Nutrients are tricky, if you have an organic nursery around, you can probably make a few trips with different people and avoid the 'noia. Otherwise the only method I know of is biting the bullet and ordering nutrients online or visiting a hydro store. Unfortunetly, nutrients intended for this type of plant are pretty spescific. Using electrical tape on your paperclips is pretty inventive, and should work, just try and keep a wide layer of electrical tape on it(alot of the time, stem growth into tiedowns really has more to do with a thin tie). I also heartedly reccomend water treated with reverse osmosis or ionization, regular tap water in most cases will harm the plant; you can buy these types of water from most stores, most companies print their purification process on the bottle/jug. Hope my advice helps
I drink tonnes of bottled water. The CANNABIS plant gets the same treatment (I've read way too many articles discussing the harm of tap water)!
There is a nursery I know of around here that should be able to come up with any nutrients necessary, and I suppose I could just tell 'em my tomato plant has a calcium deficiency. Are tomato plants similar enough to just talk to one of the employees about what kind of nutrients my tomato plant needs to be healthy? What should I be looking for?
What I know:
Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, and Calcium are needed during the flowering stages of a cannabis plant. Phosphorus and potassium are required in greater amounts than nitrogen at this stage, and calcium should already be in the soil to some degree. If measured using the 'NPK' format, I should be looking for a plant food with roughly twice the amount of 'P' and 'K' than 'N'. So, something like 10-20-20, with other random nutrients thrown in.
What I don't know:
Where the heck are plant nutrients sold with the 'NPK' system? I can usually find bags with percentages on 'em, but never in that specific format and usually with inadequate phosphorous and potassium.
Also, I don't know if the plant can just be sustained with what it already has in the soil. I'd imagine the amount of nutrients would degrade over time, but could the life cycle of one plant be supported by soil alone?
P.S. Yes, I'm a paranoid motherfucker. I don't view using cannabis as illegal, and I don't plan on getting caught by people who do. Honestly, if my home was invaded I'd probably shoot the fuckers. The idea itself scares the living shit out of me. I don't know how or why anyone would suspect me of cultivation, but the thought of my life being wrecked over a harmless plant worries the piss out of me. Now that I'm all worked up, I should probably go enjoy a nice smoke session and chill. Have a great day everyone, and thanks for the comments!
One more thing, took a couple close up 'artsy' shots a while back, figured I'd share 'em since I haven't been able to get pictures of the new growth.
Also, why the heck does the 'drag and drop images from ICMag Gallery' feature only work occasionally?
