well the indoor garden is a tool forged for the purpose of allowing me to actually enact these long held plans...im also getting the woodshop together...i built the garden bed with the new chopsaw...slowly acquiring the tools i need to build more tools

Totally understand. I have a lot going on....and it all requires lots of labor/hours. Weather is a factor as well. I refuse to let projects take over my life though. I keep shit in perspective these days. It's all just...shit I've got to do

this diet of mine...brings me closer to the foods I eat...and the plants I cultivate. ya gotta get down in the fucking dirt...root around like a child of eden

Plantation man..overseeing the expansion of defiance..through the cultivation of plants for food and for thought...in all respect to their different functions. Building my empire of dirt...

i dont think it will be too long before i have over 200 different species of plants going here....the unc-tanical gardens....im getting up towards my previous strain whore record...only 16 different going right now...getting ready to make more crosses too...

Hail to our empires of dirt...
Keeping it in perspective, sometimes a hard thing to do. Thank nature for giving us the food, clothing, medicine, spiritual insight and tools we all need to coexist here!
Grow more grumble less...

3rd and final harvest

3rd and final harvest

These 2 colas were part of the final harvest of that Hell Hound expression....the one...I've been nipping off of...for the last 10 days or so

She flushed for weeks on the molasses/worm casting tea...consumed the majority of her leaves..burned them to yellowed browned crisps. You can still see she was pushing out new growth...even though....her uptake of tea had seriously slowed

as most finishes go...

* Geeze....Odessa dominant?....which would again...showcase the Casey Jones flower expression. Not hard to find the Casey look a likes...even though this is Hell Hound in the 2nd generation. Think...maybe...that H3ad's work is solid? Casey Jones is a very difficult flower structure to evade..if evading is your habit

** Harvested this morning...probably around 70 days...give or take a couple days. Sweet Berry Funky Fuel??? Yeah...something like that. Plenty of sticky...fluff

*** As I've already been smoking on this plant...for at least a week (multi harvesting benefit)...yup...yes...sativa rocket fuel...maybe not as speedy...as the vine expressions...but still...a go fast

Trimmed Tops

Trimmed Tops

Same flowers...with their trim applied

decent book and documentary.....basic facts. If you are tuned into diet...nothing too revealing...but..still good reenforcement for the plant based diet argument. There is....no argument really. research the subject...and you'll see this very clearly

just picked up about 40 packs of heirloom veggie seeds,im sure all fairly common stuff, but certainly a step above burpee!

You'll find...fairly common/basic strains are reliable foundations. Environmental factors, personal tastes..and simply what does well in your garden are mostly covered in the basics. The definitions of stability breeding...uniformity etc

Then...branching out through seed catalogs and your own cross pollinations will evolve the garden into other directions. No different than your canna garden. Find what you like...what grows well..what is worth time, space, and money...get crazy

I'll start ordering seed next month...for spring/summer. I'm not worked up yet...in total winter mode. It's a lot of effort kicking off the main growing seasons. Much has to be done...just to set up...especially while keeping a winter garden...plotting and planning...timing timing timing....and then the weather

planting time is still pretty far away here, easter is the last frost generally, think i should be able to manage to get some stuff sprouted and ready to go by then, everything needs a good root system by the time the heat hits...

The Daily Bread

The Daily Bread

Spent some time getting the 3rd harvest (off that plant) trimmed up for drying...whittling away as I do...with a benign attitude toward the task...and a cup of rubbing alcohol to keep sharp...the scissors

Here's the end result...nice little score for the efforts

Adding up harvests 1-3 should yield out decently....though you must know..this expression produced what I call "fluff" sativa flowers...not so dense but lots of surface area. Very much...typical of Odessa expression. I've grown so many of this type flower...it's like I can do it...in my sleep

* now I'll be looking for my next Hell Hound (there are 4 left) expression to start working on. Same thing...a little at a time...multi harvest

** I've observed that the branches most exposed to the bulbs...tend to ripen faster. Works out swell...because I can pick off the ripe branches of a plant...then rotate its offside toward the bulbs..let those flowers gain light advantage...ripen them up...then harvest them.

*** I was wrong about this particular plant...I really thought she had selfed herself...but found only 1 bean on the entire plant. That's ok though...she's nice...but not as choice as 2 others I'm now favoring even more.

**** These expressions tend to have large bracts...you'd swear they were seeded in some instances...totally faked me out. Once I got down to the lowers (where I expected the beans).....faked...and I'm a self proclaimed master at finding the beans..but nope..search as I did...just that single bean. Kind of funny...well...if you are me...it's funny

So cool dude.

I was informed last week...that I have the budget for a greenhouse/cold frame. It will take me awhile to figure out how big...exactly where I want to put it...how I will build it etc...nothing huge..and not for growing canna plants.

I can't...safely...put tomatoes into the ground until...mid June. I like to grow them in 1 gal pots until then...so that they have size and maturity. I'd be happy with a protected space...just to keep those plants in....do some germinating etc

Might be...I buy a kit...might be..I build one from recycle material. I'm a little overwhelmed with stuff at the moment...can't really concentrate on another project....until I finish up these. Juggling is only fun..to the point...it gets un fun

morning shit continued:

morning shit continued:

Thinking about this greenhouse thing

I don't want a big...or permanent one to start with. Already garden so much...so need to be here connected to the property..wouldn't want to go stroking in the deep end..with more out of hand weather manipulated environments..where I could see myself hanging a hammock...taking all my meals within

No. I'm much more reasonable. A smaller...mobile greenhouse...would suit my needs at this time. I'd not have to get that overly involved...as hell..maybe a greenhouse is more a pita..than a gift...if one..were..to say...calculate..all the time and effort to build a larger...permanent structure. I'd be digging...breaking rock...laying logs...salvaging glass...no. Not to start

Mobility...Locomotion...Nothing Permanent. I accept that way of venture. Lots of benefits...to being able to move..with the seasons. What was once a cool spot...late summer...is an oven. Follow the sun...or hide from it...different temps in different aspects...and importantly..elevation. 25' elevation drop creates dramatic change...30' even more. It's a different sort of navigation

Fucking what?

My girl...she got new shoes. She gotsz herself the female version of the trail shoe...I'm currently training in. Taking the plunge...we'll see how she takes to it. In no way...am I pushing her...that shit doesn't work...exact opposite. Taking her out on low mile...smaller hilled...low impact trail runs...starting when? Whenever she says...this is not my idea...but I damn sure support it. She's always been in decent shape..just doesn't stick with any sort of training discipline. Yoga..P90X..gyms..all that shit..I've watched her come and go...but who knows? She's all pumped up to run trails now

Juice..Kale, carrots, tangerines, oranges. hydroponic bodies...prefer hydroponic foods. That's my thought anyway. Works for me. Light..fast hitting..nutrient rich..absolutely no downsides to health or environment. Food is a drug...drugs come from plants. You can feel the wash of goodness...the sanity...the elevations

Weather rolling in...I'll be busting ass today

* I realized something this morning...while I was doing some gardening in the studios: I prefer growing cannabis indoors. More hypocrisy...the horror

i was looking at my raised bed i just built and it occured to me just how simple it would be to turn it into a small greenhouse, should only be another 200 in materials to make panels that could be put up in the late fall...

i dont think i would ever grow outdoors outdoors...in a well set up greenhouse sure, not too hard to grow year round in a greenhouse here, heck its going to be in the 60's again already....

Your bed would be simple to convert...but how long would you actually need it? Is it worth it? Depends on what you grow in it...factors

I think of my outdoor bed...all the white fly..and everything else. Do I want to deal with all that...all over again...in a greenhouse? My temp swings are so vast...and great..it would be a full time job...keeping it all flowing. I do enough of that already...lol...plants will enslave you as quick as governments

oh im talking year round veggie gardening for that current bed,i mean they grow crops pretty much year round here so something like what i have should make it more than possible to grow year round...
as far as growing mj in a greenhouse, what i would do there is grow insane long flowering hazes that are going to be in ground march to january...and maybe a small light dep area so i could shut down indoors for the summer...heck,the grow has 100% heated the house this winter, never even fired up the furnace and winter is all but over here...

Winter is not near over here

Winter is not near over here

Got some moisture coming in...but we are getting 60s and 70s days..nights are 30-35..windy a lot of the time. Heart of winter..February/March should bring needed rains. It will get cold again soon.

My last break..before the afternoon labor. I've been in and out of the indoor studios all morning. Been going along...unloading the veg studio...taking the plants out for bug spraying. figuring...configuring my studio situations.

* made some logistically minded decisions. Changed my mind on some things

Here's some Mox Mox seedlings (Chem DD X Flo x Chem DD)...out and about. These are the sprouts I started in starter peat squares..in straight worm castings...then transplanted in beer cups of coco. A little stutter...but mostly a smooth transition. Next go.. I'll start in perlite and worm castings. They've been bottom fed from start.

I took a branch off one of my choice Hell Hound selections. This expression is the one that grows straight up and down...like a dense bush. Her flowers are denser...and I'd say...more OGish. Aroma is like bubblegum funk..like a magic wand...drumstick

^ That girl (from which the branch came from) is still going strong...around 70 days.

good lookin flowers pablos, i used two 8 x 12 portable GHs last year, started all my veggies and cannabis plants in um. by june 1st had veggies in the ground with a 2 month jump on normal planting here. veggie garden was huge last year with such a great start.

same with the cannabis, really nice big plants to plug into the ground, and kept a bunch back in the black outs which finished 15 aug. dont think ill ever go another season without a Blackout. great quality to the point of it lookin like frosty indoor. each of those small Ghs put out a lb each. so well worth the effort.

this year im lookin to build a 20 x 24 pole barn frame and cover it with solex material available in rolls. make some removable panels for air circulation and such. did my buddies cold frame a few years back with it and you could sit on it between 4ft centers and it was strong as all get out, hardly even sagged from my weight(200+)

cant hardly wait for the upcommin season, all soil and ammendments were ordered in oct for the upcommin year. shouldnt come up short this season.

damn funkman...you are upping your game. 20 X 24...that's wild. Fucking props..blowing up

I went super cheap....ordered a 6 X 8 Shelter Logic portable. Metal frame...material covering...62 lbs...no tools needed..quick to set up. think it was $270something to the door. Way under budget...which scored points with the wife/accountant. I can't believe how reasonable I've become. Starting low...instead of diving deep. Keeping life mobile

Yup...just using it to get a jump on the tomato season...and probably to finish some plants. Small...simple...mobile..and I can store it easily.
I figure..if it works out..I'll get a few years out it. By then..I might have decided to go bigger and more permanent. Build a bio dome
