60/60 Forced Flowering Approach

SB,

Do you have any more information on your homemade Walmart aerocloner?

Hey Jon,

The little aero cloner is simple. I think there are some threads in one of the sections.
The walmart cloner conist of:

1- 3 gallon plastic tub/tote=3$
1- adjustable fish tank heater =20$
1 fish tank thermometer =3$
3-aerostones, the long kind.
1- aquarium pump =20$
1 aquarium plastic air tubing =2$

If you cant find a design for it, Pm me and I will walk you through it. Its very simple and super effective. I get about a 90% clone success rate in 10-14 days. Seed germination in the contraption is explosive and unequalled when the temp is kept at a constant 78 degrees. The aquarium heater allows you to set the temps. Ive found clones root faster at about 82, but you have to watch the water or it will develop bacteria and destroy your roots. I actually have 2 tubs and I swith out the cover holding the plants every 3 days.

hope this helps/ sb

This season I am attempting my first real outdoor grow. 43N. I started 10 mandala #1, 10 purple power, and 10 maroc, about 2 weeks ago. they spent their first week in a toxic hydrohut, and now all that's left is 1 M#1, 4 maroc, and 7 pp. So a couple days ago I germed 10 more maroc and 3 double kush seeds. (all seeds are female)

Should I try this approach with some of these plants? All of them? I have been planning on switching to 12/12 around the 4th of july and planting outside on the 14th. Most will probably be in cornfields.

I am thinking the marocs can just go outside the same time i force flower the rest and they will "autoflower". Do you think your method would let me harvest any sooner? Would the yeilds suffer?

What size holes should I dig?

Thanks for all your info.

High HighonthePrize.

Well, if it were me, I would get them out of there current location and outdoors and in the soil lickity split and let them flower naturally. Can you plant them outdoors now?

But if not, I guess I would try to veg 24 hrs a day until June 22, when I would cut back to 12/12. Once they begin to show good flower development, they wont try and reveg and thats about the first of july.

If this is your first OD grow, I wouldnt try any fancy stuff and just get down some basic growing skills. Good soil, security, sunshine and a hardy strain that will finish. Most growers struggle just to achieve these basic requirements. Im one of them.

Thanks sb. I am planning on getting the first batch of marocs out this week, along with the pp and m#1. I want to let the other marocs veg a little as I believe they will start to flower when I put them out. I don't think the double kush(og kushxhindu kush) will finish here, so I want to try your forced flower approach with these.

Good growing.

Well, my forced flowering effort for this year is finally started. Im really running about 10 days behind because my parents werent planted almost 2 weeks late due to spring rain delays.

I took my first little bunch of cuttings 5 days ago and the second and main round im taking today.

This first batch taken last week are Sensi star.

Ive pulled back to display the single 40w florescent that I use for the first week or so. I keep it 2+feet away from them and on 24 hrs and the second week I will move them within a 1'. During the end of the second week, i will fire up the dehumidifier to the right and reduce the humidity to around 20% as in my view, this intices root production where they have already began to root.

Here are the mother plants for round 2. Cream caramel from sweet seeds, Sadhu from Mandala and BBXNL from Dr. Atomic in the front pot. The Sadhu and the Cream Caramel look sort of scraggly but its because I have removed all the leaves and vegative matter in preparation for taking the cuttings. I find it less traumatic on the cuttings if cuts are plugged before the cuttings are taken.

I also use WILTPROOF on my cuttings, I show a picture and recommend it highly for cuttings.

The sensi stars will root for about another7-10 days and then I will start hardening them and start flowering them at the same time. I will set them outside to harden, but bring them in after 12 hrs. Their target date for going into the field is approximately July 10 and their harvest date will be approximately sept 15. SS is a 60 days strain outdoors. The cream caramel, sadhu and BBXNL will be about a week later but the CC and BBXnl will probably beat the Sensi and the Sadhu, as they are 7 week or 50 day strains. All should be harvested by mid september and I project 2.5- 3.5 oz's per plant. I should have 30-35 cuttings in total.

Ill post the progress as time goes on.

Nice work SB. Unfortunately, I tried this but just couldn't get cuttings to root using peat pucks and earth juice rooting concentrate. I'll be trying to perfect cloning technique during the offseason so I can try to do this.

Hi Ho Silverback,
Extremely interesting thread this & I will be watching closely for sure. Anyone looking to grow in corn, this could be the answer. The biggest problem with corn growing is the wait for the corn to get tall eneogh to hide MJ in.
Hmmm, all female, all flowering, finishing before the dreaded combine. The same technique could be used for seedlings.
Fine stuff & thanks.

SB I was wondering what your force flowered girls look like a month and a half before harvest. I'm new to this technique but like many growers I'm intrigued by the idea. My girls average from 1.5 to 2 feet and are starting to form buds. However i have had a mild snail problem, I'm trying to figure out if I'm on track for a decent harvest.

man am i glad you bumped this thread back up and i saw it. counting seeds and clones i've probably had around 100 attempts this season. last week there were only 5 left. 1 hermied, 1 was just put out, 1 is the biggest but still considered small, and 2 are pretty big. my success rate this year is 5 for 100! I just started germing seeds the other night after I read this. i thought my season was over till next year but lo n behold. gonna veg seedlings for a week then throw em in 12/12 for 2 weeks before they go outside august 5. i'm at 32 degrees so little chance of frost. guess that means im doing a FF grow this year too. cant see why people dont spend their time learning in here and instead focus on the journals. yeah i can...bud porn...i'm a stoner too! thanks for sharing knowledge sb, the potato peeler is cool too.

Read through the thread, very informative! Thats a good idea, wish i thought of it for this season :wallbash:

@guest, also for growing in corn you have to consider the date they will spray with chemicals, and if they will. When the corn is around 2 feet, in my state is when its safe.

To have a possibility of dividing my summer into 2 grow seasons, or to be able to pull off a harvest when people expect it less, good shit!

Thanks for this thread man! I just took a good bunch of swt#3 clones and will definitely try this method. These clones should be rooted in 14 days so early august will be getting 12/12, then outside in mid/late august for a late september/early october harvest:)
Not the greatest stretcher in the world so directly from clone I'll be lucky to pull 15 grams each (Don't really have a clue how the outdoors will affect this though) but with hopefully 40-50 going out it's still gonna be enough to make a nice ball of bubblehash if it all works out.

I'm trying to do this with AK-99 clones in a small greenhouse that gets a tarp thrown over it every evening and taken of 12 hours later in the morning. It's not totally dark but I'm hoping it will be enough to trigger flowering. I've been doing it a week now and I'm not sure it's working. They are indoor clones that are a month old 15" high. I'm at 43N. I'll keep doing it untill August 1st. Keeping my fingers crossed, and looking for buds forming.

nice technic.....!!
my idea was to veg the cutz under 24h and them put it outside, like SB did it...also the same time sould be right....and what will be happen is that the clones will switch into bloom without the 12/12 prefloweing indoor!!!
also the strech will be more because u can do it with any sized plant

if u take an light sensivity early strain veg em 24hours u can easily put it out juni and it will go in full flower without any reveg

It worked even in spring...this year i was planting out some leb27 preveg indoor under 18h planted in april 4:10 ....it gone straight into flowering and did not reveg!!!

its not a bad idea, but when u think about growing a plant for a month, then rooting clones, then flowering them, then taking them outside to transfer, then going back to check on them once in a while, that u might as well just grow a few big girls and let it be, or just grow a bunch of autos under floros, assumeing youve already bread there seeds and have a bunch, at day 20 kill the males and take them(females) out as u would theese clones.. it seems risky to me to have to go to so many locations to burry a bucket as u say and then return and plant a seed. is finding a spot to grow a few semi monsters that hard? also why not just veg a plant for a few weeks and then flower it, why the need to grow for a month, then clone, then 12/12... what id really like to see is an accurate start date to all strains flowering outside at the seedbanks, such as, this N.L at 45' starts to flower generally on august 15th , at 30' july 30th etc.., i think it would really come in handy for us outdoor folks.

i dont like the idea of going all over the place outside in public to tend plants, and if your in the sticks u mite as well just low stress train and prune and grow yoruself a big ol bush and be done with it.-

I dont believe a female autoflowerer can be kept as a mother. In fact, with my limited knowledge, i have concluded there is no successful cloning of autoflowerers. With this type of cannabis I believe the only grow option is to germinate the seeds and grow them out. Even lengthening the daylength doesnt' effect them as they will flower under 24 hrs of light.
There is some experimentation on this right now by picking off the flowers. I didn't come up with the idea but I and others are testing it right now. Here's the thread.
