Welcome Sarahnya :)

Glad to hear you are on the last stage of flowering with your Malawi. Are you growing indoors or outdoors ?

Kindly, post pics as they will help us to evaluate how long do they need to finish.

I'm 8 weeks into flower with Ace Malawi and wondered how much longer I have to go?

The plants just started to throw brown pistels in the last week. I vegged 5 weeks, used lots of lst and ended up with a short bushy plant that looks a bit like an Acer. Lots of buds but not massive.

A couple of phenos I selected out of an F2 population, around 60 days guessing need another two weeks, One is a sweet fruity green pheno and the other is a purple with a carrot incense nose.

Lovely colas PurpleBuz :)

Thanks for sharing. Nice expressions on your next generation Malawi seeds. Released Malawi generations are P4 unless you got the Breeders Pack. Glad to hear you are playing with the different expressions of the strain. Feel free to comment how was the parental plant selection to produce your seeds and the frequency of phenos in your new generation. Are you growing any Killer pheno ?

Throwback to some Malawi vegging in a greenhouse. Ended up getting about a lb per plant. long forced veg time with light supplemental light just to keep in veg. Grown at 4,000 ft in the clouds on the side of an active volcano.

Really lush and healthy Malawi, bagada :) Lovely greenhouse as well.

Just make sure the plants in the greenhouse don't get too crowded, moisture is low and air renovation and airflow are correct (especially during the second half of flowering) to avoid botrytis fungus.

3weeks old mal fem clone, topped once week after rooting, topped second time week later. some cropping to sides few days ago.

winter sucks, very dry air. 20-30% humidity. seems to grow tho. strong smell already. reading this thread made me do it! thanks for input everyone.

Nice Ur Humbl Nr8tor!

Did you get Malawi Breeders Pack fem ?

No breeders pack, dubi. These are seeds that you sent to me with another order many years ago. Labeled ‘Killer Malawi S1’. I intend to clone from this plant and then flower this one out either indoors...or possibly outdoors, but I am a little concerned with marine layer in many evenings once she gets well into flowering.

What’s the smell like, captainrelief? My S1 has very little smell at this point. Very mildly woody.

I just noticed what looked like the beginning of PM on the Malawi S1. I plucked a few leaves. My indoor space is not dialed in as it’s been years. Not enough ventilation and although we’ve had some dry weeks recently, it’s maybe not good enough. Try to get some of that taken care of as the Malawi seems sensitive.

uh, tricky question for chainsmokers nasal input detectors. but for sure its nothing fruity, exotic or anything "nice". Dark dirt like scent maybe.

with little playful overstating ill give you this thought experiment..

imagine a unglebens jar halffull of water and lots of cig butts in there. on a closed balcony. sitting without a lid in a direct sun. and you walk in to the space. :D

its something like that, but milder and not so repulsive.

your plant seems to have pretty hardly reddish stem? all over?

mine only has a thin red stripes on 4 sides. leaf stems some are all red.

growing on bcuz allmix 10l and have been given only RO water. no ph check given, wanted to make it easy for myself. so i just poured it in. seems to work without major problem signs so far.

hopeful plan is to fill 1.5m x 1.5m tent with it. on the screen.

have atamis 50l bio organic dirt sack for later use with some atamis organic nute starter kit along side it. have zero experience with these from before. wish me luck :D

and PM stands for? postmortem?primeminister?pythium-motherfucker?

oh ye didnt recall that one, fungai, figures. as humidify and poor ventilation was stated.

things took turn to shit quickly here. just as i went to state that "is growing normally".

noticed little white specs on top of the leafs, and what do you know, black slowly moving(some of them) dots under the leafs. maybe with little red dot on them.

fuckers can be easily seen as the light shines thru the leaves. when you peak from under.
stains your finger with red liquid when you press them between your fingers.

on the site, first thing i can do is tobacco juice. never have ran in to pests before. only regular flyes.

good links to these kind of problems are much welcome.

so..

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=11688

i went by that one. made the tobacco juice and sprayed the shit out of the plant and top layer of the soil. that was in the mid day. before the lights went out the same day, used some pyrethium plant spray with same tactics... let it sit over darkhours and when the lights came back up rinsed with tap water. lots of it.

managed to moist the soil in such manner with combination of em all that it pushed my watering routing to upcoming future. much to much joy, the plant didnt seem much effected by it.

also replaced the 600wmh with 250w mh. allowing the thermo to run the exhaust almost in minimal rpm. humidifiers efect rose from 35% -> 60%.

will wait few days and to the spray routine again.

interesting side note... how phonecam shows the spectrum change of the lamp if you compare to previous picture...

oh yes, some kitchensoup catching plates as well for identification purposes.
