Are any of those Chem 4 S1s?

Naw, I let the Chem4 and her crosses take the bench this season. Wanted to work on some other crosses. Mostly Skywalker and GSC.
I'm really likeing the fire OG!!!! shit is NICE!!!!!
And working more with that.

Chem4 is great for breeding but the color lacks bag appeal, turns golden. Some people love it some dont. And its not the easiest to trim.

I think it is some of the strongest weed around, and running it indoor this fall and dumping the GSC.

BUT! I have a plan to cross the GSC to Chem4 for next season.

I kept a cheese X chem4 from last season and S1's are in the pipeline for that. And that shit was FIRE! it brought the cheese to another level.

What is your opinion of chem4?

Now I wish I had a few Chem4 S1's in the "extras"

Oh well....... Ill just have to settle with what I got.:dance013:

Hash Zeppelin, Aptus is an american brand...

Aptus is Dutch.

Also out door soil mediums already have natures Aptus naturally produced in soil, just more is better. Anyways I'm sure mendos plants are gonna be awesome either way.

It's looking good from here.

What are you spraying bugs with?

Its summer!!!! and its getting HOT!

Its not all been perfect. I've had to replace 2 plants so far.
1 blue dream pre-flowered and I planted a male OG x mendo dream.
I'm debating on pulling another 1 or 2. I'll make that decision this week.

The pests are out! cucumber beetle's, leaf hoppers and thrips are working pretty hard.
sprayed this week so hopefully they bug off!

Again I have no experience with out door giants like those ladies so I have lots of questions. Have you ever considered digging out holes in the ground with one of those big cat diggers, and filling it with fox farm instead of smart pots? Would that effect ability to flush properly? Would it effect the root ball formation negatively?

What about digging out a 800 gln hole in the ground, then putting an 800 gln smartpot on top of that with the bottom cut out? 1600 glns of soil so the roots can grow extra deep.
Start them in a greenhouse with sup lighting and heat, under 17/7 light schedule in January. Get them big and bushy in 55gln black barrels with 6 months veg, then harden them off starting June 1st before putting them out.
20lb plants? LOL
Thats what Ide do if I could.

First off , Big respect to Mendo Seeds !!

I got the ChemDog 4 in 2006 directly from Joe Brand , so it's a bit of a sentimental plant to me. A friend of mine worked her in to seed form and I have a select male from that line that with the help of another friend, many 'elite' clones were pollinated.

Testing the crosses now.

I agree with you on the gold color being the achilles heel of the Chemdog 4...I am going to work hard to make a non gold/yellow Chemdog 4...Those Trichomes get so Amber though..My plan is to cross the male I have to StarDawg.

The StarDawg came from Kev @ Garberville Grass ...not sure what cut it is, just that it is StarDawg which is Chem 4 x TresDawg. Hoping to get to Chem 4 in seed form in a few steps after the Star dawg x CD 4 BX3 cross

I haven't ever tended her outdoor, but the indoor flowers are a breeze to trim.

Roots don't go that deep.
wide is better.

It would be difficult to transplant a 55 gallon pot.

Some strains may not like such a long veg and not make the transition well. Sometimes smaller plants make the transition better.

I already pulled 2 blue dreams because they did not make it smoothly.

But You should give'er a GO!

Shit is looking killer already mendo!!! 7' plants at the beginning of june is something to be proud of for sure!! Your grows are an inspiration to me. Someday I will be able to use containers that big out in the open. For now I'm a guerilla in the mist, with 50 gals. being as big as I can go. Still have high hopes for this year. Prolly end up with as much altogether as just one of your monsters, lol.

I made a chem4 bx3/cheese cross as well. The chem kicked up the cheese in every way. Those two strains are made for each other…

Keep up the great work:ying:

Funny!!!!!

Every time I think about this garden, I think I'm just a small fry compared to what others are doing!
People are growing more than 25 plants around me. Mendo county allows 25 plants.
