They are big and looking great! Not quite as tall as mine yet, but not a big difference. How many plants in total? Mine are in the ground in a greenhouse. Several thousand at a time. I can get 3-5Kg per plant but concentrate on seeds and seed breeding, as my focus. What is your high yield from one plant, cleaned and dry? And the average of the whole crop?
A few questions, excuse me if you have posted this info just link me to it if you have.
Your soil mix, what is it exactly? Do you reuse the soil, change it,or just amend it yearly? Do you have a formula to make it?
Why the 800 gal pots instead of just a big hole filled with soil mix?
I hear about smart pots being able to breath better for the roots but yours are mostly buried in the ground and will not out perform just a soil mix in a big hole will they? I have been an organic bio-dynamic french intensive gardener for decades, I have used raised beds many times, I like them. That is what yours look like, raised beds with soft walls.
All the best,

BIG UP Sam!

25 plants is the county limit per parcel.

Last year the biggest was 8.5#, 3.6kg. romulan grapefruit x mendo dream.
I averaged about 5#, 2.2kg. I had some crappy strains. sour lsd, sour bubble and sour boggle.

My soil has evolved over the years. I've been building it up.
I reuse and amend it.

I used to throw the kitchen sink of organic amendments.
This year I took a different approach and had my soil lab tested and then did a custom amendment blend.

I added 125# of organics to the 800's

My pots are not buried in the ground.
The 800 pots are wide enough for my support system.
Smart pots are great they prevent other roots form getting in and keep out the gopher.

I would have loved to just put in trenches but this was the best option.

I not sure if the 800's will out preform just a 4.5 yards in the ground. 800 gal seems to grow huge plants, the plants in the 400's are as big as the 800's.
I don't think the hole's would do much better as my plant size is maxed out and have reached their genetic limit.

Maybe if I get some sam the skunkman seeds I can grow bigger!

May be next year I can get my high tunnel set up and run a few hundred for pheno fishing.

I have grown I think 5 different stains from BOG over the years, and it is always the worst in the garden. I am sure there are keepers, but I have only swung and miss when it comes to BOG genetics.

I'd love to see what several thousand 12 foot Ganja plants in a Greenhouse looks like.

I am going to piggy back of what Calidude said, and assume you feed the heck out of those 45 gal pots. My question for you is, is it cheaper/better to have less soil and spend more on nutes or the other way around? I would think after a couple seasons the soil would pay off?
