Just adding to the conversation......its hard to know wat is legit and wat isnt. Seems like anything legit has to have two main components. Lemon and gas/leather purse smell.
In 2000. Wen I first started growing indoor. Someone gifted me a clone called og kush. I am pretty sure it was the s1. Got it in Northern Arizona. It was a short plant not much branching, golf ball nuggets. The smoke was easily identifiable. Deep lemon car wax followed by a carbonated tyoe gas smell. Im sure the lemon was lemon thai except zero anxiety in this cross. Either it was the S1 or the cross that Kaileau kid talks about with the secret ingredient (lemon thai x paki kush) crossed to the chemdog which I believe is something like the DNL. Nl x nl/shiva x Hawaiian. Of course it waa before i could clone and wasnt able to get it again. The grower I got it from grew indoor on a big level for a while and was just doing personal stuff with a 400W. Stellar strain. Anyway back to chemdog. And this is for good ole dog. I got a cut labeled chemdawg from a dispensary in Eugene in 2014. It had major stretch in flower. And had a lemon pledge at the beginning and an expensive leather purse smell. Nothing else. Branching was typical chem/og with lots of spacing between nodes and big buds everywhere. The plant had a lemon lime tint to it and all the leaves had 5 fingers. 3 main ones and two little ones on the bottom. Could this be the 91? It hit like a sour diesel but had an afghani top to the high that made it impossible to get anxiety. Well i lost that mom in my move, i let someone who I thought had connections in Eugene and came back after a few weeks and the little punk killed the plant. Yes im still pissed if you are reading this. So took me 5 long years to get a chemD cut. Flowered it out and the first 3 weeks of flowering it had a sweet candy smell like NL. The rest of the grow it had a super funky smelly socks smell. This was the variegated cut or as someone told me the forum cut. Im pretty sure thats a cross of the 91 and some sort of NL. There is absolutely no way one of the original dog bud has a sweet northern lights smell in the nose of the terps. Everything in my experience with chem or og has been that lemon thai smell followed by some sort of gas or expensive leather smell. To say that this cut and the 91 came from the same bag of seeds is hard to believe. So then I got another cut called chemD and they look nothing alike in veg. It had silky green leaves, some variegation but not that bad. Seemed like nute issues. The variegated chem seems like a genetic issue of the cross like not such a strong cross. Both strains show nanners but norhing to worry about. Thats chem as far as I know.
The second chem has a citrus smell to the branches and the bud in flower smells like that same funk as the variegated cut just not as rich. As they say. You cant fake the funk. This second cut also has alot of space inbetween the buds similar to my chemdawg cut I got in 2014. Ive had a few other chem91 cuts since then but not worth mentioning here lol.Heres a few pics of stuff im talking about. Chem 2014, chem d variegated and the other one. I second that. The most potent weed I've had in my 32 years of smoking was a cross of ChemD x SD IBL. 3rd biggest yielder too. More potent than OGK, SD, and Chem 91 or Chem D by themselves.

This being said I love anything and everything chem and garlic gasoline, I'm always looking for the best chem beans and crosses, I've been out of the strain loop for about 6 years now so I'd love hard opinions on whats the best of the best right now.
Also how does GMO tie into the entire Chemosphere? More garlic and less lemon these days.

There is a lot more of Topdawg to be had out there now. But DVG has good examples too. Their Motor Breath is tip top and most lean heavy toward the gasoline smell and flavors in that line.
Lucky Dog is done by Skunk VA who was the holder and preserver of the Chem 91 for years. A lot of good stuff from them and all is Chem based. And CSI does a lot of fems and has the Chems as S1's or in crosses.. Lot of good stuff in those. You can see them all on IG.

Nope. Not sure what he’s referencing. Some cryptic bs. CSI got his cut from Sierra skunk. Sierra skunk got his cut from skunkva. Like was stated earlier, if you want the original didn’t go through anyone else’s hands 91 you get lucky dogs. There is a reason it’s tagged skunkva Chem 91 and not CSI chem91 or anyone else’s. End of story.
