The 3 RKM girls to be screen tested together

The 3 RKM girls to be screen tested together

setting up...you can see...they are uniform..although the plant that I transplanted into the root pouch..looks so much bigger...somewhat due..to the pouch elevating her

So...a couple more weeks of veg. Started today....giving them time in HPS spectrums...ease them into those and the vertical bulb arrangement.

I'd like to transplant them into their 5 gal smart pots a week before entering flower. It will help with space....and makes sense..to keep moving them in and out of the flower studio...even if..for just logistics. This will be more true..once transplanted.

Once they are in 5 gal pots...they will have outgrown my veg space. Their last week of veg..may end up being under HPS alone. Get them in...get them started into their screens.

All details now...are still up in the air with the Hell Hound flights. Won't be able to get the total timing..until they land...and are out of the way.

timing is everything isnt it? i keep finding myself wishing i had pollen from stuff i have in the seed vault...i would kill for a teaspoon of dtc99 pollen right now,but i have little desire to grow any dtc99 right now in spite of it being a personal favorite...it would be an awesome mix to the pine tar kush i have going...i think it would also be a nice combo with the sssdh but alas no pollen...and coming from my last 16 week journey with sssdh im reluctant to play with long term sativas right now....whats the closet pollen chucker to do? lol

at any rate i have two more of my own work going, some c99 f3's and red queen (magenta99 x c99),cant wait to see what those bring..

You're always growing cool stuff. Don't much worry about pollens dude...it all comes round..

I'm just getting into indoor gardening again. Trying out new ways...new equipment...new plants...really into molasses and worm castings..and the smart pots.

Now...I'll do a vertical scrog with some hybrid sativas...that I've never grown...and see if I can maintain...manage to pull off a cool grow.

Just got back from running the deep hills...running mighty. Feeling strong on the trails...strong in the garden..drinking my teas...smoking my herbs...calculating the slipstream

i seem to be as aerodynamic as your average sail, some days the wind just really gets me down...

sorting seeds out of dried buds right now, weird how both times ive used this male c99 pollen to make more c99 seeds i have gotten no where near as many as the crosses i made with the same pollen, seems true this time as well,a well dusted plant and only about 50 seeds,on a different strain only a couple of branches dusted and i got hundreds of seeds...

In the Event of Wind

In the Event of Wind

Started blowing the other day...has not laid down yet. Continuous hour after hour..cutting through the trees...leaning into the structures. Off of freeze...into the winds. No breaks in the weather. Winter is full on

Back to Plan of Action

A look at the entire Prune Juice run...the 2 males are on the far right

I need to get some more root pouches...think there are 4 females that need them. The males can stay in their squares...but I want to help these females get big as they can...as fast as they can

So...on one end of the spectrum..I'll be running the Red Kali Mist in their sativa dominance...and then be counterweighting...with the other side of the spectrum...by running the indica dominant Prune Juice

Makes for an interesting and diverse population. A population that will be bred together.

* the Prune Juice...word association...grape purple indica sketched over with blueberries. Slow veggers for the most part...very slow. They grow in slow motion...slow gains..long plateaus..much patience needed

** Prune Juice is a great cross. It's going to work....I'm most positive this 2nd generation run...will produce some great bud

*** Not envisioning having to do much training on any of these. Should be stout...I'll need to open up the guts...about it

**** Thinking that I'll be harvesting RKM and PJ at the same time. The extended flower times...that I may see...in the RKM will mash with the extended veg times of the PJ. Should even out...cancel out...in the flower studio. How's that for logistical timing????

Buds

Buds

Continuing on with the multiple harvests...of a Hell Hound sister...who is now on the quick fade. Have her dumping some of her load...easing her...of her...cargo of buds.

Like picking clumps of cotton candy...from an ever bearing fruit tree. The resins...sweet as sugar...stick to your fingers

Here's a little nug off a different expression...that I took the other day...to twist up and sample.

Probably my wake and bake in the garden...tomorrow morning. A fresh ride into the hounds

* If you have never used a multiple harvesting method...I'd at least try it. You may find that the differences in a 10 day window...are not worth mentioning. Sometimes the earlier harvests are better than the later harvests. Sometimes the added days are a waste of logistical equipment and time...but...you'd never know it...unless you sampled them all. There's a lot of opinions on the matter...but this is what I've observed

Absolutely....10% milky white pistils, 25%, etc and on to all red pistils has deeper implications than just a pretty face.

If folks read Rob Clarke and others they'd see that it's indicative of varying states of chemical changes in the resin glands. Different weeds also respond differently so it's not just a simple formula. You might like the stage where the THC is ruling and the other components are secondary and vice versa.

Growing for weight? Totally different taste, high, onset speed and other factors when you go for the biggest resin factory.

To find your personal target and stylee, ya gotta test and sample, test and sample....what a tough job.

It is a tough job. I have to remember what joint is which expression. I also smoke a joint down a bit...then let it sit....then smoke on it at another time..just to make sure the flavor continues to transition. The end of a joint...should taste...as good as...the beginning. Part of the pudding test

I swear...when I hear so many people going on and on about a particular cut..or about taking a particular plant expression...in harvest windows narrowed down to within a few days of each other (like say 62 days instead of 65 days).........I kind of have to wonder...what all the hoopla is even about

Seems to me...or at least to me...I can't tell much of a difference between harvest windows...or exact expressions. Rarely do I ever find one expression...so much more outstanding than the others. Rarely do I find a huge difference in the smoke due to harvest windows either. True the resin changes with aging..but it's never struck me as real obvious. Highs are like flavors...very subjective

Maybe I haven't gotten to that level yet...but I've grown shit loads of plants...and not one...has been so righteous...that it stands out as something I need to have constantly. I've never found anything that I can't live without....or that I would label...elite. Even elites that I've smoked..I mean...elite is a very subjective word

Here's some of those flowers I showed earlier...manicured for drying

^ Yup...this stuff reminds me of cotton candy in the the way the flowers...whip up webs of stickiness. Really nice flowers.

Winter Beets and Carrots

Winter Beets and Carrots

Doing some harvesting for the juicer...not near as productive as summer..but still worth doing

* I'd like to get the deep earthiness flavor of the beet...into my canna plants. I'm talking about the base foundation flavor of the beet root. It's the most earth tasting flavor...I've found.

** filled 1/2 a 5 gal bucket with roots

i need to head down to the local coop and get some seeds for the new garden, got a big stack of lumber and a pile of bags of stuff to mix up,wont be too long before i can start planting some stuff out...now if i only had a room in my house all set up with lights and such....

Veggie seeds are just like canna seeds...all about variety and quality. After a few seasons...shit just grows everywhere...save plants and their seeds from time to time. Keep a steady flow of new genetics coming in

Today was the most amount of time...I've spent in that garden bed..since I planted garlic..back in October. Thing has been on auto pilot...almost a root cellar...as much as..an active bed still loaded with growing food.

Juice: beets, oranges, kale, carrots, ginger...smoke a hell hound fatty peace and out...chill

Nice!!

Nice!!

You'll fill that thing out very quick. Growing food is a very cool thing.

Had the afternoon to run. Winds have gone down...getting sunshine and temps in the 60's. Spent a couple hours rolling up and down hills..jumping deer and quail...over some trails and onto old mine roads...nothing so serious

the pictures below are showing the Hell Hound sister...whose flowers..I've been showing you...the last couple days. I've been harvesting off her lower middle...and in so doing...having removed those flowers..light is more freely available to the guts

Lots of meat left on the bone...probably be picking more off her..over the weekend

i can already see im going to have to build another one behind it at a 90 degree angle for the more sun loving crops as well...that one can just be 4x8x1 with no roof over it and i can keep it a bit sandier for things like chili that dont need such a rich soil as i hope to be building in the main bed...and possibly another narrow potato mound/bed as well....

Had some root pouches brought up last evening

Had some root pouches brought up last evening

This morning I was able to transplant the rest of the Prune Juice into the 1 gal pots...as well as...the 2 smallest Red Kali Mist.

Here's the 2 RKM...my freaky #1 selection is on the right. These two plants have been growing together the entire time. The #1 plant is nutrient sensitive...she gets pissed off easy..if over fed. The other one...is just a mellow grower...and likable. I'll flower these two later...deeper in...with the Prune Juice run

I picked this flower off one of the more "Kushy" Hell Hound expressions....a lower flower...little early sample. Plant is in her 60s

You'll be surprised how fast space gets used up. You'll be surprised how fast veggie gardening will overtake your plans...how it will manipulate you into giving away...all your sleep time.

Love watching other gardeners get fired up. Props
