2013 happy happy joy joy to all

2013 happy happy joy joy to all

I was going off on Mox Krox and Mox Mox yesterday...how I had started with 30 beans of Mox Krox (the entire amount in existence)...and gone mad on them...culling all the way down to 5.

How those 5 stunted...slowed to a crawl..looked to be on death's door. All the beans I sprout...all the seedlings I work with...and I couldn't figure out what...the issue with these Mox Krox seedlings

Yesterday...I transplanted them out of beer cups into squares..just trying to understand what they might be needing. Now...just over 24hrs later...bam!...they are looking like they want to live...be a part of the program. Maybe they didn't like the cups

coming around. Now..I have little to work with concerning Mox Krox...but I'm hopeful that the Mox Mox beans buried in worm castings rise to become plants. Plants that can help continue on Mox Mox into the 2nd generation...and if needed...outcrossed to Mox Krox to save a part of the line..if the line can not save its entire self.

* I've never germinated herb beans in straight worm castings. Just felt like...I wanted to. Mox Mox has been such a thorn in my side in the past...that I'm spinning things different. Should know in the next day or so...whether I fucked up or not..figure it should work well

** I don't exactly understand why some crosses give me problems...are cursed. I have concluded that combining certain genetics...and even combining certain expressions..can create a mash...that proves to make itself hard to reach. The hole...if there is one...is a very tight fit.

Comings and Goings of Winds

Comings and Goings of Winds

Days ago..we were dusted with snow..after days of rains...the temps not out of the 40s during the day...low 20s at night..the ground frozen...black ice on the roads

Now there are cold north east winds coming through our canyons...climbing up out of the desert...steady and howling all night and day long. Someday I see myself being picked up by a sudden rogue gust...and blown out into oblivion. Until then...navigating the winds as best I can

* I sprayed my veg studio down with water...washing plants..upping the RH...but anyway...

one of those Mox Krox seedlings fell over under the weight of the mist...the collecting beads...so fuck it..killed it. Down to 4

Show you a picture I took of some Red Kali Mist and a Prune Juice

They are being sent a message. I'm telling them..."hey let's go." Crowded into a plastic tub..still in their beer cups...need them to show sex. I'm taking away space privileges.

When coach P cuts you from the team, there is no next season. BTW: do you do anything with vegetative growth? Defoliated something fierce the other day...while emptying the bucket of leaves,I thought to myself...dude, get a juicer.

Compost everything from the indoor gardens into the outdoor gardens. All the coco...used only once indoors...gets reused many times outdoors...all the green matter feeds the worm population.

Damn...remember how I used to be under the flag of White Fly? There used to be as many flies in my pictures..as there was..buds. Those were the crowded days of old. can't believe...looking back...that I made it through those wars. Lasted for years.

I'm waging war on a Thrip population. They are not near as devastating as White Fly...but still will damage plants. Seems like they come out of the coco medium...crawl up the plants..and munch on leaves.

Not seeing many flyers...but I've been seeing the leaf damages..so have looped me out the culprits...nasty looking little things. Spraying AzaMax..it works...but it's expensive and easy to overdo. I've not found anything better....that I'm comfortable introducing to my gardens.

Got to keep vegging plants at full speed...and they need to be clean of bugs (as much as possible...bugs are there no matter what imo) before they ever hit the flower studio. I do not want to continue the war in flower...once in flower...plants need to push through...bugs or not.

* Few things I want to bring up concerning the vert set up:

A. The upcoming winter/spring runs will be done in 5 gal smart pots (used 3 gal for the current run)...I'm going for bigger plants.

B. I want to bottom feed all flowering plants...so need to get individual trays for each subject. If not on a drip...bottom feeding coco is the next best way to go imo.

C. Thinking about using big chunk perlite for the very bottom layer of the smart pots...with the coco medium making up the rest. Depends on my mood..as I don't like perlite indoors...and unconvinced that it would really buy me anything in coco

D. Can't do a scrog because I need to be able to pull plants out for pollinations. Moving plants will be much more work...than it used to be

E. I'll most likely be going back to cages (I dislike bamboo stakes for many reasons)...but will have to go buy some of those 50some" cages..and probably have to modify the prongs...so they don't puncture the smart pot bottoms

F. I could tie plants to the ceiling...using string or whatever...but then I couldn't move the plants for pollinations. Perhaps after they are done with pollinations...I'll tie them up

G. I can use bricks to weight the pots from falling over. Counter weight.

......I can just see where I can make my canopy more of a jungle...and grow much bigger trees. Interested to see expressions on a bigger scale...bump up every open space around the bulbs...fill them with flowers

...if you want anything done right...do it yourself. Takes me a long time...slow unmotivated trimmer...but done clean. Spend a lot of time looking at individual flowers as they grow..might as well..finish them pretty. Part of my service

Hell Hound makes a great hash...and you know I'm collecting all the sugar leaves. Once all the plants come in...a procession of hash runs will follow

P-

Thrips don't fly, they are jumpers and are super easy to get rid of (even for someone as lazy as I)... hit them with some azamax then follow that with at least 3 consecutive sprayings of spinosad (beneficial bacteria) every 3-4 days... the bacteria works by acting in the gut of leaf chewing insects (mites, thrips, caterpillars etc.) causing them to stop eating and die... while completely safe for humans and pets. also beneficial nematodes in the medium will help by feeding on the thrips while in there pupa and larval stages.

True..more jumpers than flyers. I usually see them crawling on leaves or up branches. Seems like they come out of the medium. I'm almost positive...coco comes with it's own supply of bugs. Straight out of the bag.

I need to resupply at the shop...so I'll pick up some more azamax (used the last of what I had...this morning) and some spinosad. When I spray...I don't spray in the veg studio. I move everything out...hate spraying that shit in the actual space. Sprays tend to make a sticky mess.

They aren't much an issue...but since having dealt with years of White Fly...I'm more active in keeping such insects in check. I've put down my sloppy ways to a point...keep everything tidy. That's why I'm thinking the bugs come with the medium.

Good looking out bro...appreciate it

Solid info, but too cheap to buy azamax, still mixin neem/dish soap. Got lots of spinosad on clearance, if there was a coupon my mom woulda pinned it to my mittens! Peace homies

^ I hear you on the cost of azamax. You can drop close to a $100 quick. I think that once you mix it...you have a 24hr window to use it. I used to buy it for White Fly...and man...fighting off that invasion cost me a lot of money. Used it frequently back then. Not now...it's just a habit having a bottle around.

Hell...I might try skipping picking it up...just go with the spinosad...see if I can get off cheap. These bugs are more annoying than anything else..but fuck'em..not allowing an invasion either.

Get rich....invent an organic bug kill all...sell it for outrageous amounts of money. Proven model

Dropping in....where has it been?

Dropping in....where has it been?

Last we knew...seems I was exterminating Thrips..conversations circulated around them and about extinguishing their population. Well...that Azamax (gnarly stuff) did whack them back...then I found a bottle of Safer Soap or something or another..that was in a cabinet..and used that a few days later. I did get some Spinosad...but no need for it at the moment....the Thrips are knocked back and not annoying me.

Here's a look at a vine Hell Hound expression...well...parts of her. She's a beast...so pulling her down with multiple harvests.

60some days on these flowers...the rest of her will come down...probably over the weekend. Flushed on the molasses/worm casting tea for a couple weeks...yet she flushes out her greens..fading away...quite willingly. Her uptake of fluids...has slowed to a crawl. She still shows some fresh growth even so.

* I've been smoking her similar sisters. These sativa dominant types...are like a mighty rush. Out in the studio this morning...finished up feeding..and lit a fresh joint of this kind of expression. Smoked it down about a 1/4 way and then finished a cup of Yerba Matte tea..........

found myself up on the pull up bar...slamming a set..then straight to the dip bars...slam a set...down for push ups...slam a set.....all in just a couple minutes..lol...fuck man...it's like SHAZAM

If you don't dig speedy weed...this is not for you. It's fast enough...that I need to step back...and take some deep breaths. Calm the wave of paranoia that hits for a couple minutes. That paranoid feeling is kind of desirable in a way...lets you know there are prices to pay for taking the ride.

Once the initial rush passes...the paranoia disappears...and leaves you with a mellow but powerful high. About perfect for hitting..before a trail run...blast you up into that 1st hill...then chill down into the chopping rhythm of purposeful running. That's why I like vine Hell Hound expressions..running man weed

** I've smoked a lot of sativas over my smoking career (a few decades)...and I'll say this: I'm more than happy with the modern sativa hybrids. They really do it for me....cultivation wise..head wise..flavor wise...every way wise. I have no need to seek "root" sativas...or flower plants for over a 100 days...my needs can be met...in under 70..and maybe someday...under 60

Furthermore...lol...I'm just really happy with what I have. Blessings to all...who can find happiness..in what they have NOW

Man, I love that kind of weed. I had a cut of S99 that was exactly as you describe, that was my first real headrush sativa-dom smoke that made me poke out a J and lay down for a bit. Walls start to spin and your heart and mind begin to race. Love it.

I've had plenty of Sour to know that buzz comes from the C99 side of things. One main reason I'm interested in exploring that line. Not telling you anything new, I know you're well aware of the quality present in that line.

Not to be gross...but these things I'm growing...make me have to poo sometimes. It's shit weed...in a cleansing way lol...anyway...keeps me flushing and flowing.

On the up and up though..I dig these kind of highs...I don't mind the wave of sweat and blood sugar drop. I don't mind...flipping out for a little while..freaking out...that the walls are closing in. Listening for sounds...that are not there....noided out to the point...I need to pull myself together..get a grip on shit

As cultivators..at these levels we're getting to...maybe we are fine tuning our expressions to our bodies. If we are selecting more and more to what works for us (as individuals...not as a general blanket)...it stands to reason...that this could probably...be true.

For me...I'm coming around the circle again. Look at these Mox Mox (Chem DD X TFlux) sprouts....shot glassed in water...then planted in straight worm castings. Last evening they were transplanted into beer cups of coco...still in their peat worm casting capsules

Here's the slowest plants I've had...in forever. Mox Krox (Mox Mox X Grape Krush)....just the 4....the whole line...right here. They grow as they see fit...healthy...but holy shit...I think they are waiting on the Mox Mox sprouts to catch up...so they can run together.

Ok...we have more weather rolling in. My wood pile is getting decimated...gots to go split more rounds

* I'm healed up and running again. Feeling very good...'13 is going to be a breakthrough year for me. The gods are giving me favor

** I swing a 16 pound maul to split rounds of Oak. It's a work out in itself. Yup...smoking that Hound and crashing down the forces...Hell Hound is great wood splitting weed

What's left on the Vine

Look at the remains of the vine...whose flowers..were shown yesterday. Still has some nice mass...another round to harvest

Few more days...and she'll be gone. Standing proud though...here she is in the forefront...beside a couple sisters

In the rain....heading to the coast..

More pix of the remaining Hell Hound line up....howling down the barrel...fucking me up out in the hills..full on expressions...no quarter..getting what I asked for....bless it be...break through

why was it you didnt want to vert scrog? that just looks like a natural trellis plant to me...

we had a couple days of snow here,it was pretty trippy riding around in my little warm bubble of high tech clothing...maybe sssdh wasnt the best pre-ride smoke since the visuals of the snowflakes and the flat light was putting me in a trance which is not always a good thing since a thumbnail sized pebble could put me down hard...funny thing about riding a bike with a contact patch the size of 2 postage stamps, when you lose traction its sudden and often painful....

Damn, those look dank! :tiphat:
What's the nose & flavor on them beauties?

just popped a couple of my haze hybrids & a f13/swt3 Should keep me busy thru the winter :skiiing:

A 1-2 punch with spinosad has worked great for me, following up after another product. I use it along with pyrethrum, but following azamax should be no different.
Knock'em down & weaken'em, then finish'em off with the spino ;)
I do 1 pyrethrum, then 3 followup spinosad treatments every 3-4 days.
The spino is the most gentle of all I've used too, no adverse effects at all. Been clean for months since the last borg sighting.

Good to see ya still rockin it!

:respect:
