Very fat and dense! I'm going to try picking my next Malawi earlier. From your description of the 10 week sample, this one should be a nice, but quick blast off! Nice job

Peace, God bless

Thanks Solar,
Have you had a chance to try much of yours yet?
Those where some beautiful flowers in your greenhouse.

I’m hoping the high will still be somewhat functional.

Thank you my friend. Yes, I have tried them. It's hard getting half way through a joint though, because it expands in the lungs so much. I have had great expando weed before, but this is incredible stuff. As I inhale, the expansion is immediate and I can feel my lungs start to quiver and spasm before I'm finished inhaling. I have no doubt it will be amazing, especially M-1, the really skinny leaved pheno, very greasy and oily smelling. Right now, my tolerance is way up again, so after a good cure, I will take a few days off of weed, then try it and report back.
Peace, God bless

12 1/2 weeks in flower for this Malawi fem. The last few pistils are withering and she’s getting nice and frosty. Probably cut this down in a day or two. Debating leaving it a little longer but I need the space and with how strong the sample was at 10 weeks I’m sure this will be great as is.

Sounds like some “killer” smoke. Funny you mention greasy, when I touch the resin on this one it feels greasy and wet, and takes a bit rubbing it between your fingers before it gets sticky. I hear you on the tolerance part. Ive cut back a bit in the morning and afternoon and it seems to help. I don’t know if I could take a whole day off. I have noticed that some sativas seem to just bypass my tolerance level and get me really high.

Really appreciate it. I’m new to this so feels great to hear others would be happy with what I’ve grown.
I sparked my first joint back in 1996 but other than a few bag seed planted in the woods, I just started growing 2 years ago. And just started taking it more serious back in the fall when I started all my Ace genetics and switched to coco.

Cut her down last night and after hanging in my dry tent away from my zam and Tikal, I’m now getting a weird star anise kind of spice just in the air around the plant. Really fresh and strong smell.
Hits you in the face when you open the door!

Does that sound normal to anyone?

I was wrong about the star anise.
It’s closer to cloves or allspice. Still smells funky if you touch the resin but it’s incredibly spicy smelling in an enclosed space drying.

Still hanging at the moment. Took a small bud from the bottom and broke it up to dry faster for a sample.
Might do some dry sift with some of this. Very happy with this one!

No worries there. I just like to test them as they go along. I like to smoke the bottom maybe 1/3 of the plant while I cure the rest. Gives me something new to smoke right away and keeps me out of the good stuff
I just can’t get over the resin on this plant

A few pictures of my girls. 4 females, one of which is a standard. I have one really nice short bushy fast phenotype. Two others are tall thin slow and one runt. No real smell yet on any of them. These are au natural. Maybe should have topped. Will do in the future.

Jpegs are day 35 of flower.

Hi blondie :)

Thanks for sharing pics of your Malawis in early flowering.
Looks like they have finished with the early flowering stretching and now they have started to focus their energies on flower production.

A transplant to bigger pot at this stage (just a slight increase of soil will do) would be a good idea, in that way they will flower much more abundantly they will go through the flowering with much lesser feeding deficiencies or ph imbalances.

Try to provide strong light intensity to the whole plant structures and stable warm temps for the whole flowering cycle, and they will reward you greatly :)

Malawi has a very discreet aroma in flowering, only the fruity or the purple phenos of stronger and more refined terpenes will produce louder aromas in late flowering, yet much more discreet than your typical skunk or kush hybrid. Hope it helps!

Thanks dubi. I have one larger pot I can use. Any guess as to how long the short fat phenotype takes to flower? Also the two tall ones? What phenotype do the tall ones look like to you??

Hi Blondie,

Your Malawis are still too early in flowering to identify their phenos. I usually classify the different Malawi phenos (Old Killer, New Killer, fruity and purple) considering flowering traits, effects, potency, terpene profiles and pigmentation rather than leaf width or height of the plant, and for that plants need to be more advanced into flowering.

Overall with cannabis plants, shorter sized plants usually finish faster while taller plants take longer to finish.

Purple Malawi and ?

Purple Malawi and ?

Hello -
I’m in my third week of flowering standard Malawi. I started with 6 seeds from Ace. I accidentally killed one and had 3 males. Down to two females. I had some soul trouble so they ended up vegging way longer than anticipated. Very excited to grow this. Tried Orient Express last grow- most beautiful plant, great smoke !
One Malawi has a lavender purple emanating from the base of the sugar leaves. Beautiful. The other phenotype is a lighter green, much larger internode spacing. They started 12/12 at the same time, but the purple one seems about 2 weeks ahead. Purple doesn’t have as much stretch as the other one, which is reaching towards my light. I’m using Samsung F series strips x6 for about 360 Watts in a 3’x3’ space. The light is only 1” thick (passive cooling) so I can make the most of my 5’ tall (1.5 meters) flower space. It’s getting tight !
How much earlier does the purple pheno take to finish ? I’m expecting the non purple one to finish not before 14 weeks.
I Love Ace Seeds !

Here is my purple Malawi at 6 ½ weeks. I love the colors. Sprouted at at the same time is the green Malawi. They’re squeezed in together.

Looking very nice at 6 1/2 weeks and I'm loving that purple with that generous dusting of trichomes. You should get a nice harvest!
Peace, God bless
