A Hillbilly's memoire of organic outdoor grown canadian strains.

I'm going to have to read this whole thread. Skimmed it and all the nice pics and chatter about outdoor "offsite plants" got me reminiscing about days gone by.

Something about the fall air and the thrill of hiking in to visit plants nearing harvest brings out the rebel in me. Fuck those helicopters! :ninja:

Well, I think it's time for an update on what I'm up to for the 2024 season!
First up, a couple CBD Auto's, on the left Auto CBD Star with buds forming, and on the right Auto Critical Lemon CBD just starting to bud.

I was lucky to be able to get my hands on a few Auto Affie and auto affie x Critical mass clones thanks to a very generous person.
The auto affie getting their last few days of veg time before planting out, looking for an early sept harvest.

The AAxCM ready for mycorrhizal innoculation and planting in a big hole filled with an organic super soil.

Looking great Hillbilly! I didn't realize there were auto CBD strains. Would be nice to do to get it over with before the rest of the plants are mature. They are pretty small, but you could do a number of them.

I used to grow the purple auto Affie, those are great! I bet those will be really tastey.

Will be neat to see how that plant in the bush does, days are really long and it will be taking off once it sets roots. Keep an eye on the water needs with the heat, but don't overwater. Looks like it has some partial shade, so that helps.

Thanks pipeline, check RGS, many breeders on their site have auto CBD strains. I had an auto blackberry kush CBD going too but some rodent dug it up and it didn't make it. That's why the other 2 autos are smaller, they got uprooted too but I was able to save them. Stunted them for a while so lost a week of growth.
The auto affie is a gem, but have to watch for mold because they grow big dense buds!

Little update, the auto CBD star is filling out nicely, looking like another 4 weeks or so.

The auto critical lemon CBD is taking its good ol time.

The auto affie x critical mass is in full flower. Going to be a lot more compact than I was expecting.

The auto affies are fulling out nicely, but 11 days since planting outdoors and still no sign of flowering. Starting to wonder if the clones didn't get miss labeled...

Some sort of beetle orgi was going on this afternoon, picked them all off and put them in a container. Have no idea what they are and why they like the weed plants so much....

Your plants are food. BTW good call on picking them off.

I've had a couple of caterpillars of some sort on my plants lately and they get "picked off" too. Early is better than late.

The Japanese Beetles are pretty though.

Yeah, those damn Japanese beetles are hitting my berry garden too. They eat the actual blueberry not just the leaves. The fun of growing outdoors!

Found out that there may have been a mix up in the labeling of clones. What I thought was auto affie might be critical mass x auto affie and vise versa. Explains the slow flowering on what was supposed to be AA's...

Last pic of the auto CBD star before butchering some buds to cut mold out. I've come to realize that our weather here is just too hot and humid in July to try and finish plants outdoors without mold. But I'll probably only loose about 10% on this one which isn't that bad... Trichomes today are mostly milky and starting to see a few amber, so will give it a few more days...

The auto critical lemon CBD is filling in really well. But starting to struggle a bit in its 6 gal bucket. Wasn't expecting it to get so big!

Come to find out, this is the auto affie, she's chugging along.

That means these are the Critical mass x auto affie. One has started to flower and the other is thinking about it. Two different pheno's...

This one doesn't have purple petioles or any purple on the stem. I love how they're bushing out as if they were toped.

Thanks Mr Brunch!
I'm quite excited to try the auto Critical Lemon CBD, supposed to be around 13% THC and 13% CBD. Should make for a good day smoke. Hoping for a strong lemon flavor...

I love reading about outdoor grows in Canada, this has been a great read, so thanks Hillbilly69. I'm at 49 latitude and 3000 feet as well. But on the east slope of the Rockies.

Everything looks great Hillbilly!!! Those Japanese beetles are real bastards aren't they!!
I currently have 4 Mulanje Gold under way with a 5th male (waaaaaaay back in the bush). They showed sex in mid July. Actually everything was about a month early. (Climate change???) It will be interesting to see how long to finish. They are in 55 litre wheeled tubs so moving into the greenhouse is easy. Hopefully our Central Ontario weather co-operates.
