Morning Fishsticks
The Harvest Cup is next weekend. I got a ticket for Sundays event. Mass Medical Strains did a joint breeding project with EastCoasterdam, and took the Mr E from him and crossed it with the Star Pupil. Mr.EPupil he said, has phenos of straight RoadKill Skunk. The phenos are sweet, but some are loud Skunk Spray. I cant wait to grab a pack or 2 and pheno hunt these. Been missing real RKS terps.

I've been thinking about how to go about building a trapeze type of mounting system for lights in my large grow room that I've been doing seed/pollination runs.

I need some input from others.

I'm trying to move away from stuff screwed into the ceiling, if possible. I'm also trying to move away from using wood (like 2x4's) to mount and hang lights from, if possible.

The room is 10 feet x 8 feet but not all of the floor space is able to be used.. The ceiling has a slight angle to it.

The idea is to put up two "shelves" up, on opposing walls, from wall to wall or almost from wall to wall. Mounted onto either the 8 foot walls or the 10 foot walls. On top of each shelf I would mount a piece of unistrut the length of the shelf. I want to be able to bolt on 1-3 more pieces of unistrut that are bolted onto the other unistrut. I want to be able to move these around, so I can adjust the placement of lights. Each cross piece will hold no more then two air cooled hoods. The ballasts could also be bolted onto the unistrut. Each one would have to hold the weight of two (Radiant) hoods and maybe two ballasts (digital).

With the above described set up I could adjust the room between these different set ups, 2 hoods, 4 hoods, 6 hoods. (ex., 2-1000watt, 4-600 watt, 6-400 watt).

Problem is that the unistrut has some weight to it. The weight of just the unistrut could range from 69 to 150 pound, give or take. Then add on the weight of those hoods.

Wood would be cheaper and lighter too, which would reduce the total weight load that would need to be supported.

:smokeit: no work today...think i will do something different and go for a bike ride:)

Idle hands and all....

I use 2x4 across my ceiling. I only needed screws at the ends to hold it up. It's the only way I could mount my lights. I'm not putting holes into the popcorn ceiling.

More points of light is always better. You could do 8 315w and crush anything you grow. .

Just had a fellow grower stop by for a visit today. He dropped off some AJ SD snips. :woohoo: And, I know Doc is gonna be shitting in his pants he’s gonna be so happy, he dropped off some snips of BLUE DREAM! I had to chunk my mom of her back when the Attack of the Dud occurred. Doc lemme know if you need that cut... I got you dude! :biglaugh:

Just wanna say thanks to the few ppl here lately that have helped me get back on my feet with strains...you guys know who you are. :tiphat: I’m having to turn down stuff lately cause I’m pretty spaced out, as far as mom space goes.

You could use allthread running down from the ceiling. Similar to how they hang ductwork in commercial buildings. Hang the unistrut from the allthread. This would allow you to hang the unistrut ar a level height, negating the issue with a non- uniform ceiling height.

I'd like to avoid mounting stuff to the ceiling. Allthread isn't really an option here. the rooms height difference across the room is only 2-3 inches max. The idea is something that will span the length with out support in the middles.

How many light fixtures are you hanging off of them? what length of 2x4? how do you mount the 2x4, 4inch part flat against the ceiling or the 2inch side?

I haven't been around much since last week...

....Finally! happened this weekend...

Mrs. G. is happy because 90% of the weed is gone outta the house now...
Just a couple pounds left for us and our guests 'til next October..

The house is finally cleaned up.. No more walking around and finding buds squished on the bottom of my slippers or shoes..
No more little, tiny pieces of trim stuck to my clothes...
No more Sterlite plastic bins stacked up all over the place...They're all back up in the attic now!

And best of all,, I don't have to worry about paying the bills and can have some fun until next year!:woohoo:

I am having a hard time walking around in my grow. I am just going to start pitching my old grow equipment. It is stacked every where and I dont need it now that I have about 45 LED lights.

Just frustrating going around it. It makes working down in the grow a pain in the hairy ass.

I got the last plant trimmed and hung tonight. And will continue with the hard wiring of the LED panel for the WIFI controller. I have taken it and the racks for the other plants out. That way I dont have to wait for the lights to come on at 8PM to work on them.

Did you see where med_pharmer came clean about the 315 room having no penetration and shit yields?

I would never flower with such a small bulb.

There is a thread here discussing the 315s, when I have glanced thru it I remember folks really liking them.....didn’t pay too much attention to why though.

Getting my gutters cleaned today. He is gonna work hard to get them unclogged lol. They have never been cleaned in at least 10 years :D. Gotta get my 180$ worth of work out of him. I tried to do it last week. With so many years of muck its just not possible for me.
