I have 2 Malawi's in veg just lost my sole Zamaldelica due to low level in the rez but will run those in due time. The Malawi are not very branchy so far but just topped both of them.

my malawi looks like a broom stick as of now lol mine are outdoors guerilla style and gets 6hrs of direct sun. im hoping she will start to branch out as the summer rolls on.

Hello guys,

Just finish to harvest the last of my 7 malawi ladies :). One still hanging drying but some are in jar since maybe one month.

I think there are a lot of good feedbacks on this strain, and it's very difficult for me to be precise in english so i won't do a perfect description but just put the finger of what impressed me or not with this strain.

good points: - 7/11 seeds were females, think it's a good ratio for pure sativas.
- Very big yields!!! almost 700gr for a 600W light!!! Even if some phenos are fluffy like you can imagine with pure sativas, it's a very high score for me in this grow conditions (first time in this box, not cuts but seeds...).
- some very short phenos with enormous colas, that was what i was searching
- almost no odours in grow, very appreciated where i live.

bad points:- no odours ;)
- time in flo: first pheno i got was ready in at least 16 weeks!! Just to have an amber trich it's a long long way to go...but i have to say that it was under 12/12 because of hybrids in the other side of the box, and we know it's not adapted to pure sativas. As to me it's a lil bit too long to wait for malawi, would have grow zamaldelica or old hazes if i had knew.
- i know the cure is really not long enough for now, but after 1 month i'm a lil bit desapointed about the power of the high/stone...maybe i was waiting too much about it...but i have not yet found the so strong effect everybody is talking about, just a high i can describe as "clear" (golden gage from gage green is more powerful...).

I will probably try to do a proper smoke report of each of seven phenos i have in few weeks (just to be sure to judge the product with a good cure). Don't know about posting pics i'm a lil'bit paranoid with new technologies (and i'm only 30 years old lol).

Be safe, Smac ;)

Malawi is one of the fastest and aggressive cloning and vegging plant. Most of the phenos I had went at least 12 weeks. Malawi isn't Malawi without at least 80 plus days of flower. They did very well in the clone machine too. Go ACE! GT is the best though.

Grow Recap

Grow Recap

I had 3 Malawi's this indoor season, each different in appearance and smell but each very vigorous in growth and resin production. All were grown in 5 gallon rose pots that were vegged for around 4-5 weeks without any topping or pruning. If I did have a grow log many would find it very boring as I'm old school and do things the simple way. I use either Pro-Mix or SS#4 and use only Peters 20/20/20 or 10/30/20. No snake oil, no latest and greatest growth enhancers or bud hardners and rarely does my water (RO) go beyond 400 ppm.
For lights - this grow I used a 315W CMH and all plants went under this one light.
As said before I had 3 different pheno's; a 16,18, and 20 week plant.

For this post I want to focus on the 18 week lady. She was massive, coming in at 10' and was a huge producer. I took a couple of buds as I always do and laid them aside to dry for a few days.
Later I ground them up, rolled a small J, sat down with my wife and sampled the goods. Smoke was smooth and dense with a definite carrot taste on the backend and it had that hazy incense smell - for those of you that have had the pleasure of smoking Neville's Haze, you'll understand.
It didn't take but a minute for me to feel it set in - three tokes and I was OMG this is going to be insane after a few months of curing!
3 tokes will take my breath away for a good 15 minutes, 4 tokes and I'm walking sideways and day tripping!
My wife took 5 and went to the clothes line and had to sit down! When Dubi says not to operate a motor vehicle or machinery - hes being absolutely honest! This herb will put you in a completely different dimension for over 5 hours. The only thing Ive ever smoked that compares to this type of high was Monkey Paw back in the late 70's - its down right devastating and I'm digging it!

Here is a pic of the 18 week bud, its beautiful. However my senses tell me the 20 week plant; which is much smaller in stature will be even stronger .... stay tuned.

Smashing review and very happy to hear that. Just what Ive been searching for, a smoke so potent that its effects last hours ! that way a little lasts you a long time. Most potent smoke I ever had was down the Portobello road in the 80's when I scored this deal. It didn't even look like weed to me, just a lot of shiny looking brown leaves that looked a bit moist still and if it wasn't for the seeds inside I would thought I was ripped off, but that smoke wrecked my entire afternoon and put me as you say in a different dimension for hours. Screwed up my hearing too so my voice had a hollow metallic sound to it when I spoke and people sounded like they were very far away down a tunnel when they spoke to me. My knees felt disjointed and it became very difficult to judge the distance to the ground for me when I walked, damn what a smoke. Been searching for something like that ever since and I wish I had been a seed collector back then.

Secondly, I hope everyone is drying their Malawi minimum 30 days (more like 90 days). I found out the hard way how much better it got after a solid dry and as it began to cure. Malawi smokes good then goes into aggression mode with an excellent 3rd stage.

It is amazing to me the differences in leaves for the Malawi. Some are somewhat wide and more Indica looking, and then some are like the ones above.....very thin and Sativa looking.
Good luck Ky....she looks great!
