...that we can't stay away from. A 20-car pile-up that you have to keep checking to see if someone else smashed up into.

Go to town, brother! :D

I gave it a 5 star rating. No kidding. I check in on it every time I'm on here. It'll be simmering down now though...at least until some grows get posted. Or....maybe not

i don't think theres a need to simmer anything , lol now its taming down its starting to become a bit lame . objectionable points of view are well founded .

if moneymike didn't come and save the show , i,d spat my dummy . he still basically said the c99 was average , though left the impression some of the others may be worth a shit . lucky this "duke " can hold a toilet lid up , cause its certainly sounding like soul can't . even if he was a tomato farmer , fuk that nearly lost my shit out the window .

I look at Brothers Grimm as a cool name for a Cannabis seed company...cool genetics..representing an illicit growing era in part.

Be a bummer if the respect their brand gets...fades or is dented...because of a cash grab.

But then..it's not my company or reputation..and people are free to do what they want.

* I've spent more than $150 on a pack of seeds. Many times actually. Then...I had what I needed..made a lot more beans than I needed..and started thinking about how I'd never buy beans again. Thousands of dollars invested in my collection has given me an unlimited supply of about every avenue into the Cannabis blood lines.

I dropped 40 seeds yesterday. I charged myself $25 a bean...

pay myself later

Time To Deliver

Time To Deliver

Hit me up...yo ho Sonny Boys

^ The 2 Skunk Jones males and the 2 SZSK f2 males..in exile..behind a sliding glass door (because it's too windy and cold to have them out on the deck today) getting themselves ready to progress the cause

* I've already started collecting pollen from the 2 Skunk Jones males. They are faster to deliver apparently.

** Unlike other projects where I deliberately blend the pollens of both lines...these are line progression grows so..

I'm collecting the pollen from the 2 lines separately....and will make Skunk Jones f2 beans and SZSK f3 beans.

Since:

SZSK = Skunk #1 "The Pure" X Chem DD

and

Skunk Jones = SZSK f2 X Casey Jones f2

I don't see much purpose in recombining the genetics to each other at this stage. Don't think it would benefit me much...as far as...unlocking genetic traits. I'll just be making the f2 and f3 generations respectively.

which is more work because I have to keep pollens separate...

><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Today I've been planting Cannabis and veggie seeds. Peppers and Tomatoes started indoors...in peat pods...beside Dominion and Cinderella DD seeds. When I'm in the mood to start new plants...by god...I do not fuck around.

In other news:

I inadvertently might be starting a new career. The running lifestyle may start paying for itself and more. We'll see what comes of it..but the horizon is looking pretty sunny.

In further....other news:

I'm a few days out from the Lost Boys 50M race...feeling really good...probably going to take a little more acid today and stretch out on my rocks...while I multi task getting some Veg studio gardening done...mostly transplanting newly rooted Skunk clones..and rearranging the set up for all these spring germinations.

I'm finding the acid in micro doses makes me want to be silent and mellow.

I'll get a couple runs in the next few days....eat big on Thursday...chill out on Friday....

taking the race shuttle down to the desert at 3:30 Saturday morning...the race starts down in Pinyon Wash at 5:00 A.M.

50 miles point to point...lot of sand and a lot of hill...very fast field of racers.

................it's going to be a good one

^ Dedication to the craft. In here: Skunk Jones (a few expressions), SZSK f2 (a few expressions), Jaundice f2 (expressions 1-3), I-HOP Satellite (expressions 1 and 2), Queen Moxie, Easy Mox Trilogy expressions 5 and 7......and the Skunk Jones and SZSK f2 males.

* the males come out tonight...into exile

The plants circle the bulbs at multiple layers and heights. Some plants are elevated and some are just 6'+ beasties with pots at floor level. I tend to start flowering plants wherever they will fit...sometimes (like now) I have to keep some of them in the Veg studio during lights on...until..there is space for them to remain in front of HPS spectrums....lots of movement on any given day.

somehow...some way..I make this work using only 2 600 watt HPS bare bulbs.

It's an organized mess with a lot of thought and work put into it actually. Timing is paramount when running multiple varieties in a perpetual...made harder when a lot of the population is new...and being bred. A true voyage at times

Not sure why I even do it. Habit I guess. I like making new stuff to grow.

I am glad to see a fellow vert grower thread once in a while! I run a vert 1k hortilux with 4 big trees around it in 5 gallon hydroton ebb flo buckets with drip rings on a timer. Big Dense Buds!

I got into vertical after seeing the 50 light flip from Remo on urban grower channel at youtube. Nice grows but forget about the AN I run mostly PBP, botanicare and some canna products here and there.

Pop those Cindy Crosses! Got any Cindy D or OG crosses? I have some but haven't had the time to test them other than germ rates and short veg...

Bare bulb vert...about as basic as it gets. I don't screen the plants..just tie them out of the bulbs...tie and bend the branches to the bulb side..constantly remove leaves after budding is well underway. I could make it better...but I like being able to move plants around for general purposes..and pollinations. The big vines though..once they are tied in...they're there..in that station...the entire ride.

My ship sails sound..but always loose. I grow some strange expressions. Not sure I believe some of these things would do well in other people's gardens...but I'm my own favorite masher....having found some expressions that do it for me. All I ever really smoke are the flowers and resins from my own creations. Realizing that one is self centered shouldn't be a negative thing.

* working with 1.7 gal squares...and a couple 5 gal pots with doubled up clones. I like the small pots in general. More mobile...

Recycled coco....I'm into that now. I'm running my mediums until they turn to powder.

man...hope you find the happiness in those C99 Grimm beans

but I can tell you this: There is no Grail. There are many.

I-HOP Satellite expression #2

I-HOP Satellite expression #2

^ Day 27...partially pollinated (several bottom branches) to make the f2 generation. She's a pretty girl...smelly as well..

though..

I think she is going to express just like her sister (expression #1)...therefore I've already got the expression locked down.

* I don't have a clone of #2...never cloned her because she was way slow in veg. No clone but I'll have her seed.

** Skunk pollinations are up next. Skunk Jones and SZSK f2. Not too far out from those.

><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Ran with the wife this morning. Way mellow. Run again tomorrow...then it's all about eating and resting.

^ The care package from Proven Nutrition for the Lost Boys race and the next month of training leading into the SD 100M. This company is treating me good. I'm happy to have had that chance meeting at the mile 64 aid station during the Chimera 100M..with one of their reps. The doors opened.

Ultra racing...as an organized sport...is getting bigger...getting huge. The markets riding the wave are also getting bigger. There is an amazing amount of product out there. The wave has not reached the crest yet..it's still growing..and it's ridable. I have to stay on my feet and keep running.

...this shit is a trip. how fucking fun

just watched a doc about an unsupported bike race across america and one of the guys has like 20lbs of powdered stuff and all these bottles of various color liquids...i think he made it about a week on that stuff before he was chowing burgers and convenience store sandwiches like the rest of the riders...

Pretty sure that's the race that has killed riders from exhaustion. Where did you see the doc? I want to watch that. I remember seeing these guys doing that race (can't remember where) but they were living off Ensure. Gross.

It's not healthy what they are doing...but hey...it's not about being healthy..is it?

* I totally believe in this stuff I'm using. If it didn't help me...I wouldn't use it. I still have to eat aid station food...still need to grab calories..as the powder isn't about calories...but whenever I start to fade..I hit the powder.

for sure running i can see it as being a good thing, for 16 days on a bike not so much...

its on netflix...

Found it. It wasn't the Race Across America...but similar. Cool documentary.

Not going to get much sleep tonight myself. I'm going to get a bunch of stuff done today....then hopefully...by early evening...I can find my way to bed. I'll need to be up...figure 1:00 A.M. to get myself ready and over to the shuttle pick up at 3:30 A.M......then down into the hole...run myself out and over Cuyamaca and down to the lake.

Weather is going to be better than last year...but still windy. Temps in the 50's clear skies.

i recognized some of those folks from the tour divide documentary, another "race" in the same spirit, self supported, long enough to be grueling and have a high drop out rate, and a wide range of finish times...
yeah,im finally feeling like im fit enough to take something like the CDT on,more importantly i have the riding skills to keep me out of trouble and safe, and the mechanical skills to deal with most trailside situations, and for sure have the right bike for whatever bikepacking situation i might want to get into...just need to get my camping kit honed in,mainly getting something like a nice bivy sack and more packable sleeping bag,and a good down jacket....and even more important, getting the food thing dialed in...even the few short trips i have done the next morning i have always been way underfed, just no energy whatsoever...luckily theres a nice park in the mountains, its only about 20 miles away, and one mountain pass, but its easy enough to take a longer route to get there...
at any rate,a good spot to get the camping kit honed to the essentials, then theres plenty of other parks in the 60-90 mile range, and now with the straggler it will be possible to do sort of lightweight speed touring and be able to knock out 60 miles in say 4 hours...

anyway,good luck tomorrow...strong mind....

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck

Fuuuuuuuuuuuck

I'm beat up. The Lost Boys 50M race...yesterday...absolutely...vicious

^ Picture running beach sand...uphill...climbing over dry waterfall boulders..and then taking a truck trail up an exposed...very steep/rocky canyon. Now add that there were sustained 20-30 mph head winds..with gusts over 40 mph. That was the 1st 30 miles of the race. Probably 3500' to 4000' of elevation gain during that piece

then...the top 1/2 of the race. I break it down into 2 separate races...the sand box and the top.

The top climbs up Cuyamaca Peak (6500some')...which yesterday...had...misty rain and was completely in the clouds...with lesser but colder gusty winds....mud...not the best footing over some seriously technical single track. The kind..where if you...fuck up...you will be very much...a wrecked piece of shit.

* 2 goals before the race. Finish between 10 and 11 hrs...with a pipe dream (on this course..in those conditions) of going sub 10 hrs. The 2nd goal was to not get stomach/puking sick during the 50 miles.

Both goals were met.

** ran steady through the desert sand..even if my hamstrings, hip flexors, calves, and quads were twinging and twanging so badly that I thought for sure I'd pull something...and wondered (seriously wondered) how the hell I was going to be able to climb the canyon and the mountains...never mind..being able to bomb down hills.

Suffered big time in the blowing sand...it stung and blinded...suffered big going up Oriflamme in those winds..unable to escape them or the loudness...but able to...disappear into my pain and discomfort.

ran steady in the 1st section of the top piece...then suffered mighty climbing up to Cuyamaca Peak. We used 3 different trails to get up there. So many unnecessary switchbacks...the West Mesa fucking just miserable overgrown grass..over rutted trail with hidden rocks..raining and blowing cold..exposed but in the clouds

never thought that 7 mile climb to the peak would end. I've raced up that mountain a few times now...and it always gets a piece of my ass and mind.

From the peak...there was 7 miles to the finish down at the lake. On the peak is the 1st time I looked at my watch. On the peak is where I started my charge. I charged hard...all the way down another series of trails that were...mostly...rocks...and more rocks...and steep drops off rocks onto rocks...so hazardous on legs at any time...more when there are almost 50 hard miles on them.

Charged....collected one more position during the charge and finished in a full sprint....then started dry heaving..lol...but that doesn't count. I was done and living in my glory

*** Shaved over 20 minutes off last year's time.

****** The overall winner is a member of my club and a friend of mine. 42 yr old female. Sub 9hrs. She is a beast. Unbelievable. Executed her race plan to perfection...ran people into the ground until they conceded position. Perfect
