Hempy's Harvest

Hempy's Harvest

High!

Well, this week we harvested two Lifesavers that were on a boosted nute regime with KoolBloom. I got one a little strong and the pH got a little wack so the leaves burned a bit but the buds look fat and feel thick as a rock.

Here we have the trimmed plants. Two main colas are hanging over a tray of lower branch nugs and at the bottom is a plate full of the top most branches.

This is a close up of the plate of upper branch nugs. These things are really thick and heavy. The KoolBloom made a BIG difference in bulking up the buds.

Here we have a most delicious Lifesaver cola. This thing is so much fatter than my previous LS colas it's ming boggling. They are easily twice the weight!

Well, hope you enjoyed the eye candy!

Until next weeks harvest.....

Weeky Update

Weeky Update

This week was a small harvest, only one smaller Lifesaver. Due to the different flowering times of the strains some weeks I don't always get 2 plants each week but it averages out to that.

The reason the LS was smaller is it's been on the side without the light mover (it's coming this week) and has been in the shadow of another monster Hawaiian.

Here's a panoramic shot of the garden this week.

This week I hope to be starting some beans: Bogglegum, BOG LSD and Chronic. I'll get photos posted when I start them.

Cheers!

Thanks for stopping by Amd! The main reason I went perpetual was that I knew I wouldn't last 3 months between harvests!

Why thanks zeppelindood! I really like showing people what I've got going on, but can only do it online!

Here's a quick shot I just took of the current monster bud in the garden

Enjoy!

Spinning plates! You got that right. Today we installed a Light Rail, but someone forgot to pick up the stabilizer... so the light is in place, but has a little hitch in it's movement.

I got so tired of jumping through hoops to score. Getting plain street weed is too scary or not worth the $ and effort. I have access to a grower to buy, but he wanted an arm and a leg with a 120 mile drive to score. No thanks!

I am FREE of the government forced MJ Black Market once and for ALL!

Yeah BAY-BEE!

Excellent thread hempy.

I just got a waterfarm setup & thanks for the tips. You covered all the questions I had already. Except for how about starting from seed? When can I transfer into the wf?

You can put sprouts straight into a WaterFarm but you need to use plain water or very weak nutes for first week or 2. Also make sure your light is not too close or so hot that it cooks or burns the seedlings.

Cheers!

thanks happy. I've got some babies in a bucket right now. I had to start over, so no clones to work with yet. I just barely got any nutes in there now, still first week, so going slowly with nutes.

Weekly Update

Weekly Update

High!

Well, this week we chopped 3 Royal Hawaiians. These things grow these monster colas that needs all kinds of help for support.

Here's the three lady's hanging:

Here's a branch that was one long bud! It's about 18" long and nothing but bud.

And finally, the biggest bud of the batch. It's the same bud from earlier photo holding an orange lighter. Here we have this monster next to a blue liggter.

I also started some Serious Seeds Chronic on Thanksgiving Day. No sprouts yet as the first place I put them was too dry, second place too cold. Well, my stupid ass finally realized the best place to put them was in clone humidome. :wallbash: Hopefully next week I will have something.

That's it for this weeks adventure in Hempy's Garden. Stay Clean and Green!

Cheers!

Hiya Hempy,
I love your garden.
And your royal hawaiian is one FAT plant!
I can't wait to see how your Chronic comes out.

Bootyful. Simply bootyful. :)

Your buds are beautiful. What is that sligh hue of color in all of your pictures? Some kind of effect from the camera or the software?

Also you were right about the roots. I checked mine last night and they were the color of the GH mix (kind of reddish) and not white like I had thought.

The varying colors are do to the multiple light sources (floro, tungsten) I have and whether or not the flash went off.

I'm using a Samsung 301 3.2mp camera and I've not quite got this digital photography down. I am having trouble controlling the focus alot. I need to learn the range of the regular and macro settings better.

CO2 and Recirc pump added!

CO2 and Recirc pump added!

My buddy shows up yesterday and says, "Hey! Guess what I got!". He whips out a box that says CO2 Controller on it. :woohoo:

Well, today we got it all installed and everything hooked up. Had to replace the hardwire of the exaust fan with a pigtail so it could be plugged into timer. Right now we are using 2 timers to turn the CO2 and Fans on/off.

It's going to be impossible to keep everything in sync, but hey, I'm not payin for the CO2 and I'm going to see some electric savings with fans cycling and off at night. Eventually I will have electronic monitoring and control from my PC to better synchonize everything.

WaterFarm Modification: Recirculation/Drain Pump
One of the drawbacks to the WaterFarm multi-unit system is circulation. Alot of people add a pump in the rez and pump drip lines to each bucket. I'm not crazy about this for several reasons. First, I have two system rez buckets meaning I would need two pumps. Two more pumps running would add even more to my electric bill. Secondly, I'm not crazy about drip lines, with my luck one would pop off and flood my room. Lastly, it takes alot of time to gravity drain the system and I wanted a way to suck the system dry faster.

My solution was to add a quick disconnect between the rez and the buckets.

I've added a valve coming from the rez, we only want to suck from the buckets. Add a Tee behind that to branch off another valve and a quick disconnect fitting.

Adding a short piece of hose and the other quick disconnect to the pump and I can quickly pump the buckets back into the rez for a recirulation or to waste for draining.

(the drain hose is not connected to pump in photo)

This setup sucks 10 WaterFarm buckets dry in less than 15 minutes compared to the 3-4 hours it would take via gravity. Now, by shutting off the individual bucket valves, I can pump specific buckets dry for cleaning or flushing.

Yeah BAY-Bee! Today was a GOOD day!

Cheers!
