ive never had luck frezzing polen & reuesing it.

I have been able to do it.

The way I do it. I have a jar with a filter disk for the lid (like what is used in mycology). I fill it with some uncooked rice. I take normal sheet paper and fold it into a packet to hold the pollen. Once I fill them with pollen I place them in the jar with the rice in the fridge (not the freezer) for 2 weeks to dry out the pollen. Then they go into the freezer. I've stored pollen in jars like the one I mentioned above, but with out the rice. I've also put them into ziplock baggies and then into the freezer.

I have also found that pollen can be more persistent, in how long it's viable for depending on some different conditions.

Lately I've been thinking about sterilizing any dry rice used for this to kill any other stuff that may be in the rice. I started taking my rice and storing it in glass jars to store it. I found some dead bugs and their molted skins in that rice. Which makes me think I should sterilize any type of grains I may use to help dry out any pollen.

sounds like a good plan. remove that moisture so it doesnt rupture any pollen cells when freezed

It's just what I've read years ago. Don't recall if it was from one of Jorge's books or from the forums here or back in the day on overgrow.

hey bug, weren't you working with some high cbd crosses? i'm looking to get a hold of some high cbd strains...

Wise choice to have CBD in the rotation in my opinion ...lots of choices out there now. Dead Lights has tested over 22% CBD with less than 1% THC. Huckleberry Web (indica) by Dynasty has 2:1 ratios with 3% terpenes. Their Divina Obscura (sativa) has ratios of 1:1 to 1.5:1.

Hey bugman....please share again what you are working with?

I got the opposite results with CMH. If I hadn't I would never had swapped. GPW was better, Plants health was better, Plants looked happy and my flower room didn't get as hot vs hps. Just the spectrum alone is much better for plants to grow properly. If we don't get the results we want we go with what does.

LED has some issues im still unsure about. I will never be able to satisfy my doubts until I try a good LED light. I don't have 800$ to blow on a test right now. After talking to a few that use LED in a large room they had problems keeping there temps up. They had to add heat back in. Yields did take a hit.

Finally the weather has cooled enough I needed a jacket this AM.

If they need to add heat back to the building they would be better served by increasing the insulation. LEDs still put out heat just not as much as HPS.

I dont see the point in paying more for electricity continually when a one time purchase of insulation would solve the problem.

Hey Joe, I am looking for a led for a small veg cab. I have been looking at the hgl 65. What kind of headroom is best?

Just a few inches, enough to allow some air flow.
The 65 doesn't put out much heat at all. The foot print works best at around 12 to 18" above the canopy.

Did the Auction at GLG happen for DB?

Flower Room was running cold which makes your plants grow slow among other things. You gotta remember its a straight swap out from hps to led. Nothing else was changed. Adding heat is a much easier fix than adding insulation to a 5000 sqf room. This is not uncommon. Regardless of room size I hear that complaint from many running LED. Since im not running LED I can only repost what I was told. I'm sure they thought about insulation but it would mean shutting there room down. Maybe they couldn't do that.

:smokeit: still working on the trimming...still too wet to manicure after sweating overnight, but it should be ready in the morning after being trimmed up and spending the night in a paper bag...not gonna be a great yield but better than the crappy summer runs that mostly ended up in the garbage...i'm sure i'm going to bitch daily about the trim job but good timing since it will get me through until the garden is back to normal output...

Oh ya .... Bike track ..

Gonna give this zelle payment method a try. Goes directly in my bank account. Suppose to be better than Paypal? I always get nerves trying new payment methods. Since my Bank had a section for Zelle It should be good.

i wish, but any land you go grow anything on around here is gonna be in the valley and therefore flat...the state has changed the rules for hemp and cbd farming and the local university is into it....
