Huge fan of your work and thread. Damn new build tho. I got all the parts to build out 48 sites the old way. Now I see u sized down and it would be perfect for a friends room. What to do with 48 extra 7 gal tubs lol. Maybe I need to get some animals. Maybe giant salad bowls? Giant rolling trays?

I'll take em!!

Thinking of replenished stock, mist king has timers back in again. Thank you Grow4flow for telling me about them.

Haha I have like two grows worth of equipment. One set up and one sitting around. Hate that waiting for it to be in crap.

Love the mistking timers.

the system is done. just a few shots here showing the overall set up again. notice that there are no hose clamps anywhere.

all four of the totes are linked, turning them into one big reservoir.

1. only one pump in the system, a 2400 gph mag drive on 24 positions. in the above photos the pump is in the tote near the timer and the float valve is in the one diagonally opposed. there is no reason they have to be in the same container.

2. plant module. the "hockey puck" will be installed in the bottom end of the tailpiece when the turface is loaded.

3. float level control. this is just a food container from wallys. it slows the input of solution from the volume tank during each pulse. i like to install the float about 2" above my intended water level. here we will run about 6.5" of water in the system as this produces a 3" air gap between the bottom of the grow container and the water. this is sufficient to drain the perched water table after each pulse.

there is a 7/64" hole 1/2" up from the bottom to allow solution into the reservoir.

while we are on the subject these containers will run about 3.5" deep with turface. this and the 3" air gap give a total media depth of 6.5" above the solution level making the entire medium within range of the capillary rise potential of turface. this will easily grow a plant with no top watering system at all.

so if you are short on funds you could build the sub-irrigation first and add the pump, timer, and top plumbing later.

this will grow a very nice but smaller plant without the top watering. you can also top water to your hearts content with a pitcher from the reservoirs.

the line from the volume tank is not installed yet.

4. a close up of the top feed terminal assembly. again notice that there are no clamps. the hose is 7/8" od so i drilled a 7/8" hole in the handle to hold it.

5. a nice digital repeat cycle timer. this fires the pump. editing to add that the pump only runs for 8-16 minutes per day

nice clean work D9. it appears like you may be ganging multiple pumps with one way valves, is that so? no pump in the control res tote and maybe a pump in each of the other three..?

My dick is so hard right now. Your builds are better than Viagra.

Yeah D9, how many pumps? Why not one in the control?

I run the same "cereal" tupperware and similar float valve, perfect fit without compromising too much volume.

Man look at that tricked out pvc manifold rig... the room really looks nice, like a pro. I guess u r a pro.

i'm a pro something! thank you! since i'm legal now i'm consulting and building for others. nice to meet all the people and a great time to be in the "business".

only the one pump here in this one but there is no reason you couldn't use multiple pumps. they could all be fired from one timer or you could have individual timers.

there are a lot of tricks that could be done moving water around.

but since this device does not rely on dissolved o2 in water to operate and instead derives most of it's o2 from the atmosphere you don't need a lot of high speed water movement.

hey, SA! you got it bad when you'd rather look at hydro plumbing than porn. how about these sexy tailpieces we're about to pump?

What size pvc is that on you feed manifold D? Also, how did you go about plumbing the "goodyear" hose to those pvc T's?

the pump outlet is 1" so i used 1" from the pump to the "t" then reduced to 3/4" to go around the room. 2 3/4" pipes together have a cross section of about .88" while a single 1" has an approx .78" cross section so the 2 3/4" pipes will flow slightly more than the single 1".

the t's are 3/4"x3/4"slip/slip to 1/2" fpt. the barbs are 1/2" mpt x 1/2" hose barb.
