I tried to find it before I asked, but what is this "chow mix" that you are comparing with the rockwool?
And were these wifi from seed? I'm guessing that what your "#'s" correspond to?
I just got some WiFi babies today, I wonder what pheno they came from? Hrmmmmm

The chow row has more stretch. I suspect because of more root area n beds. Are the Rockwol buds denser? And which medium produced the higher quality? The grow looks wicked pimp!

Shit is looking sweet man. Friggin' sick is what it is. So are #43, #80, #94 the onlt special ones. I would love to see some more of the pheno's you found.

Im seeing strains do things Ive never seen before with aptus. Strains Ive had for 6 years. Smells and yeilds unlike anything else Ive done. And Ive only been hand watering the beds every other day. I can't wait to have my systems all done and they get daily watering. Its going to be sick.
Definitely rivals any organic runs Ive done as well. That says it all.

I like the concept, but we decided like 2 years ago that we must be doing something wrong if we can't find/settle on something that works "right out the bag" these are professional companies that specialize in what they are doing....who am I so second guess their science?
Show me a SINGLE commercial greenhouse that does does stupid PITA custom blends....
my back has hurt less, and life has been easier since we switched to a single bag medium.

Gold Label has a 60/40 Hydroton/Coco bag... i think that's the ratio Jack uses....
haven't used it, but if i can source it in the next few weeks ill be trying it out side by side with DIY 60/40 mix.
DIY ain't bad either considering you just dump a ratio of bags into the table and then mix it up in there. assuming ya run beds, it'd be less effort than filling individual pots.
Jack can you tell us about your strategy for popping seeds and testing them?
1) how many do you pop at a time?
2) do you clone a top from each plant and then flower each of these 'moms'?
3) I assume you keep the clone from each plant in veg until the flowered plants are finished and you can test the quality. How do you then determine the 'winner(s)' of the bunch? Do you then chop and toss all the 'looser moms' and only grow out the winners to become production cloning moms?
Seems like it would take a lot of extra space and meticulous labeling to do this successfully. I would love to try it but don't currently have the space to keep 50+ 'test moms' around for this purpose. Sure I could do it in smaller numbers, but it seems that the name of this game is QUANTITY - the more you pop per trial the better your odds at finding something special and the less time lost to experimentation.

I take a big hand full of seeds usually around 100 and swallow them the ones that end up living after they go through my bowels are the strong ones
So numbers correspond with the dump I took.. I rember #43 being a really shitty day so I kept her... Thats pretty much the science behind it....Seeds germinate way faster once they go through stomach acid....Im sure some one will say there is a way easier way
or im doing it wrong but they don't know shit about shit...
Are you talking Hermies if so I have never had an issue thats with swallowing thousands of seeds
... I have found phenos that are very different from one grow to the next in the same room same light given the same nutes the White always wants to shine through.. With the exception of #43 ....Most peoples Wifi keepers have alot of White in them but are probably better then 95% of the stuff they have ever grown... With the exception of a few Gangsta's out there...

So they do make the chow mix premixed, gold label and Dutchman are two reputable company's now making it. Plants perform differently in different mediums and nute regimines.

Biggs I have made many og kush ,chem 4, wifi hybrids. The f1 s some times have phenos w intersex trait, and even phenos that are proven production phenos will show stamen production in cold rooms, u can prevent it if u see stamens by using reverse from Dutch master. Always keep an eye for stamens when popping any seeds but especially chem,og type hybrids. Peace
