I get the smoothest smoke with a minimum 5 day flush, I feed @1.2ec. I prefer to give them 10 days to 2 weeks to get them to fade nicely. I used to taper down for a week then straight water for the last, but the last few runs been getting straight h2o for the last 2 weeks and sometimes 3 if the plant needs a little more time.

Hiya,
Quick question: do you ever start a final flush before you see amber trichomes?

Howdy!

Basic question here. Are 4" pots big enough with a 5 or 8x a day multifeed? I haven't been able to find anybody on this thread doing 25 small plants per table, and I'm about to attempt it myself. Each plant is getting fairly rooted in the 4" or 3.5" cup, and is about to be topped to 4 nodes, giving me 4 colas per plant and 100 colas per 4x4 table/1000w.

I just did a run in 1/2 gallon pots, 20 plants per table, watering every other day. Low yield, obviously.

I need higher yields, and I can set up a drip system to water 5-8x a day. My room is sealed and co2 supplemented, with proper temperature humidity and co2 levels.

My nutes have always been RO water/2ml calmag+ (added epsom week 4-10 of bloom), Canna a+b, sometimes PK13/14, sometimes silica. Always 1.1-1.4 EC.

I found this earlier in the thread posted by DJM:

"If multifeeding 4-6x a day i recommend

1 gal for a 4-5 ounce plant
2 gals for a 8-10 ounce plants
5 gals for a 1-1.25 pound plant
7 gals for 1.5 pound plant
10 gals for 2-3 pound plant
"

I only really need 1oz plants, although 1.5oz average would be KILLER.

Seems half gallon pots would be too big for a 1-1.5oz plant. Maybe closer to 1/4 gallon/1 Liter pots.

Or can I stay in my 3.5" and 4" pots, and just up the water frequency as high as they need them and get stellar results? Even 8x daily feeding shouldnt be a problem. Or should I transplant into 5" pots or possibly 6" pots and just water 2-4x a day, once they fill in the pots more?

I'll take pics tonight.

Got 1 table sour d, 1 table platinum bubba, and 2 tables thin mint cookies

Overthinking.

Use 1 gallon pots and go from there. Wait until they're drying out daily for multifeed.

I just water the same intervals as I was when feeding. One way I can tell a plant is about finished is that it stops drinking as much as it had been. The seems like it isn't drying out as fast as it was. I pull the dippers and let her pot dry out another day or two, then chop chop. So, yes, keep watering 5xs..

Hiya,
Quick question: do you ever start a final flush before you see amber trichomes?

I prefer to finish with all cloudy and a few ambers. If you prefer more amber, Start flush once you have all cloudy and by the time they are flushed out there will be ambers and you can flush as long as you need to vet as many ambers as you need. I've had multistrain grows where I started flushing @ week 7 and had a couple that went 11 + weeks and the plants that got 3+weeks of straight water had no ill effects. There is plenty of nutrients stored in the leaves for the plant to sustain for quite a while. Flush is also strain dependent. I've had some that hang on to their color for weeks with nothing but plain water, some look as I'll they've not been flushed at all after a 2 week flush. I have some that start to fade after 2 days of straight water. Nothing is prettier to me than a bud that has faded into fall looking colors. Those are my favorite pics.

Gg#4 day 65. 15 days of flush.

yo otis, so you chop when the pot is bone dry? I was told to chop in the morning after the first watering when its still wet...

Waxy, from what i have read it really depends on the environment i which you will be drying in - i.e low humidity, water before ; high humidity, let it dry. This is also how i have practiced in my limited experience.

Chop in morning before lights even come on. Reason is because as soon as the lights come on the plant will start sucking everything possible from the soil. You don't want any of that in your final product. You want it clean as possible.

Not necessarily dry, but I feel like if they have just been watered, it takes a little longer to dry. I have folks waiting, always, so the sooner the better. I've been told to harvest my veggies at dawn or just before for better flavor, and less chance of any bitterness. I've also heard you should harvest weed just before lights come on or during the dark period, but my pallette is not refined enough to tell the difference. I have tried lights on & off. I will add that I really can't tell much of a difference between a 2 week flush and no flush at all (fed1.2ec), but do it for the pot snobs and bc that's how I was taught was the way it should be done. I also like the fall colors from a good flush and I like having my ego stroked with complements on the weed even if they don't know I grew it, so I try to make it as good as I am able with the knowledge I've been given.

Sorry to bother but I believe I misinterpreted your response to my question. I'd like to finish with all milky trichomes as well, a few amber is good. They are 50/50 on the clear side now, its a 7-8 week strain and I'm right at 52 days. Should I wait or if I start the flush now I will hit my target in 7-10 days? My plan is to finish the 8 weeks, flush 7 days and see what I get. I know its guess work but I need a second guess. .... I guess.

Anyone else?
