming here...managed to crack out 1010km riding last month,so pretty good for a hot summer month...really looking forward to fall and getting my monthly mileage up into the 800+ mile range...and getting some hill training in....plus it will be the start of free cooling season so maybe able to grow my legal 6 plants even bigger than #10 pots...and set up a rotation so it's not everything coming down at once since i friggin hate trimming so much i had it put in my contract...no trimming at work!!

I despise trimming. I saw you guys got a trimming machine. My buddy…in San Diego…reps Twister. Travels around demonstrating and selling their machines. “Trimming Sucks” is their motto.

…weather has been great here…so far so…good. I’ll be out in it…this afternoon.

...como el Son...
this is hilarious, I saw that the 200+ page thread was started by a banned/non-existent account guys I didn't mean that the homie was actually dead. Sorry my poor choice of words made anyone think tragedy had struck, don't quote me on nothing I don't know shit

I should have kept reading obviously. The Pablos exited the chrysalis as Jericho Mile

Here we say: "He wasn't dead...he just went out for a few beers".

My friend Blanco Herrera got paid his salary
And without a second thought he went out to squander it
A week of partying and he lost consciousness
As he didn't return home everyone thought he was dead
And he wasn't dead, no, no
And he wasn't dead, no, no, no
And he wasn't dead, no, no, no
That he was having a drink, lerelele
And he wasn't dead, no, no, no
And he wasn't dead, no, no, no
And he wasn't dead, no, no, no
Chiviri, cuchíviri, chivirí, chivirí
But after a few days of disappearing
They found a dead one, a very similar dead one
They held a big wake for him and prayed a novena for him
They forgave him his debts and buried him with grief
And he was not dead, no, no,
And he was not dead, no, no, no
And he was not dead, no, no, no
He was having a drink, lerelele
And he wasn't dead, no, no, no
And he wasn't dead, no, no, no
And he wasn't dead, no, no
Chiviri, cuchíviri, chivirí, chivirí
But one day he appeared full of life and contentment
Telling everybody
"Hey, you got the wrong dead man"
The mess he made, that's a fairy tale.
His wife doesn't love him anymore, no, she doesn't want to live with the dead.
He wasn't dead, he was out partying
He wasn't dead, he was partying
My friend "Manco Herrera" was paid his salary.
He wasn't dead, he was out partying
His wife doesn't want him anymore, she doesn't want to sleep with dead people
And he wasn't dead, no, no
And he wasn't dead, no, no, no
And he was not dead, no, no, no
Chiviri, cuchíviri, chivíviri, chivirí
