Excellent. Tomorrow will be 9 weeks of flowing. frost is definitely picking up….. pistils are about 50/50. A few burnt tips here or there from my attempt to find her limits and push past 1.9 EC, if I run this clone again next time I’ll stay at 1.8 EC max which will be perfect for her. I always like pushing the limits on the first run with a new plant to find out how much is too much, then back them off slightly. Currently at 1.7-1.8.

I think I’m going to give her another week of feed, then start flushing her at week 10 and look to take her at 11 weeks. I’m guessing the Trichs arent going to turn on me that fast…..

Love the way you are finishing her this time @OZZ_  showing a nice balance of Old and New Killer traits in a single plant. As we discussed previously, i don't recommend to feed Malawi higher than 1.8 ec at peak of flowering production (even with the hungriest specimens), and the increase of ec after this point of ripeness won't have much benefits, quite the opposite, i would start considering flushing. Let her continue and over ripe her a bit if you want to experience its most intoxicant-strongest side.

Malawi Fem Harvest Day @ 14weeks!
🙌🙌🙌

There’s so much to love about Malawi! My friends call it Wowie Malawi! The resin glans glisten like diamonds and are as sticky as a fly trap! I love the few leaves and bud structure too! There’s a range of minty juicy fruit gum terps has you licking your lips. Early smoke samples have a very deep and calming high with crystal clear sativa clarity that I love! I like it so much that I’m seriously contemplating devoting the entire next grow to a more proper Malawi Selection making seeds, storing pollen and with longer veg time! I can’t wait to report back a more proper smoke test of the cured final product!

Tops 🤩🤩🤩

I did try a few early samples, had a very deep feeling, calm but at the same time messed up, in control but not, can’t say I’ve ever felt anything quite like it ever.It wasn’t overpowering for me but I could see if potency goes way up how it could be scary. The other morning I wake and baked a big rip. As I looked in the mirror, I looked myself in the eyes, and startled I said oh shit that must be Malawi eyes! Clear piercing beedy eyes scary like I was a shaman going on a hunt! Lol Therefore I can’t recommend looking yourself in the eyes on Malawi. Lol
Looks dynamite :hotbounce @tjmccoy Glad the experience motivates you to dig deeper into the line. And if you are amazed with its potency and effects fresh, wait for 3 months of curing. Hope you and your friends enjoy it! :tiphat:

This is just a follow up on my 2022 Malawi and Super Malawi Haze grow, in greenhouse at 47N. After 3+ months of cure, the effect of the strains has mellowed.

Malawi (harvested Nov 7 and 14): Right after harvest, Malawi's psychoactive effect was so strong it was almost incapacitating. I could not even finish smoking a joint. "Devastating", as the ACE description says. Now, post-cure, the effect has smoothed and the "rough edges" have gone. The effect is not as powerful. This is a welcome change. The effect is now clearer and purer, a strong sativa effect, but smoother and with a more focussed body + head high. Long lasting, great in the evenings, sleep is welcome afterwards.

Super Malawi Haze (harvested Nov 17 and 24): After 3 months, SMH still has the more cerebral effect as compared to Malawi, which in comparison lacks cerebral. Still has about 50% of the strength of Malawi's body/face buzz, plus a strong cerebral buzz from the Nevil's side of the cross. SMH was my "all-time favourite" for a month or so after harvest, but the Malawi has slowly become my preferred ACE strain from 2022 because it is such a sweet and smooth feeling. Am going to test the SMH again after more cure.

Cheers all!

Thanks for coming again back after the 3 month cure with a comparison between straight Malawi and Super Malawi Haze @Emeraldo :) much appreciated.

Thanks Dubi! Tomorrow will be week 12 and she has been getting flushed for a little over a week now. I have been gone on a trip for a few days, so I will see how she looks when I get home tonight and consider taking her tomorrow at week 12 or maybe even giving her another week until week 13 and then taking her ….. to see what this devastating Malawi is all about :dance013:

Very much looking forward to it!! :headbange

Alright the Malawi came down today at 88 days / 12.5 weeks.

Overall I consider this a decent attempt but I’m determined to grow her better so I’ll need a third run with her. I will definitely make a few changes next time I run this clone. Firstly I’ll stay below 1.8 EC and I think likely I won’t go above 1.7. What was confusing me was when she was at 1.8 EC… she kept eating up and yellowing a lower fan leaf here or there, I interpreted that as her needing slightly more nitrogen so I bumped the EC to 1.9-2.0 ….. then she burned. I had a Killer A5 haze that did that to me too once…. But lesson learned moving forward 1.7 EC on her no more.

Secondly, I won’t take her past 12 weeks. On Friday she was looking perfectly ready for harvest and I figured I’d let her hang out until 13 weeks to really ripen …. Over the last few days she has shot out new leaves and got some freaky elongated growth out the top of her colas. It looks like end of life stress not a healthy reflowering. 12 weeks and 1.7 EC seems perfect for her. Hopefully I can avoid the burned fan leaves and get a perfect run on her next time. Third times the charm as the saying goes! I want to find space to re-run her soon to see.

This plant put out some MASSIVE colas and is completely covered in Trichs giving her buds a silverish sheen. I have never had a plant so difficult to photograph, for the life of me I cannot capture her natural beauty. In person her flowers look amazing (ignoring the crispy fan leaves). Maybe the post trim bud shots will be easier to photograph. I’m definitely going to try!

Overall even with my abuse this girl put out hard. At only 30” tall some of her colas are simply impressive :dance013: :whee: :headbange

The Malawi is a great cultivar. Might not be the easiest to dial in but does really well even if everything isn't quite dialed in.

Agreed :dance013:

Crispy fans aside…. I’m very pleased with her flower. This girl threw down … these flowers are beautiful and nicely triched out. Early samples are fantastic, can’t wait for a good cure. I can see what people mean by it comes in waves it definitely does. Intense ganja.

Love it :headbange

Will definitely be keeping this cut around and looks like I’ll be needing to do a proper Malawi pheno hunt at some point now also 🤘🤘🤘

Looks dangerous @OZZ :hotbounceLove the way you finished her with those huge trichomes and whitish shiny look ala New Killer style. Glad the effect is already intense, long lasting and promising, it's going to improve a lot when reaching the 3 months curing. Thanks a lot for sharing your experiences with us and for your interest to grow again this particular genetics and learn each cycle how to improve its cultivation to try to get the best from them. Enjoy! ;)

Looks wonderful passing mid flowering @Chuckeye :D healthy and well developed! 👌

Correct @goingrey :) When properply grown, Old Malawi Killer phenos like yours have super sticky resins, and to roll joint with hand becomes really difficult. New Killer expressions have sandier, dustier, drier type of resins. I'm curious to read a smoke report from you now that your harvest has a good cure.

Well after the cure there is maybe some lemon in there but it's less squeezed lemon peel and more a herbal spicy lemony smell, and the taste is peppery. The high could be called psychedelic but without the emotional aspect so much. Adds a kind of flickery glaze to reality. Fast acting, not creeper weed.

Hi everyone

Just a pic of a few for now to show how well they are doing.
Things are crowded and mixed up right now. Still sexing everything.
Flower room will be clear in a month or so. Many will be moved into there.
Have some very potent looking plants I will take more pics of later.
One of my favorite strains and can't say enough about it here.

Later :watchplant:

**bad pic alert**

Malawi plants in the flower tent. 1 male, 1 female, and 1 has yet to tell me what it is. Structure is nice on these. Have them in living soil I put together, and they seem to be rocking and rolling nicely. They're next to some Tom Hill Haze, Vietnamese Black 164, Todd's O Haze, Afgooey, and a NL5..it's a party in that bitch.

Peace y'all!
