hey blaze or anybody running this soil mix, has anybody found a successful replacement for the pro-mix container part? Or a site where I can get it? I was looking into the Sunshine mix #4, as it carries the same Canadian sphagnum peat moss, lime, and perlite. The only thing that’s missing is the poly crystals? is the poly crystals really necessary?

I am not running the mix (yet) but I am pretty confident that does not matter. You can sub the Promix with a custom mix of if you wanted. The point is to cut the MG with a low fert, ph correcting mix with good drainage. :rasta:

Man, this thread is absolutely inspirational.

Although ... the last time Blaze posted was on 12-9 and the plants looked to be a few weeks out from harvest Im guessing?

It seems a little odd to have it end just like that, and certainly they have finished by now...almost a month later.

Hope your OK Blaze ..... I think you might have some worried members here, my newbie ass included.

I'm sure he's okay, he always does this around harvest, then comes in with massive dank shots galore. I think his fingers get stuck together from all the trimming :biglaugh:

What was the ratio of mg to promix? 1cu.ft. bag Mg to 1.5cu.ft. bag promix? I got the 3.8cu.ft. bag sunshine #4, so that would be 2) 1cu.ft. bag's Mg to my sunshine bale? It says in a few post back 1) 3.8cu ft. bale, to 2) 1cu. ft. bags mg... but didn't he say that that mix wasn't the usual mix he uses? So to blaze or anybody what ratios are tried and sucsesfull?

Oh yeah, to all that have tried the mix what where the starting ph's of yall's tap water? Cuzz mines is high... like 7.5 - 8.0! wouldn't that have to be ph'ed?

Started mixing the soil today. Got about half way.

The mix I am using is simple. 1 3.8 cf bag of pro mix, 1 2cf bag of miracle grow organic, 1/4 bag of foxfarm ocean forest, 1 cup blood meal 1 cup bone meal 3/4 cup dolomite lime, and 1&1/2 cups of kelp meal. 20% chunky perlite!

Quick tip for finding a specific users post in a thread (like to find Blaze's soil recipe) is to find one of their posts, and click 'Filter' next to the Rep button. It will show you only that person's posts.

What stores generally cary the Pro Mix Container soil blaze is using? Looked through the thread page by page may have missed it but I did not see it. I want to use this mix this go around, but I can only find the mix online so far and really don't want to pay for shipping...

I talked it over with my hydro guy back when Blaze first dropped his awesome recipe, and we figured out the only difference was that the container mix had water retention crystals in it. So, grab some standard promix and some water crystals, and you should be fine.
