A World On A String

T

THE PABLOS

Yeah...should have set up a trellis or a scrog. I didn't breed this round (except for the plants selfing themselves...as I detailed previously)...so really didn't have to move them.

For breeding purposes..I need to be able to move them...however..I might run into some big issues:

I've already started buying individual trays and 5 gal smart pots. This next round of plants will be bottom fed in those pots...in coco. I'm thinking I can grow bigger plants...but that creates the issues with being able to move them.

3 gal pots already produce difficult plants to move...so 5 gal pots may make it impossible for some expressions. Pocket doors are tight...plus I need to bring them through the veg room...it will be a difficult task..not looking forward to it...lots of stuff will have to be moved and tied up.

* aromas on the Hell Hounds...sweet sugary..funky funk..fruits and berries...

** weather is blustery...got in 3hrs on the trails..navigated drainages and stayed off ridges as much as possible. Nasty hard run...recovering...sore and beat up

This one again...

This one again...

Highlight the Hell Hound sister that...we previously discussed as having C99like structure. She being only 3.5 feet tall...and wide of branch...spaced out nugget clusters...not blow up flowers..but tight/compact density

Putting her in her late 40s early 50s...not sure...but around there. Blasting full throttle...not yet totally switched over to tea...but being fed tea along with Phosphorous salts.

* Her branch structure may be C99like...but that's about as far as the C99 goes. Out of all sisters...her aroma is the most mild funk..that's about all I can detect. Her sisters reek...but so far...she does not. No pineapple...No citrus

** Not going to finish in 50some days...well...that you can see...is apparent. Unlike some C99 I've grown...not going to finish fast.

Very interesting specimen. Feels Kushy (sorry..but that's the word that pops in). All I can do is follower her along...and have faith...that the genetic mash squanders no expression

i wish i had the stuff laying around so i could mock up a vertscrog screen idea i have had for a spell although what i have been thinking of is for larger tree type grows, the idea should be down scalable...

If I didn't have to move stuff..I could attach a screen from the rafters to the floor...hut like...at an angle (like my outdoor tomato screen)...and let the plants grow up...lay on the screen around the bulbs. Not many lumens would be wasted...penetration and support all in one. It'd be a cave of buds from the inside.

Interested to see what these plants would be like in 5 gal and properly screened.

I am collecting self seed from every expression that I have left in the studio....if possible. I already found some lower seeded buds off the vine expression from the other day...when I was trimming the 1st harvest. I should find beans on each one.

So...maybe I will get to see them again..and in bigger pots.

I see those bamboo poles are topped off in duct tape. I do it too....if you're like me you probably took one in the face or something.

I've been racking em' up lately....hahahaha

Awesome...lol...holy shit. Old skool

Bamboo stakes are highly dangerous to the stoned gardener...tape the ends..because I've come close to losing an eye.

I'm wearing #5 welders goggles now days...must protect the eyes from injury...those bare bulbs will eat your eyes

Some manicured Hell Hound nuggets...the stuff harvested a couple days ago. Doesn't weigh up...it's sativa light. An ounce in a sandwich bag...would look like a pillow of fluff. Bag appeal is outstanding...as long as you dig...the sativa style flowers. An ounce of this...will keep most smokers fucked up for a while. Longevity sacks

that one reason i stick to hoods, after working in a vert garden i got tired of the purple after images burned into my retinas

hut like...at an angle...got a pic or could you flesh that out a little?....enjoying reading about your existence....very vivid writing style

I think brother P is shooting for a stadium/scrog hybrid. I like that idea. The huge bushes coming up should benefit from that.

I can't get over how much those HH buds look like CJ...the theory of the recurring mother seems verified. Have you ever had most of the offspring lean towards the pollen donor,P?

T

THE PABLOS

My screen job would be simple. Like I use on Tomatoes..the squares of metal heavy gaged wire used as cement form (think the flat pieces are 3 x 5' with 4" squares for like $7 Home Depot)...Get 6 or so of those...they could be cut to fit and tied together.

Angle the screens...so the shape comes out like a pitched roof. The pots sit along 2 walls..plants trained through the screens..directing their growth up the pitch. The screens could be easily manipulated into more detailed shapes (like an angle within an angle)...attached at the ceiling and the floor

...but basically..grow the plants up and and around...somewhat over the bulbs.

The circle could be completed with plants that go unscreened...acting as door ways...so that there is access to the center. The only open hole would be the space above the bulbs...like a chimney to blow out the heat of the bulbs

Almost like architecture

That's hard to say with complete accuracy...but offhand...my answer is no. If the mother plant was a good breeder (my term for a female that often replicates herself when bred)...I'll usually see the plants trying to be like her.

It's no secret...I rely on my females. Males are not as easy to define. If I have a good breeding female...I feel...even if she was pollinated with a junk male...I'll still make good on the offspring.

I'm starting to really see...where selfing expressions...like this litter of Hell Hounds...is really where I want to be. I see it as a major pathway into expression. It's very direct

Frozen Days

Frozen Days

Down around 20...frost is like snow...everything is creaking..delicate time to garden

Look at two Hell Hound sisters...very desirable...about a week apart..same expression. These are mighty sisters.

It works this way with them: The middle branches..beamed brightest with lumens..bend (durable flexible branches...not flimsy) down under their advancing flowers' weight. This then opens up the plants...so that their guts are exposed...and light directly on them...thus...filling out the frame. All you need is a few stakes to aid a bit of support...as the majority of the work is done by the plants. One good thing about not having overly dense flowers

Sativa expression? That's what I'd say. Beautiful...sticky...stanky..medium density flowers...flowers everywhere...flowers for breakfast...flowers for lunch...flowers anytime...

I'll express my total happiness with this Hell Hound expression....any self beans I can harvest from these girls...will be coveted. Very gnarly plants....there is nothing I do not love about them. Starting to expand on my vision...building block

Like this? \ bulb / or this? / bulb \

Depending on the degree of the angle I always figured there might be a steep drop off in lumens.

On an unrelated note, I have to comment on your avatar. Many years ago I went on a camping trip and on the day we were to return, my friend ingested some crumbled up hits of T7. There's no telling the actual dose but he was incommunicado the rest of the night. On my coffee table was an issue of the British magazine "Uncut" with your avatar as the cover. My friend entered the wormhole apparently because he stared at that cover for hours. "The horror...the horror"

I know just what you're saying, Pablos, about the plant opening up as the flowers' weight bends them. I still use the wire frames behind them....especially for OG or other floppy hybrids. Loving the sisters...top fucking notch.

I was thinking more like / bulb \....but not exactly...I'd modify the angle with another angle 3/4 of the way up...shit...I'd have to actually set it up and run it..to see which way would be best.

From my observations..the lumens fall off toward the top and bottom of the bulb...but still at close range...they continue to penetrate. As long as the bulbs are blown cool...even with a 1000..I'm able to get up close.

I've had this original theater poster....for many years...mounted and framed on a wall

Is this your first time vert growing? How do you like it?

Yeah...1st run with vert. Thought I was going to run a 1000 and 2 600s...but I'm happy with just the 1000 and 1 600. Wouldn't mind lining the ceiling with 4ft tubes of all spectrum...if for nothing else...for pix.

Vert is basic...and basically awesome. It's important to bend your mind around it. You have to envision your plant structure different...because most your bigger buds...are coming from the middle of the plants. I'm used to training plants...so it's not a huge transition for me. But...I can already see..where you can get seriously crazy in vert. I'm sold...

Eugene is the shit...a gardening icon for me. Eugene is me

More shitty pix...sorry...I can't move these plants out..so messing around trying to give you dudes..an idea of plant structures...even if the pix are more or less 1/2 ass

^ these two Hell Hound sisters are the same expression....desirable but different...from the two I showed earlier. They are about a week apart...sticky...stanky....solid/dense...good bud set spacing...like sticks of candy. No complaints...these plants are all about performance. My gosh....really...these sisters reek...and are not floppies

Same thing...they both did a little selfing down low..and I will be coveting those beans. Gnarly good structure...production
