Hey all got my 2 drums tomorrow its off to plumbing place to get all my lines and parts and start getting it together Like to mention this build is going to be unique as i am going to put something together i think many are going to really like on my ppk build least i hope it comes out alright hahaha if not i just cut up some more endless supply of drums hahaha and start all over

I got one question folks being this is flood and drain and i am placing 4 drain pipes in my 20 gallon medium how does it fill up the medium before it actually drains ???? you know what i mean ??? like cycle to fill medium then drain to bottom res then back to main nutrient res ????? or when the flood cycle comes and it actually fills bottom res first then up into the medium till till ful then cycle goes to pump to main res ????
I know usually one res with plant in that one but i am doing actual 20 gallon medium with actual seperate res just below it like that picture i showed u guys ???? as well as having another feed res where all the fluids gets pumped after drain cycle and ends up before next cycle and so on lol

how many ya think is needed for the 7 gal tuff tubs? i see turface on the bay for $33/50lb bag, is that a deal or no?

Napa 8822 is $6-$7 a bag... pick it up at the store.. I get 3, 3.5 gallon pots, strained a little, outa a bag of 8822. MVP seems, so far, easier to deal with.... after the clones veging. I bought 7 bags at $17/bag... picked it up, no delivery.. delivery can be big $$$. D9, didn't you use some amount of bagsof MVP for a very long time, after your coco phase?

Where would the be the best places to get turface, my local napa's stopped carrying the 8822. Not online either just local business's? Id also not recommend the cheap fullers earth floor dry products, I had a nightmare with them.

Have not read thread, but suggest Screen of Green method.

You could have 6 enormous plants (10' X 10' horizontally) each under 1000 watt bulbs.

Could also use Screen of Green with autoflowers, with screen at six inches. Then get buds that are 5.99 inch tall.

Hi Loc Dog,

If you were to read the thread you might see that the OP's aim is to show us the growing system he is using known as the "PPK" (which he has been refining to suit his needs for some time now). This thread is a presentation of the current build he has made of this system.

The PPK as a growing system is concerned with what happens below the surface; aiming to maximise growth potential within a given time-frame (and also offer redundancy in the system should there be a power failure, etc).

SCROG (Screen of Green) as you will know, is not so much a growing system but a growing method (concerned with what happens above the surface) focussed on training plants within a frame of some kind to maximise the plants exposure to whatever light is available. It can be used with pretty much any growing system.

The OP has decided than in keeping within his legal limit of six mature (over 12") plants per patient - the way for him to maximise his yield over a year is to achieve more frequent harvests of smaller plants, rather than focus on vegging longer to achieve the biggest sized plants possible.

It is certainly possible to grow monster trees using the PPK method (as others in this thread will attest to) if growing monster plants is your aim.
It is a scalable system which can support plants of any size.

good day everyone well started my drum build today top bucket is 20 gallon and bottom is 23 gallon should work out pretty good still got lots of modding to do buts its a start

The idea is no, trim back but the way the system works the pwt is in the wick. That area is where the medium is water logged, so its not a good place for the roots. But that's one of the main ideas of this system most new people don't understand, because the pwt is now in the wick, the whole pot the plant is in is now perfect air to medium ratio for the roots.
